  1. I am amazed by the disparity between the the very top teams in some classes and the rest of the class. (Especially 4A North) 4A is a good example. Silver Creek was undefeated and ranked. They got waxed by EC in sectionals. We will soon have more data to see how good Brebuf/EC/Roncalli/Chatard/GC are since there are a lot of common oppenents. I have heard comments that Chatard looks small this year. 3 or 4 years ago I thought the same thing about Roncalli's linemen when they lined up against Chatard.
  2. Mooresville and East Central?
  3. Do they SIAC schools still play 8th grade "cub" football?
  4. Roncalli has 52 on the FR team this year. Biggest FR group in years.
  5. On Friday they did a jumbo set where the pulled a WR and had all 6 lined up.
  6. Boy things sure do get salty in South East Indiana this time of year.
  7. East Central was 6. Evansville Central was 11 with 18 votes.
  8. I really don’t understand how voters drop Memorial out of the top 10 if they think Jasper is #6 since it was a close game and then move Central into the poll. But as I mentioned, votes are scattered all over the place.
  9. 4A is really wacky. They have by far the most number of teams receiving votes. Can’t comment on GC, but I saw Attucks last year. Maybe 20 players on that team. Should be playing against 1A schools.
  10. So I am kind of curious how Roncalli got less votes this week (91) than in the preseaon poll (93) after getting 9/10 first place votes this week. Center Grove and Cathedral got all 10 first place votes in their classes and got 100 votes. Does that mean whover voted Jasper first in their one poll had Roncalli at #10? (9 first plates = 90 points, one #10 = 1 point?)
  11. 1 Roncalli (9) 1-0 91 2 Mooresville 1-0 80 3 East Central 1-0 55 4 East Noble 1-0 55 5 Leo 1-0 41 6 Jasper (1) 1-0 38 7 Chatard 0-1 34 8 Delta 1-0 25 9 Evansville Central 0-1 21 10 New Prairie 1-0 21 Others receiving votes: Pendleton Heights 1-0 (17), Columbia City 1-0 (13), Mt. Vernon (Fortville) 0-1 (12), Hobart 0-1 (11), Martinsville 1-0 (11), Indpls Attucks 0-1 (8), Northridge 1-0 (7), Ev. Memorial 0-1 (4), Northview 1-0 (4), Greenfield Central 0-1 (1), Logansport 1-0 (1)
  12. Jasper-Memeorial broadcast is on the Jasper Station YouTube.
  13. Was the game streamed anywhere?
  14. That on was the young lady they have kicking?
  15. My over reaction from last night: Roncalli Mooresville East Central Leo East Nobel Chatard Jasper Mt. Vernon Hobart Memorial
  16. Replacing all 5 OL and both leading rushers. That could be a problem.
  17. Wasn't Hurley on the 88 Memorial team with Ken Mills that lost to Roncalli in semistate 3-0? I was in HS back then and everyone thought that was one of the best teams ever at Memorial.
  18. Secrest is going to Central Michigan on scholarship As the guy said, Lauck is going to be at Big10, SEC or ND. Skartvedt is very athletic. (On the BBall team.) Expect him to be playing somewhere in two years. Ray is prototypical guard size. Plus this is the group that started the season last year, so they have experiance and proved it once already. They really abused Mooresville and the two Purdue recruits last year.
  19. Roncalli has him listed at 6'3" . I am blaming DT! 😁
  20. DT you have a typo. The Ray kid is listed at 6'3" on the Roncalli roster.
  21. Nice size for 3A. Linemen are where you win games.
  22. Looks like DT made a mistake. The Ray kid is "only" 6'3" per the Roncalli roster
  23. I will pile on to this: More teams and smaller teams means more coaching goes to those fewer individuals.
  24. With the two "new" lineman, does GS have the beef in the trenches to compete with these larger schools. (CN and NA) Seemed to recall that Whiteland and CN kind of pushed them around last year.
  25. Funny thing is my 5'11" 170lb son had to guard all of them except Meek in 7th or 8th grade CYO basketball. The Junior's had caught a lot of eyes at the middle school level because of the size they could see coming up as a group. The article leaves out the other side of the ball: DT Brady Neu - Jr - 6'4" 270: Started last year and lead team in sacks DT Luke Swartz - Jr - 6'1" 292: Start ~6 games as a Fr They are going to be big the next two years. After that, the size drops off back to normal levels. (The year Roncolli plays Cathedrals 🙄)
