  1. I've seen teams penalized because they were not ready to begin the game or the second half. Some were even on the sideline when penalized.
  2. So the fair catch signal counts even if the ball hits the ground and the receiver catches it on the bounce? That's what we thought last night. It didn't matter in the outcome of the game, which was good. There were no penalty yards stepped off. Thanks, Bob!
  3. Brownsburg punted the ball and Cathedral's returner signaled for a fair catch. A Brownsburg player ran between the ball and the returner preventing the Cathedral receiver to catch in the air. The ball hit the ground and the Cathedral returner then picked up the ball on the first bounce and tried to advance the ball. Would this just be a delay of the game penalty for calling for a fair catch and then trying to advance it after it hit the ground? After a lengthy conversation the officials placed the ball back at the line or scrimmage, with no penalty, and Brownsburg was allowed to rekick. I don't remember seein this situation in all my years of watching Cathedral football, or football in general.
  4. We played Whiteland there last year in the playoffs. Tech used to be our primary "home field" but Arlington became available and we've been there the last 3 or 4 years primarily. We have taken over the maintenance on the field, so it's quite playable normally. It is still a grass field.
  5. Arlington has been Cathedral's home field for a few years now. It's close to Cathedral and available are the main reasons, imo.
  6. We counted Irish 110, Brownsburg 20. This is unofficial of course. It seemed with every flag there was a long conversation among the officials before assessing the penalties. It seemed that Brownsburg was tough to run on tonight. Hoping the Irish can get some offensive confidence against Penn next week.
  7. Irish win 20-7. Th Irish offense is still a work in process, but QB Danny O'Neil did throw an 80 yard TD to Jaron Tibbs in the first quarter. The Irish defense was stout, except for the Brownsburg drive that resulted in their only score in the 3rd quarter. The Bulldogs ran at will and seemed to have found a weakness in the Irish defense, but the coaches made some adjustments and the defense stiffened the rest of the game. Next up for Cathedral is Penn at Arlington next Friday.
  8. Cathedral 20, Brownsburg 7. Irish offense is still a work in process although Danny O'Neil did throw an 80 yard TD to Jaron Tibbs.
  9. Indiana High School Football Ratings Page (sagarin.com) Westfield ranked #92? Now that's silly!🤣
  10. Just four hours before game time! I hope to see a lot of Irish fans at Brownsburg tonight!
  11. Back home again in Indiana!☺️
  12. It's good to be back!☺️
  13. HS football is a true value at any price!☺️
  14. All rankings are just for fun and discussion. The only ranking that matters happens immediately after Thanksgiving.
  15. Thanks for posting the Freshman and JV scores!
  16. I agree with this assessment!
  17. Tickets are bought and ready to go!☺️
  18. This should be a good one and it's only about 7 miles from my home.🙂
  19. I have two questions. Why have "senior day" on opening night? Also, where was any traffic control leaving the lot Friday night? It took almost as much time to get off the lot as it took to get home to the east side of Indy/ Outstanding facility!
