That’s where we are different.  I want ND to go 0-12 annually…unless they are playing an $EC school or O$U.

Speaking of which, am I allowed to use yesterday’s Notre Dame performance as an indictment of Ohio State?

    A man can dream, right?

Why so much hate for Notre Dame? What did Freeman or any of the players ever do to you? Personally, I think it's pretty cool that a little college in the state that I reside is the most storied college football program of all time.

Are you saying that Ohio State and Marshall are on a level playing field right now?

When I get a minute this afternoon I will go through the old threads and dig up your posts dancing on Kelly’s grave and anointing Freeman the savior before he ever coached a regular season game.

Lol, I'm glad you have that kind of time.

If I were the Notre Dame AD, I would have 100% hired Marcus Freeman. I'm 100% still on board with Marcus Freeman. And I'm 100% aware of the risk. You've never taken a risk before? Still bagging groceries at Kroger?

I mean, my Michigan fandom has nothing to do with the topic so you bringing it up is a bit bizarre.

Were the shoe on the other foot, I’d fully expect (and have (App State/Toledo)) others to dance on my grave.

We all flock to this site daily as fans of the greatest sport in the world and it has its peaks and valleys.  We sulk, we celebrate.  It’s what makes fandom what it is.

You won't get that from me. College football is better when Michigan is good.

  4. Michigan is better than Notre Dame this year, so what. Notre Dame will be lucky to win 8 games, who cares. At the end of they day, we're nothing but a bunch of cheerleaders. And those getting the last laugh are the ones with the seven figure income.

It’s why I laugh when guys like @BTFsay there are 20-30 guys who could do Day’s job better than him. Recruiting is one thing, and honestly it’s half the battle. But you have to be able able to coach. See Jimbo Fisher.

Freeman’s young and I’m sure he’ll eventually figure out, but way too many ND fans refused to see the inherent risks of hiring a coordinator with no head coaching experience.

Laugh all you want. Most coaches aren't privy to the recruiting opportunities that Day is blessed with. It's similar to programs like Adams Central and Pioneer. We'll never know if they truly are the best programs in the state of Indiana because they're not privy to the same resources that Center Grove has.

Name one Irish fan that didn't see the risk in hiring a coordinator with no head coaching experience.

They very well could. I count 8 top 25 that lost yesterday.

Even better than that top 4, in the show 2 weeks ago, Desmond Howard had Pittsburgh as a playoff team.

Crazy week for sure. I'm not ready to leave the Irish for dead just yet. My biggest concern is............how good is Tommy Rees? Kelly played a big role in the offense when he was there.

You've got to hand it to Pittsburgh though. There's definitely more to this program than Kenny Pickett.

  7. 1.    Georgia

    2.    Ohio State

    3.    Alabama

    4.    Michigan

I like the guy, but his homerism is showing here. I've got OSU at #4 behind Alabama and Michigan.

Here's a receipt for the forum posters. Marshall will be Top 25 at some point this season.

But 3a is very watered down this year, similarly to how 5a is but not quite as much.

Homerism at it's finest. You only think 5a is watered down because your Indy brother Cathedral isn't there. 5A north is looking pretty fierce right now. Something Zionsville wouldn't survive if they were still there.

    Freeman honeymoon over yet?

Conceding the game in the 4th quarter last week hasn’t really seemed to give Buchner a vote of confidence, and he’s not that good to begin with.

You're looking good for a week, I'll give you that.

I hate to admit it, but Paul Finebaum was right.  This is not a championship contending Notre Dame team.

Not even close. Buchner missing deep targets the entire game doesn't help. If I'm making millions and off to an 0-3 start, I'm starting Pyne the next game.

Notre Dame looks like a +100 team today.  If they gave this effort last week, tOSU would have beat 'em by 50.

Freeman's got a lot of work to do to get his team back after this performance!

Just because they have a good defense. I'll put them somewhere between 20-25. This offense is struggling. Maybe because Rees was given "full control?" Pyne was a stud when he played Wisconsin. Unfortunately he has that 3 star label.

  12. 13 minutes ago, PHJIrish said:

I agree!  There are more receivers on the field besides #87 too!  Give Pyne the 2nd half start.  It can't be much worse.  I kind of hope this turns out to be like the Cathedral/Penn game when the Irish came alive in the 2nd half, but I'm kind of worried about this one.

If the bowl game last year was any indication, Freeman doesn't believe in switching quarterbacks mid game.............even though it worked the entire year.

  13. 7 minutes ago, PHJIrish said:

Not a good performance from the Irish today.  Maybe a letdown from last week.  Buchner looks really bad. It looks like they'll be behind Marshall at halftime.

Last year they brought in Pyne for the Wisconsin game. He bailed the Irish out then we didn't see him for the rest of the year. I wish they'd give him a legitimate shot.

    Lol.

I don't like Notre Dame, that doesn't stop me from being objective. Notre Dame devised a wonderful game plan last week against Ohio State.

    Thought you'd stop there 🙂

And at the end of the day, you just have to tip you hat to ND. They have a very good front 7 and had a masterful defensive plan. Will credit Freeman in that regard.

Notre Dame has a very good OL

Five Notre Dame compliments in one post? Are you feeling ok?

Trying to figure out ND's best win the last 5 years and wondering how they've made it into the CFP 3 of the last 5 years.

A bunch of unqualified bozo's on the committee? Only twice in the last 5 years, but one could certainly argue that they qualified for three.

I am hesitant to call him a top tier coach just yet.

I'm sure there are 20-30 NCAA coaches and a handful of Indiana High School coaches who could do what Day has does with the talent at his disposal.
