  1. Good post. When an undefeated team comes to town, you better take them seriously. Especially a team that is coached by a staff with a proven track record. Crown Point is on there way, maybe they're already there.
  2. Temp mentioned something that I was thinking myself.............country club sports. But why would those sports hold a higher level of importance at Carmel than other burbs like Fishers and HSE?
  3. Maybe Carmel just had an off game against Westfield? Overall it was a pretty good year and they sit at #9 in the Sagarin Ratings. That's a pretty good ranking considering the quality of football in Indiana.
  4. Love the best of three in one day. That gives the iron man competition a run for it's money. You have a pretty decent point regarding Mr. Football going to a state champion.
  5. If Carroll takes care of business, I'll take you up on that one. PM me when the time comes.
  6. Hopefully the participants in those sectionals feel the same.
  7. Rodney, you and Vince McMahon would make a hell of a partnership.
  8. I picked Norwell over Chatard about five weeks ago. I'll stand by that statement.
  9. Correct. No excuses with their resources.
  10. No. In my opinion, Norwell beats Columbia City 8 of 10 times. That game woke the Knights up. We'll find out how good they are if they beat Chatard, your #17 team. Remember, I said they "might" be as high as #15. They'll have to beat Chatard for me to make a case for them to be that high. Right now I like them in the #22 position.
  11. Norwell could be as high as 15. I think Chatard will have their hands full with them. I don't think it's off base to think they are currently #22. Maybe it's my northern bias, we'll find out. Good poll Temp.
  12. Likewise. Could be a good game.
  13. His track record speaks for itself. Good coaching + growing suburban enrollment = extremely dangerous.
  14. Penn could also say that they've improved since Week 3. There's certainly nothing wrong with thinking Fishers, Westfield, and HSE would be Carroll head to head. Given past performance, that would be the best bet. Anyway, the Crown Point/Carroll winner facing off against HSE/Westfield will have some intrigue to it. From what I remember about Carroll's game against Snider, they're not flashy by any means. They just get the job done. Quality all over the field.
  15. You've been optimistic regarding Westfield all season long, even when they didn't look so great at the beginning of the year. Turns out you knew something all along. The Rocks are looking good. I think it's out of bounds for some to say that Carroll isn't on the same playing field as Indy's best this year considering they beat Penn by a larger margin than Cathedral did and Homestead by a larger margin than HSE did. Winning 35-7 was an eye opener, but fans in Indy seem to want to turn a blind eye to it. The Chargers have a lot to prove, I get it considering how Indy has dominated 6A. Crown Point is really good and then the inevitable..............HSE/Westfield comes to town.
  16. They took Cathedral to the wire and had a pretty good season before getting dominated by Carroll. I don't think it's unreasonable to think that Carroll can't hang with Indy's best............unless we're strictly going by results of the past.
  17. Shame Westfield isn't still in 5A. They've had some good battles in the past.
  18. Seeding the entire tournament would defeat the purpose of sectionals (meaning you play the teams in your area), regionals (playing teams in your region) and semi-state (this region vs that region).
  19. Carroll beat Warsaw by 36 last year against that same run oriented Warsaw offense. Carroll is better this year. They win by 28 easily if they put their best foot forward.
  20. Elaborate a bit more on this if you don't mind.
  21. Sounds good to me. I like watching both Snider and Dwenger go deep in the tournament.
  22. I'm not sure how Notre Dame will do against a ranked opponent at home. They look really good against ranked opponents on the road. Then they look really bad against unranked opponents at home. I'm not sure which direction to go in the Clemson game. It really depends on which Uiagalelei shows up. As bad as Notre Dame is at home, I don't think Clemson has a chance unless their quarterback puts together his best performance of the season.
  23. Warsaw at Carroll - Warsaw is in for a long night. This Carroll team is built for a deep run. Chargers by 35 North Side at Snider - Snider's the better team, but field appears to be level when these two teams play. Snider by 7 Leo at Columbia City - Decent first season for Doerffler, but Leo will be cleaning out their lockers. Columbia City by 14 Yorktown at Norwell - Knights woke up after the CC game. They roll by 21 Bishop Luers at Eastside - If history repeats itself, this game will be decided by a touchdown or less. Home team wins. Eastside by 7 Eastbrook at Bluffton - Not really familiar with either team. With what I do know, I'll take Eastbrook by 7 Adams Central at Northfield - It's not a matter of who wins, it's by how much. Adams Central by 28
  24. 35-7 over Penn is eye popping. Even the Indy folks can attest to that. I respect Temp's poll. He's ready to bounce Carroll and Snider like a yoyo. Could be up, could be down. We'll have answers after semi-state. I will say that Carroll's win over Penn should have put them at #5. He's being cautious. Right now I have Carroll over Fishers and Westfield with Snider right about even with them.
  25. I like Dwenger as a 4A program right now. When they dominate 4A, I'll wish them back to 5A.......it's human nature. I have no problem with the Saints playing in the class that coincides with their enrollment. I would venture to guess that over 95% of their players come out of their feeder schools.
