  1. North is hungry for a sectional title. They'll be hard to stop.
  2. All bets are off when Merrillville gets waxed by Chesterton. To each their own.
  3. Which begs the question: Did Elkhart sit starters? For most coaches, I would say pride in getting the win trumps resting a player for the tournament. The rest option is fine, but at least play him for a couple of quarters. When a team has momentum, don't do anything to kill it.
  4. Agree. New Prairie is intriguing. So is Columbia City after defeating Norwell. I think Northwood vs New Prairie is a push at this point, with Columbia City chomping at the bit.
  5. Reported by Bears62 last night: Crown Point 35 Michigan City 3 3:04 3Q
  6. The team with the lessor amount of home games always hosts. All things being equal, the host team is the one on the bottom of the bracket. Carroll would host Warsaw since the Tigers already hosted a game and Carroll did not. Elkhart would host Carroll since neither team hosted yet and Elkhart is at the bottom of the bracket.
  7. It really makes you wonder if they were sitting guys for one reason or another. If you look at the body of work of both programs over the course of the season, the final score makes no sense whatsoever.
  8. Merrillville still at #18 even after last night's performance? Were they resting starters?
  9. 6A is loaded this year. The North is just as exciting as the South.
  10. Lol, that's about right.
  11. Norwell/Columbia City rivals Brownsburg/HSE for game of the night. Columbia City completes the 4th quarter comeback on the road 25-24.
  12. Norwell going down? Columbia City takes lead with 49 seconds left.
  13. Snider's deep. They keep plugging in new guys and are scoring at will. The 2A Knights are worn down.
  14. Penalties killing Wayne. Touchdown called back now penalties aiding Carroll drive.
  15. Tonight? Two weeks away 🙂
  16. Carroll could lose Penn, Elkhart, or Crown Point and it wouldn't change my opinion.
  17. He played in 2012 and 2013. It was the 2012 team that upended Penn. Then they lost to Merrillville by 29. Bowed out to Carmel by 31 in 2013. These last two years are easily the best teams Carroll has ever fielded. Warsaw's claim to fame was in 2000 and 2001. Those were some good football teams.
  18. 2014? No offense, but that's funny. Both New Haven and Columbia City took Carroll to overtime and Carmel beat them by 49 points. That team would get trounced by the 2022 version. Penn, Elkhart, and Warsaw are no slouches, but poor Homestead drew Hamilton Southeastern and Fishers. I agree that Carroll lucked out a bit. But the sectional they drew is a beast in it's own right. Then Crown Point comes to town. If they can get through that, then they might just be battle tested enough to give HSE/Fishers a run for their money.
  19. This will be a good game. I give Carroll a slight edge, but Penn is at home. It's a coin toss in my opinion.
  20. I think Carroll's offenses in '20 & '21 were slightly better than this years version. This team has a better defense though. Regardless, it all equates to Carroll's best team ever. Unfortunately, I think there is still a gap between them and the top 5 or 6 teams out of Indy. As stated in a previous post, they're like a yoyo under Yoeman. But hey, can anyone really replace Geesman?
  21. You're not the only one. At the minimum I thought they would pick up a 5A school. But that's coming from a fan with no inside ties to the program. They have a quality coaching staff. Maybe there is a method to their madness.
  22. Thanks for the heads up on Snider/Penn. I would have been shocked if the two teams didn't at least look into it. Snider signed a four year deal with East Noble.
  23. Agree and agree. I think Snider let off the gas against Merrillville in 2012 after taking a commanding lead. LC beat Snider by 24, Merrillville would have been worse. I always maintained that Snider, Ben Davis, and Merrillville were all on equal footing in 1992. Someone had to win. I also maintain that Merrillville is the team to beat in 2022. They've earned that target.
