  1. The Irish had a slow start, but lead 21-7 at halftime. It looks like they did some serious work, during the bye week, with Riley Leonard throwing the quick slants, and it's paid off.
  2. Things sure have changed since Saban retired at 'Bama! They're scuffling, at home, against South Carolina today.
  3. That doesn't include the Sacred Heart and Chartrand years. The Cathedral/Sacred Heart years were some of the most classic football in both school's history. And there were stretches when the Irish was on the losing end for extended periods.
  4. Cathedral 35, Roncalli 6
  5. Cathedral 35, Roncalli 6 I'm not sure if the Irish had a letdown or what happened, but they looked quit ordinary offensively, except for a couple of touchdown passes. And sadly Roncalli has decided that this was the last game between the two schools for awhile.
  6. It better be a really big rabbit! The Boilers are massive underdogs again this week, and will probably have a tough time covering.
  7. Catholics vs. Catholics is usually hard hitting and fun football. I sure hope that describes tonight's game at Butler. I hope to see a lot of Irish fans at the Bowl tonight. And the weather shouldn't be a factor tonight. The last two times Cathedral has played at the Butler Bowl, it has rained.
  8. There will be no letdown in this game. This is a big rivalry and both teams will be made aware of that.
  9. No wonder they show up late.
  10. I really like playing at the Butler Bowl, but I don't care much for the $10 charge to park in their parking lot. Other than that the sight lines are good with no running track around the playing field.
  11. No bigger rival for these two schools than each other! I'm glad they're back playing each other again.
  12. Cathedral's win against Center Grove, 49-45, was very entertaining, unless of course you prefer a defensive battle. I really enjoy watching two skilled teams going at it. Lots of big plays, and the Irish even played a bit of defense in the 4th quarter.
  13. I only watch to see how many targets and catches Jaron Tibbs gets. I feel bad for him!
  14. I finally received the JV score. Center Grove 37, Cathedral 7. Winning 2 of 3 from Center Grove is a good week for the Irish.
  15. Oh my!

Even Bobref would agree that was DPI! Blatant non call!
  17. 'Bama might not be worthy after today's loss!
  18. That's a big one, maybe the biggest in many years!
  19. Center Grove/Cathedral put up 94 points, and CG was scoreless in the 4th quarter.
  20. A lot of the students come from a legacy background. That's how I went to Cathedral back in 1957, as my brother had graduated a few years before that. I would have been a family outcast if I'd chosen any other school. As far as nowadays, it's really a family decision as tuition is quite expensive for a lot of families. Some go to Cathedral for the excellent academics and some for the successful athletics. As for a district, no Cathedral has no real boundaries. Young people and their families make a decision that Cathedral is the right place for them. And, I might, add, that Cathedral isn't for everyone.
  21. Well, the OC wasn't the only problem for the Boilers. It's a shame to watch how far they've fallen, and I'm not really a Boiler fan. Coach Walters has to held accountable for this abysmal season.
  22. Wisconsin 21, Purdue 6 at halftime. Nothing much different from weeks past for the Boilers.
  23. To each his own. I enjoy watching skilled players doing their thing. There also was some stout defense played by the Irish in the fourth quarter. I have a freshman score: Cathedral 25, Center Grove 14. The Irish frosh are still unbeaten. I don't have a JV score yet, but I've been told that Cathedral lost the JV game.
