  1. Did Crown Point extend the field to 180 ft sideline to sideline and 360 ft goal line to goal line instead of 160 ft and 300 ft?
  2. Interesting facts Center Grove has won the last 8 meetings between Center Grove and Ben Davis and 11 of the last 13 meetings. At one time the Giants held a 10-2 advantage over the Trojans (in 2006). The Trojans now lead the series 19-15 over the Giants. In 2006 Ben Davis beat Center Grove 4-3, that is a odd Final Score of a game you don't see too often!
  3. Ben Davis has made many Offensive Lines look bad. Coming into the game they had 44 or 45 sacks on the year. Had O'Neil not suffered a knee injury he probably eludes some of those sacks in the 4th quarter like he did in the first half. There is no shame though Ben Davis' front 7 are THAT GOOD!
  4. I would give Knox a punchers chance if they were running Coach Radtke's Wishbone and playing at Broad Ripple. Due to IHSAA restrictions and @Lysander chagrin the Semi-State playing days at Broad Ripple are no longer. The Knox Redskins get to play at the shiny new (well not brand new but newish) palace at Kessler Blvd and Crittenden Ave instead of the pasture 1 mile Northwest from Chatard where bloodied knees and elbows were born. In all seriousness it is not probable that the Redskins will upset the Trojans but it's not impossible. The beauty of it is that's why we play the games they will have the chance to try and beat Chatard and getting that chance is all you can ask for. Now if only we could petition for a one last hurrah at Broad Ripple Ave and Compton St. all would be right in the @Lysander household!
  5. In my Opinion Westfield is a better passing team than Penn. They have a pretty solid WR and TE , and they run the ball very well. Their defense has seen some of the State's top WR's and RB's this season: JonAnthony Hall (Fishers), Donovan Hamilton (HSE), Eugene Hilton (Zionsville), Corey Smith (Brownsburg), Caydin Olinger (Brownsburg), Damarcus Cole (Lawrence Central), Garrett Sherrell (Brownsburg), Logan Shoffner (Noblesville), Khobie Martin (Fishers), Jalen Alexander (HSE). Crown Point will 100% be a worthy opponent (I do not see this being a blowout). They will score some points but I feel Westfield will score more and be capable of stopping Crown Point enough times to extend a lead. I foresee this being a 28-14 or 35-20 type of game. Calpreps had Westfield (IN) 31 (73%), Crown Point (IN) 22 (27%). I don't pay attention to the scores on there much but do look at the percentages. I just feel Crown Point isn't going to bring anything Westfield hasn't played against already.
  6. Westfield is pretty balanced they have rushed for 1,583 yards 23 TD's. Their Jr. RB has 1,099 yards 9 TD's and QB can run if needed also has 9 TD's rushing. Passing the QB is a Sr and Head Coaches son, he has thrown for 2,039 yds. 20 TD's 7 Int's completing 64% of his passes. They have 221 attempted passes and have ran the ball 385 times pretty balanced. Their Defense is well tested having played: New Palestine, Lawrence Central, Brownsburg, Fishers, Carmel (mediocre this year), and HSE 2 times. They also did okay against Noblesville 2 times (running the offense Laporte ran with Dave Sharp), but Crown Point does not run that type of offense. I think Westfield will win this game with a 28-14 or 35-20 type of game.
  7. No dog in the fight. He will get pressured from Ben Davis and likely even sacked a couple of times. Ben Davis likes to bring it and are very effective at doing so. That being said Ben Davis bringing pressure and the blitz at times will leave some open big plays that CG could hit. Timely screens can work too. Sometimes it is a gamble Ben Davis likes to gamble and bring relentless pressure at times in hopes it they get to the QB, but on the flip side it can leave some wide open pass plays if they hit quick enough.
  8. Let me repeat there. was. no. transitive. property. used. Transitive Property = USA beat Mexico and Mexico beat Canada so by transitive property USA beat Canada. Nowhere in there has Westfield played anyone that beat Crown Point or Penn. It is NOT transitive property. I've watched Penn play Cathedral (in person) and I have watched 2 Crown Point games (on film). I have seen multiple (4 to be exact 2 on film 2 in person) Westfield games. If you want more in depth I can give it. I stand 100% by what I stated. It won't be a blow out more of a 28-14, 35-20 type of game with Westfield winning. If I am wrong I will eat crow. For Pete's sake can the "transitive property" be put to rest as it wasn't even used.
  9. AMEN! Even watching a replay of his last play that was Intercepted. He put that ball in a good spot. TE just leaped a tad bit too early allowing it to sail over his fingers into 2 defenders. He gave it everything he had in that game and while being hurt never panicked.
