  1. There you go, bringing facts and data up again! 😁 I have been out of town a while, but never would have guessed MD had more SIAC titles than Castle. I think the two 5A titles Lidy won influenced the perception of Castle (maybe rightfully so, not meant to be a knock at all).
  2. Rex Mundi was the North Side Catholic school. (Memorial = Eastside, MD = Westside) it was on first ave and I believe it is now still the Ivy Tech building. I have heard that there was not the enrollment to keep it. (My dad graduated from MD around the time it closed)
  3. Running all over the place. Roncalli is all Jr and So on their lines.
  4. Roncalli 30 FC 6 Lot of turnovers for FC (3) after Roncalli gives up a turnover on a punt snap that I did not see.
  5. The talk at Roncalli during their FR season was that the 2017 seniors would be the class that would take Roncalli back to state. 2016 seniors got their a year early behind a great OL and a QB who never made a mistake in the clutch. 2017 seniors then had to deal with success factor and a bad sectional draw.
  6. The CYO talent is why they think the talent is in the soon to be Jr (Roncalli schools won 2 out of three division playoffs) and soon to be Sophmores (St Jude won big school CYO division).
  7. The opinion of many is that the talent is in the classes that will be Jr and So next year. The QB (Jr) will be into his 3rd year starting. Never played QB until 8th grade.
  8. Luers, Franklin Central and Hobart make strong cases what could happen when coaches leave. FC has not made it to the finals since Stephens left, Hobart did not win a sectional for 19 years aftrer Howell left and Luers has not been the same state title competitor since their coaching change. I know there are a couple of other factors (FC changed classes due to population increases).
  9. I also like that it gives a few more points to the deeper playoff runs. Makes up for some teams being weaker sectionals. What a fun topic!
  10. Penn 5 titles and 7 RU. Though some of the RU losses were pretty one sided.
  11. Can you rank Hobart and not have Franklin Central? Hobart made a run this year, but most of their glory days are around the same time as FC's. Same amount of titles, a few less runner up.
  12. Interesting formula that poses an interesting question: Should the value of a state title be more? Would you rather win 2 state titles and those be your only deep runs in the playoffs or win 15 sectionals and maybe get to LOS only once and loose? (Coming from a MD grad)
  13. Nick Hart at Gibson Southern? Seems young to me but I am getting old.
  14. Yes, seen DC play and they have some jets. I just think the size differential on paper really stands out. But that is why the play the game. Will be interesting to see how it goes.
  15. Memorial have enough speed to overcome Mooresville size? Just a comment from looking at the rosters. Mooresville has a couple of 6'4"-6'6" 285lb guys.
  16. Roncalli can really push around smaller lines like GC and Secina. Announcers said GC only had one deffensive starter over 200lbs. I also think their Sophmores are developing. Another comment made was that Leffler never played QB until 8th grade year, so he is really learning the position. (True, I know the family). He is starting to throw better.
  17. Southport QB is very talented kid that killed Roncalli with his legs. I guess he was All State WR last year when they had the Schott kid at QB. (Now QB at Ball State)
