  1. Rumors and 50 cents can get you a senior coffee at McDonald's. Both about as equally filling too.
  2. It looks like Monrovia and West Vigo are both teetering on that 2/3A line. West Vigo would be in 29 instead of South Vermillion if they were 3A, unless they bumped down Monrovia. With Mish Marian as a favorite up north, I assume Guerin will stay north so a P/P matchup at Lucas is impossible.
  3. Is HH Central? I really only pay attention to Lincoln City's time zone when we go to Holiday World, which we didn't get to do this summer. LOL I assumed it was Eastern, but if it's central, than I agree with your breakdown.
  4. I like the thinking. But as much as I try, I think HH or SR go to 31, similar to the alignments in 2015 and 16. 29 - Put in Indian Creek for VL 30 - Edgewood for IC 31 - HH or SR for Edgewood - Probably HH 32 - VL added
  5. @Tanka Jahari Has to recognize the greatness of the Big Cat. How many other videographers lead the team on field (breaking the cheerleader banner in the process) and then turn around and run the EZ camera. His work at Danville 2017 grants him legendary status.
  6. Providence or Rock Creek to North Daviess would be 2 hours/100 miles minimum, probably closer to 125-130 if they decide to take interstates. South of US 50, the football playing schools are so spread out, sectional travel can get pretty long. That’s another reason I wish the state would allow co-op teams for those students a chance to play. The entire Blue Chip Conference with schools like Barr Reeve, Loogootee, Shoals, NE Dubois, Washington Catholic, Rivet, South Knox and Wood Memorial are all small schools in that geographical area.
  7. You referring to your own idea as a "brilliant move" reminds me of George Constanza. Jerk store? It's a smart line. I'm not gonna dumb it down for some bonehead mass audience!
  8. That's hilarious. I have never seen that before. My response was going to be "What happens at a school-wide pep session if someone doesn't lean to the left, lean to the right, stand up, and sit down?' But that scene fits that description too! 😃
  9. Evansville has a coordinating council, so Mater Dei and Memorial have the same tuition and salary rate for teachers. The same rate and number of coaching stipends for athletics as well. A member of an east side parish that attends Mater Dei does pay slightly more and vice versa for westsiders that attend Memorial. Non-parishioners pay about $3,000 more than parishioners. My general feeling is that the non-Catholic/non-parishioner population is where the majority of enrollment losses for the two schools has occurred. The new, better located North HS, public charter Signature school, and newly created Evansville Christian HS have attracted the families interested in private schooling environment without the Catholic faith.
  10. If you wanted to argue Mooresville or Mt Vernon were the second best team in 4A, I would listen. Trying to argue Dwenger is better because they should have beaten Zionsville? That’s just asinine.
  11. Here, here! I will gladly toast the IHSAA leadership for the guts to see the fall sports season through. I hope they have the same resolve for winter sports as well. My son has classmates who have spent weekends out of state for travel soccer and volleyball during the month of November. I would 100x rather support the education based model of IHSAA over club sports.
  12. I really like what Zionsville is doing defensively, just have to get off the field. At Half: Cathedral is 2/6 on 3rd down. Good. But 2/3 on 4th and throw in the roughing as well. Bad. That’s a lot of drive-extending plays being made by the Irish. Give them credit. They have made all the plays but sheesh that is frustrating for Zionsville.
  13. I agree that Evansville North will most likely be 5A. But adding the TH schools and BNL to the 4A mix will be a new change. With those coming down and it looks like Brebeuf, Roncalli, and Chatard will all be in the same sectional. At least that means Marion, Western, and Muncie Central will no longer be forced to 4A ‘South.’
  14. Success factor and gerrymandered sectional 28. Opened up the 3A south quite nicely.
  15. Chatard as the visitors wear blue for the intro video. Danville brings 5 guys when the IHSAA says to bring 4. The rules don’t apply to these teams. Lol Looking forward to a good game
  16. Thanks. The announcers kept saying west side but I wasn’t sure where exactly.
  17. My Indianapolis geography and knowledge of IPS are pretty weak. Where is Covenant Christian? Would it be considered in the Northwest, Howe, or Washington districts? (I think those are now closed IPS schools.) Or would it be in Ben Davis or Pike?
  18. The US Census Bureau and OMB consider Boone County and Thorntown as part of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) for what very little it’s worth. With a broader definition, if you can sleep in your own bed and take less than a 45 minute bus trip to get to Lucas Oil, you count as an Indy area school to a team from Ft Wayne, Evansville, or the region.
  19. I have to agree. That was the 2pt play call for a team that has out-athleted teams and never had to get creative.
  20. After they let the CC receiver jump into the crowd to celebrate their first TD with fans, nothing surprises me. I know I am an old school guy, but you can’t let a HS kid Lambeau Leap with no flag, IMO.
  21. Fat guy interception! My favorite play in football.
  22. Not so fast my friend. SA looks much better offensively now that every pass isn’t a drop back pass.
  23. In my opinion, size and athleticism doesn’t account for the 27 unanswered points. SA has had chances to make play offensively and need to tackle in space defensively.
