He calls it castles miracle in bloomington. Which is not really even close to the miracle south pulled off over nationally ranked castle in 83 , riding a 20 some odd game win streak . Just saying castles win last night was good but . . . . . . .. .

Possibly, south put it on e north so their w wasnt that shabby either . Beating Bhsn was great but I mean bhsn lost to a bad roncalli team and ths who south trounced. So even though bhsn had a real good season I think a lot of people were getting ahead of themselves thinking b north was due for a big tourney run after basically having losing seasons for the last several years . Castle had a freshman QB last night . If we found out anything it was that castle doesn't have a kicking game to speak about. Wish I could make it down this year but I wont be able too. I went to the 2015 and 2016 games between these teams . Should be great hope there is a webstream by someone

Wow what happened to the arties. Wheels fell off after their monumental win at bhss?

Basically all 4 of the tournament games between bhss/ castle will have been played at castle only game at bhss was the regular season game this year . 'If'south were to win I think they again would have to drive south to face the winner of the floyd central game. Only reason I bring up that scenario is because I dont like they protocol for who gets to be the home team for the exact reason that after next friday b south will have had to play castle every time in the tournament at castle. Anyways on paper I think south wins however I thought the same thing in 2015 so south will have to play their best game of the year to go down and get a dub

I am not going to pick against castle i did that in 2015 and was burned. Castle did something bhss didnt this year and that was beat bhsn. South has some players on the sidelines and still handled e north but in all sincerity i think castle / bhss is a toss up. I think one of souths d lineman was out because he threw a punch the last week of the regular season hopefully he comes back sounds like south will need everyone to be healthy,. Difference this week will be that south has a different qb than they did week 1. But qb has not been souths strong point this season . The thing that still bothers me is the home away protocol. This will be the 5th time south has played castle. 4 of those games will have been on the road and next year i believe the teams will be playing week 1 at castle.

Looks like a rematch of an old rivalry. Sounds like it will be a toss up. South beat the knights in week 1 but week one doesn't mean a whole lot. BHSS 49 -20 winners CHS 28-21 Overtime Winners

I agree about south. Seems like ever since 2016 or so injuries/diciplinary have been factors every year and they haven't been able to build up much in-season continuity and improvement. Add in the ever increasing boundary of school district that benefits bhsn more then bhss by moving farther and farther south and well it just ain't what it used to be. Not to be the town crier but ........ lots of historically panther communities are going to north nowadays. Given the history of bhs/bhss being in the top ten in all time football wins and all time state titles in all sports that really means those communities care about high school athletics and always have . Hopefully the school board will vote out their districting policy and we can get back to more logical districting. No excuses but if there were excuses that would be it. And yeah i think bhsn wins the sectional this season and probably for the next two years ........ Their qb is a soph i think and he has some youth starting alongside him now.

Well game night has arrived. Not much interest in this sectional.. Siac vs CI Going to predict a CI sweep. Not sure which siac team has a better chance at winning tonight. Possibly castle but bhsn is a real good team this year it seems. Safe travels for the siac teams .

When did the mid state form? I remember the arties were a member of CI and before that the SCC. Did they leave and then come back?

@Lysander I did not make it to the game. South puzzles me they had good win here and there this season then nothing for a couple games. Really aren't strong enough at qb, but I had some high Hope's for them. Is chatard home to turn or was that real grass u saw in twitter .

Really wanted to see south make a better game of this, struggled at qb all year. I dont see south making it out of their sectional . I needed to see more from them last night I didn't expect a w but wanted to see a respectable 14-21 point or better . . . . . . 42-7 . Granted we know chatard is numero uno in 3 a . I think they have more to offer in football and basketball. Northview is pretty good but really once they have to play outside their conference they fall pretty easily. Seymour ha s a football pedigree of sorts. Been to state and have a great gym for basketball games.

Would rather have seymour than northview .

The year goes by so slow then hs fgootball gets here and i can barely keep up. The Terre Haute north game will be vs the winner or DC and Plainfield which i believe honestly either of those teams will beat thn........ Nov 1st Sectional games. Indpls. Tech @ Southport Columbus North @ Franklin Central Terre Haute South at Indianapolis Cathedral Terre Haute North @ Plainfield or Decatur Central Castle @ Bloomington North Sadly after years of lobbying by bhsn supporters the school board has moved the districts in monroe county considerably south of bhss stealing long time panther communities and now are going to b north lots of talent from these parts of town . The panther empire has been torn down not sure if we will ever get those places back until then b north may have an advantage on which team gets out of the sectional. Evansville North @ Bloomington South E North's HC was the coach at eastern greene a few years back when they made it to state . After south showed little to no life at chatard i just dont know who to pick ill follow the predictor on this one i guess.

Was looking for a chatard station didnt find one. Jim Gordillo is the ht rep at the south game and he updates games at a snails pace ............

Bring back the S.C.C. South Central Conference. Had a core group of teams from . . . . well south central indiana. Made great sense. Would need to steal a team or two from the hoosier hills conference like seymour(former member of the scc) and possibly bedford or columbus east. But even the scc had some teams that werent technically in south central indiana. Shelbyville, Rushville, Connersville were closer to indy than bloomington of Columbus,. And Center Grove was a member for a few years. Of course martinsville was a long time member. Martinsville seems to be a lock for mid state for decades to come. Used to be a big conference game every year between them and bhss for a long time .

Hmm I went to the link but dudnt see anything prior to 2014 but I'm scrolling through it on my phone. Are the old games there am I missing it still? Opps nevermind I see it now.

Thx guys that was quick. I used to be a lot better at 'internetting' finding stuff 0n websites I played with a lot of those guys but had graduated by the time they won it. Have pondered what ever happened to Elmer Britton. He would be getting up there in age by now . . . . .either way it was a great game on the edge of my seat through it all.

After visiting the ihsaa website I am scratching my head on how to purchase old state title games. Wouldn't mind getting the 93 5a game. Anyone know how you can get those? I remember buying the 97 title game 10 years ago maybe the ihsaa stopped selling the old games?

With half the field eliminated how are we going to fill all the weeks up till thanksgiving weekend with games. Add a few regular season games i guess?

If I am reading the bracket correctly looks like both games will be played in bloomington . Castle @ bloomington n Evansville n @ Bloomington S. The sagarin sectional ratings has the bloomington schools neck and neck in ratings followed by the teams from down south . Probably expect to see an all bloomington sectional final. But never can tell how far either team may have progressed during the season .
