  1. I'll be watching!
  2. Yeah, if you're going to change it make it a full hour. Oh well, that's more than I expected.
  3. I remember that well!😊
  4. I guess nothing has changed for this game. I have not received, nor can I find, any change from the 7PM start. I still can't remember why or when gametimes changed from 8PM to 7PM. It makes more sense for a later start for all games, imho.
  5. Those towers are actually Central Soya, where I worked for a few days when I was quite young. They housed a bunch of beans. I'm not sure they're still in business. I found the history of Central Soya: Central Soya Company, Inc. - Company Profile, Information, Business Description, History, Background Information on Central Soya Company, Inc. (referenceforbusiness.com)
  6. I still remember those days whenever I drive by whatever CYO Field is called today. That game in that picture must have been an out of town school, or a non Cathedral game. That must be a CYO jamboree picture on second thought. I also played CYO ball my 8th grade year on that field. It was hard! I caught a pass for about a 3 yard gain that day.
  7. CYO Field was grass at the beginning of the season, but not much was left at the end of the season. With Cathedral, Scecina and Sacred Heart all playing home games on that field, and Cadet football on Sundays, it got used up pretty badly. Varsity games were played on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in those days. Field Turf is not as hot as the original Astro-Turf and some of the artificial "grass" that was on fields in the early days. Field Turf is quite "grasslike" nowadays in fact.
  8. IMO, and I'm just a viewer and not an all in fan, is that he was injured last year and he needs to have a good final contract year to prove that he deserves elite money. He's an asset when healthy. I think Irsay has dealt with him on an honest basis.
  9. And Ben Davis?
  10. There doesn't seem to be much early week interest in this game.
  11. In the late 1950's and early 1960's, when I went to school, our games started at 8PM, but you had to be at CYO Field by 6PM to get a seat at most games. I realize that's back in the dark ages, but we were on Central Time, here in Indianapolis, at that time also. It was a lot more civilized, imho.
  12. Cathedral is at Brownsburg Friday night.
  13. The "BIG" over/under is at about 20 now. We will need a new scorecard for next year, for sure.
  14. This should be a dandy! Lots of D1 talent as both teams look pretty balanced on both sides of the ball. And both teams will be well rested.😉
  15. Just don't get into a fuss with him. It's useless and ongoing! If he knew a tenth of what he thinks he knows he'd be at the games instead of at home pecking on a keyboard.
  16. Cathedral Freshman 33, Lafayette Jeff Freshman 6 final. I can't find a JV score. If someone has it, please pass it along.
  17. We'll all know more about our teams this time next week.
  18. Yeah, we'll know more about Cathedral and Brownsburg after next Friday night.
  19. It was a shame that the Bronchos were without their starting RB and QB. That's tough to overcome. Final score Cathedral 55, Lafayette Jeff 14. It was 35-0 at halftime and with the running clock in the 2nd half, even the officials forgot to change ends after the 3rd quarter. The running clock goes real fast. In a way it's a shame because a lot of young players lost the chance for more varsity minutes. Good luck to Jeff the rest of the season! It sounds like at least their starting QB should be back soon.
  20. Will the IHSAA/Champions Network be free tomorrow night for this game? I have some old friends who want to see the game but can't get downtown.
  21. Notre Dame will remain an Independent as long as I'm alive. Well, I'm 80 years old so that's not a very bold statement.😉
  22. The season starts TOMORROW! This game will be played, as part of the Horseshoe Classic, at Lucas Oil Stadium and it will be the first game at 6PM. I hope to see a lot of Irish fans downtown tomorrow night!
  23. Cathedral football will again be broadcast on Radio 1260AM in Indy. A lot of the Irish games will be preempted on radio by Indianapolis Indians baseball and Purdue sports. All games will be available online.
