  1. That's easy for you to say because your school is the second largest in the state and your trophy box is already full. No disrespect 93, your a good poster on this site. I just HIGHLY disagree with you on this.
  2. Eight more teams who have a shot at the title. Warsaw being one of those teams. Would the Tigers be a threat to MIC supremacy with their new coach and an enrollment of 4000? The answer to that is yes, give them the same opportunity to play for a title that the mega schools have.
  3. It could be as simple as have a board of five members making the decisions on this. One from each area of the state........central, northeast, northwest, southwest, and southeast. No different than the committee that decides seeding in the NCAA Basketball Tournament or the Football Playoff Selection Committee. AP Rankings, Sagarin, Gridiron Rankings, strength of schedule, etc., could all be utilized in deciding who gets a bye and who doesn't.
  4. The three largest schools winning 15 of the last 20 big school championships isn't just coincidence.
  5. Now you're just getting carried away. Sixty four teams was never right. Thirty two was better, but not quite right. What's wrong with trying to get closer to "right?" You can actually intelligently debate that 24 teams is no more "right" than 32? We're taking eight teams out of a class they don't belong in and putting them in their own weight class.............how is that not right!?!?
  6. New Pal and Snider could say the same thing. There's nothing wrong with fighting for what is right on behalf of the masses.
  7. You'll exhaust yourself if you do. At CG's enrollment level, there isn't even an iota of a chance that they'll be in anything but the largest school division. And CG will never catch up with Carmel as the Greyhounds success goes back five decades. Center Grove's success is more recent with the hiring of Eric Moore.
  8. LC won "a" big school title. So have some other small programs. How many do Carmel, Ben Davis, and WC have? Westfield joins a long list of schools who were "runner-up" to larger enrollment schools.
  9. Correct, still a big gap. BUT..............under DT's proposal, eight teams will get a shot at playing in Lucas Oil in their own weight class who otherwise would have no chance at winning a state championship.
  10. Actually, no. Everybody just wants an opportunity to compete in their own weight class.
  11. Center grove is 2500 strong and growing. Why not give the bottom eight in enrollment an opportunity? Outside of Zionsville, the other proposed schools are more than likely sitting at a stagnant population.
  12. Pretty easy to say for someone who is affiliated with the Mega School Conference. DT's proposal gives eight more teams an opportunity to win the state title who otherwise would have a chance of slim to none.
  13. Any correlation between a program's following on this forum and the respective coach taking the time to complete the interview?
  14. There won't be any shame in finishing 5-4 in the SAC this year. The teams at the top are pretty good. Dwenger is one of those top teams. The Saints are a strong contender to win the bell.
  15. Snider and Dwenger being in the same sectional is an epic first time event, and contrary to Dwenger/Luers and Snider/Northrop............Snider vs Dwenger is the biggest and best rivalry in Fort Wayne. And it has been for what's going on it's fifth decade. I think there is a "presumption" that they will meet..........just no guarantee.
  16. I thought Tyler Eifert was overrated. From that point forward I decided to defer to the scouting reports. They do a pretty solid job.
  17. Why is it that a person feels the need to stop supporting a high school program because their kids don't go there anymore? Doesn't it make more sense to support the kids in your own community than a university or professional team that you have absolutely no ties with? Some things in life just don't make any sense to me..........that's one of them.
  18. You can still be the best team in the state and not have a player ranked in the Top 22. No shame in that.
  19. There's been speculation for years that Homestead would be the next Carmel or Center Grove. But there is that ceiling they've hit every year since Zolman took over in 2004. I'm not ready to say there is a changing of the guard just yet. They are the defending two time SAC champs, but Snider had two VERY down years. Dwenger lost leads both years against the Spartans and were just inches from beating them twice. Homestead does seem to be a different team since joining the SAC though. If they pull off the hat trick this year, I'll be sold. But not until then. The upside lays at Carroll. Dinan hasn't done much since joining the SAC, but he does have a sectional title to his credit after uprooting Penn in 2012. The north side of Fort Wayne is one of the fastest growing areas in the state and Carroll's facilities are as good as any. Changing of the guard? Not quite yet, but stay tuned. Dinan learned from one of the best. Snider and Dwenger are still the kingpins of the SAC in my opinion. We really need to see Homestead or Carroll compete at the Regional level. That's the only thing holding them back right now.
  20. Good post. Thanks DT. Some of the best content this forum has ever seen.
