  1. Who are the five? I've got Merrillville, HSE, and Carroll as the top contenders out of the north. Fishers and Homestead close behind. Warsaw sitting on the outside edge of those five in my opinion.
  2. Honestly? No one really knows the answer to that question. All we are really doing is going by last years results.
  3. Even though it brings in more revenue than some of the other varsity facilities in the FWCS system. Again........perplexing to say the least.
  4. Again, as I said earlier. the NEIGHBORHOOD will not allow a full on Stadium to be put in place at the Bowser Field location. That's fine, let's just begin construction on the turf field then. It only makes business sense. Snider's JV and Freshmen games are more likely to pay it off quicker than South Side or Wayne's Varsity games. Heck, the extended residents weren't in favor of the Layhmeyer Road facility either. And how'd that work out for those residents? Never mind, let's not go down that path. When they seem to be content with the current situation on Friday nights sharing a facility with Northrop? You're right, su casa mi casa.
  5. Where is Snider's turf field? I'm willing to bet that Snider's JV and Freshmen games bring in more revenue than South Side and Wayne varsity games. And we all know which varsity program brings in the most revenue to FWCS. Fascinating.
  6. Snider and Cathedral have no varsity facilities, so your comment isn't entirely accurate.
  7. No games of significance up here in the Fort. But it's an exciting week for sure as some of our teams face out of conference competition for the first time. We know what the outcome of the Luers Fairfield game will be. Concordia will take care of business against Northwestern. But how will South Side do against Delta? Wayne vs Marion?
  8. One Indy team replaced with another. Two programs of equal caliber in recent seasons. One goes south, the other bumps up from 5a. It's a wash.
  9. And last year they got a good taste of what it takes to be a champion in playing Chatard and Westfield. Maybe getting waxed by those teams was just what they needed. We know they have the talent, but are they determined enough to play tough, central Indiana football? I think.....................yes
  10. It's hard to deny that Merrillville looked VERY good against a solid Valpo team. I still like Westfield though. The Rocks are battle tested and prepared for anything the north has to offer. It would be fun to see new blood though :).........pulling for the Pirates.
  11. There was a lot of talk in the off season about Snider's "downfall." Every team experiences a one or two year decline every so often. With undefeated JV and Freshmen teams, I'd say the program is alive and well.
  12. It would be an epic upset. But like any team, including Center Grove and Cathedral, if they don't put there best foot forward they're out.
  13. I won't dive too deep into it, otherwise this will turn into a 30 page debate. I just think it's a no contest.
  14. You rate Center Grove over Luers in terms of tradition and prestige? I think 99% of those who follow high school football might disagree. That sounds absurd coming from someone who actually follows Luers.
  15. The odds of Luers winning state is about the same as Center Grove and Cathedral.
  16. Although very important in preparing younger players, I've never really put much stock into wins and losses at those levels. I think many coaches are more concerned with development versus actual wins and losses.
  17. I think Wayne is more likely to beat Marion than South beating Delta.
  18. Dwenger 20, Northrop 7 Carroll 17, Wayne Homestead 34, South Side 0
  19. Good work! Thanks to the effort you put into your Top 5 each week. I'm especially intrigued by the first two mainly due to proximity. I'm pulling for the Tigers tonight. I feel like a loss will put a bit of a damper on what they bring to Sectional 3. A win tonight solidifies them as a major contender to take the Sectional. I like Warsaw tonight by 7. Snider vs Luers is a monster. We normally don't get to say that since Luers is a 2a school. But let's be honest, they are playing 6/5A caliber football. It looks to be a dry night so the Knights passing attack will be in full swing. Snider needs to grind it out, run down the clock, and hope for a few defensive stops. This one could go either way. May the best team win.
  20. Those Luers teams were VERY good. They hadn't beaten Snider at all up until that point, then they did it two years in a row. Those were semi-state quality Snider teams that Luers beat. The '04 Snider team was a beast, even after Quale Lewis went down with an ankle injury during week 8 or 9. The outcome against Warren Central would have been different had he played. I'd also give the '97 Snider team consideration. A foot of mud at Spuller that night ended their season that night against a good quality opponent in Penn.
  21. Lol, not buying what you are selling. If Luers can be Carroll and Homestead, they can beat Snider. It'll go to the wire.
  22. That may be, but Luers seems to be healthier now than what they have been. It'll take Snider's best performance of the season to pull this off. I'm still taking Luers.....35-31. If it rains, I like Snider 24-21.
  23. I'll take Luers in a close one. They seem to be on a mission. They already beat Carroll, Homestead, and Dwenger...........Snider's next.
