  1. Northrop big? No love for HN's second year coach?
  2. Lol, I was kind of joking. Seriously though, I do think the GID poll is the better one.
  3. They haven't done it yet. But then again, they are normally on the down tick when they bump up to 3A. We'll see what this year brings.
  4. No, it just seems strange to me...........and I'm not singling out Michigan because we know that the entirety of the NCAA is a train wreck......that Notre Dame has to give up losses because their players cheated on a test when we know that there are athletes at some schools who don't even go to class and have tutors do everything for them. I think about it every time Michigan is touted as the winningest program, which they are. But ND should be right behind them, not squeaky clean Bama and OSU.
  5. With all the other nasty crap surrounding college football, I find it comical that the NCAA makes Notre Dame vacate wins because their players we're caught cheating on an exam(s). Damn, at least it's proof that their kids go to class.
  6. The seven point spread.
  7. I wouldn't trust that. Every article has an ulterior motive nowadays. Trump understands economics, Harris does not. Bottom line.
  8. LSU, now Michigan. And ND was forced to vacate wins from two seasons in a row for academic misconduct. What am I missing?
  9. You lost me. Explain.
  10. You're being generous. Give me Noblesville to cover.
  11. Tempted (no pun intended) to go to this game. The thing about North Side, when you punch them, they punch back. They don't care that they don't have much history backing them. They wanna play football. This is a typical 6A vs 5A (almost 4A) game. One has more resources than the other. LN will be too much. Ditto on the score.
  12. You might want to refer to the GID poll. I look at these rankings and it confuses me to see Center Grove at #7.
  13. If Avon beat Jeff, you guys would be touting how good the HCC is from top to bottom like you all did in 2019 when winless Noblesville took SAC champ Homestead to overtime. Now that Jeff gets a nice win, Avon is "bad" and "terrible." I spent some time looking back on older threads and I don't see any references to "bad" and "terrible" when Avon lost to Brownsburg by 5pts last season. Unless of course you have reason to believe they are worse this year than they were last.
  14. Fans on this forum are focused on one thing: High school football. Throw the coaches poll out the window. I doubt coaches have time to do the research needed to come up with an accurate poll. Out the window with media polls. They have their hands in too many pots and are typically biased toward their region. The GID poll is the only one that matters.
  15. Thank you. You want victories over the HCC & MIC from other areas of the state, you've got one. Cut the Bronchos some slack. Jeff beat a team from the most brutal conference by multiple scores, let them flex for awhile. Never said you did. Only a few on this forum will know what I'm referencing.
  16. Bubble not broken all the way over here in NE Indiana. Thanks for your insight. Not sure why the narrative changes though when the HCC's bottom team takes the SAC's team to overtime. At that point, the HCC was "very good" from top to bottom. But whatever.
  17. I should have stated "many", "most", or "by and large." By stating "everyone", that implied you as well. It does have it's flaws, but I think it gives a as good of a read on our sport as anything. It's just not the 'be all end all' like some think it is. I actually think this is a ridiculous conversation. To imply that that Avon is terrible is to imply that over 290 of Indiana's 316 are also "terrible." Indianapolis has dominated football for so long, and for the most part, still do. I hate that Indy posters get so defensive when a team from Indy does lose. Give Jeff some credit for crying out loud.
  18. So they're not "terrible?" You're not stupid, actually one of the smarter posters on this forum, so I'll use your post as validation that Lafayette Jeff didn't beat a terrible program.
  19. Since everyone on here loves Sagarin so much: Avon ended last season within a field goal of Northwood, Indy Lutheran, Valpo, Franklin Central, Lawrence Central, Carmel, Reitz, and Leo. Ranked higher than: Carroll, Mishawaka, Adams Central, Merrillville, Heritage Hills, and Warsaw. Football in Indiana is in a "terrible" state of affairs apparently.
  20. Polls this early in the season are just for pretend.
  21. Avon also beat Noblesville by a larger margin than Brownsburg did. Can we really say that Avon is "terrible?"
  22. It was brought to my attention in 2019 that the HCC's worst team is on the same level as the SAC's top team. So the narrative over the last several years has been that the HCC's bottom teams are still very good.
  23. Is it fair to go back 25 seasons? The three Snider losses were between 2002 & 2012. Were HCC teams even in the same stratosphere as Snider during that time? Damn, what would have Lawrence Central, Warren Central, and Ben Davis done to an HCC team during that time? We're not talking 25 points here, I'm thinking 63.
  24. Good work. I'm seeing 7-12 and four of those games were decided by less than a touchdown, three by less than a field goal. However they are 6-6 going back 12 years. Almost every Indy school is on Snider's list of victims historically, so I'm not sure where you're going with this.
  25. Probably not a fair statement about Snider. But you do you. You guys are stretching tonight for every excuse you can find to justify why the HCC is zero for the last two years vs True North.