  10. 2000 Center Grove beat Ben Davis 30-28 in Semi-State. Ben Davis was led by James Banks, but Center Grove stunned them at Ben Davis in the Semi-State. Ben Davis had beaten CG in the regular season 29-14. CG went to their first State Championship and lost to Penn 21-0. 2000 also Plainfield beat Cathedral 14-7 in Sectional Semi-Final. Plainfield was good and undefeated for sure, but most fully expected Cathedral to win that game. Cathedral won State in 1998 and 1999, the Irish were undefeated coming into the game led by Otis Shannon. Plainfield stunned everyone that night. Plainfield went on to make it to the State Championship losing to East Noble 28-7. There was almost another one in 5A in 1999 when Arlington had Ben Davis on the ropes in Regionals. Arlington led the game 15-13 with seconds to go. Ben Davis kicked a long FG (I want to say 50 yarder but my memory escapes me) to win the game 16-15. Ben Davis went on to beat Penn in the State Championship game eventually 27-3. Had Arlington won that game it would have been an upset.
  11. This is my personal thought only and won't be a popular opinion. After watching Cathedral put a running clock on Penn 35-0 at half 35-6 final (Penn had a PR for TD late in the game), and Crown Point struggle to a 34-33 win over the Kingsmen I don't foresee Crown Point being a threat to Westfield. I don't think CP will get blown out but more like a 28-14, 35-20 type of game. Westfield has to travel to Crown Point which is a positive for CP. Granted I know Penn has likely improved since playing Cathedral and Crown Point has improved, but I believe Westfield has improved as well . Outside of the Brownsburg and Zionsville game Westfield has been pretty solid all year long.
  12. They don't have a football team yet. I am think Coach D is waiting for Coach K to retire and move down there to start up a football team in "The Villages" he already has the portable megaphone ready to pull out of the drawer!
  13. One thing of note. With Bo Polston back for Decatur Central, that is not great news for 5A. I wasn't sure if he would be coming back when he went down against Whiteland earlier in the year. Decatur Central without Polston was mediocre, with him though they are pretty solid! Bloomington South at Decatur Central should be a good one. I will take the Hawks since they are playing at home with a trip to Lucas Oil.
  14. Contreras was the name and he did have a couple of nice punt returns. Weird game on the kicking side with onside and pop up kicks, fake punts, big punt returns. While Zachary's name gets mentioned a lot Contreras is a stud at his safety position.

  16. The photo doesn't quite do it justice as it was prior to the catch.
  17. O'Neil was tough as nails last night. His first Interception (pick 6) was the fault of the WR not his. He would have been much more effective had he not sustained the knee injury in the 3rd qtr. He was still effective but he couldn't escape some of the pressure late in the game at times as his knee got worse. I commend him for gutting it out and still making plays. The Irish defense I thought played outstanding giving up only 20 points to a Ben Davis team averaging 42 points per game. It should have been only 13 points given up as right before the half Ben Davis got a TD pass after being gifted a first down from the officials when the Irish stopped Ben Davis on 4th and short that wasn't even close. Officiating struggled with spotting the ball the entire game. The Irish still made several big time 4th down stops. I still can't get out of my head THE AMAZING CATCH Slaughter #8 for Cathedral made at the 1 yard line!! Anyone who didn't watch that game needs to go back and watch it just for that 1 catch, it was truly amazing. He jumped in the air with the defender there catches it then pins it to the defenders helmet/shoulder pads on the way down all the way to the ground maintaining possession. Definitely a highlight reel. Ben Davis' kicker got redemption kicking that 40 yarder after missing his first FG of the game. The one player that aside from the kicker that played lights out was the BD running Back Price. He fought hard even though the Irish were keeping him at bay most of the game. His TD run was huge and he had a big time short pass he turned into major yards. Both teams definitely left it all out on the field in all 3 aspects of the game. Ben Davis escaped healthier from this game than Cathedral would have with O'Neil banged up. The Center Grove at Ben Davis game will be another good one
  18. Step one is admitting you have a problem. All kidding aside most of what people say is just assumptions, accusations, etc. They have no clue haven't stepped foot in the doors and have nothing to back up their claims. Most of it is "so and so said that so and so (insert any recruit allegation). Gather a group of 20 people whisper a true fact in one persons ear and tell them to pass it on, by the time you get to the 20th person you would be amazed at how twisted what you said became.
  19. Just because they have options doesn't mean they aren't a feeder school. Public School kids have options too in the major cities in Indiana does that make them not a true feeder school to the local public school? Open Enrollment is another animal in and of itself.
  20. Yes! So was Larry Highbaugh and many more. Do you think Coach Springer and the basketball coach had some disagreements when it came to some of these players🤣?
  21. Washington High School was still pretty good until Coach Springer retired and his traditional T formation left with him. Talk about a man that coached some studs in his career!
  22. How many of you all showed up at Thanksgiving and Christmas to offer Turkey and Ham?!
