  1. Avon looked to make strides last year and I think they would like to take next steps. Decatur Central always has some talented players, they were a very slow starter last year though with that loss to Columbus North 41-15. I think it should be a good game but I may lean more towards Avon. I wouldn't put a huge spread on the Cathedral Ben Davis game. The Giants last year looked to me as a team with a new Offensive CoOrdinator who was still learning his players and the players were still learning the OC's system. As that started to click you saw them get MUCH better. Should be a very good game at the Butler Bowl to open the season.
  2. How many of that 19K you think came from when it was spammed with explicit content? I didn't have many issues with DT he was a pretty good dart thrower! There were a couple of issues through the years I had with him. He definitely was under the impression the GID would be nowhere without him, yet it is still standing.
  3. Harris landed 10th on the list of top Running backs with 1,865 yds, 9.56 ypc and 24 TD's. By comparison New Pal's RB Ranes had 2,238 yds 10.17 ypc and 30 TD's. Jonanthony Hall playing for Fishers in the HHC I would say played against much stiffer competition than Clark throughout the season.
  4. Jack Kiser having received an offer from Notre Dame does not mean that the offer was a full ride athletic scholarship at the time he was offered. Most don't receive full ride athletic scholarships maybe only 1% receive full ride athletic scholarships nationwide (not just Notre Dame).
  5. Here is my problem with a multiplier and why I prefer a success factor: Western H.S. has 791 students and Gibson Southern has 771 students. Gibson Southern is 99-21 over the last 10 years (7-3 this year) and Western 49-54 over the last 10 years (0-10 this year). Both are public schools so is Gibson Southern's 771 students times 1.65 (or whatever multiplier you have chosen) better than Western's 791? Heritage Hills has 635 students and Owen Valley has 650 students. Heritage Hills is 91-29 over the last 10 years (14-1 this year)and Owen Valley is 44-62 over the last 10 years (0-10 this year). Both are Public Schools so is Heritage Hills 635 students times 1.65 (or whatever multiplier you have chosen) better than Owen Valley's 650. Bishop Chatard has 730 students and is 104-32 over the last 10 years (9-3 this year). You feel Bishop Chatard's 730 students are 1.65 times better than Gibson Southern's 771 and Heritage Hills 635 because of the type of students they don't have to count. However what you don't look at is with a 1.65 (or whatever multiplier you have chosen) this will also be applied to Hammond Bishop Noll's 617 Students. Because you also feel Hammond Noll 617 students should be counted as 1.65 (or whatever multiplier you have chosen) because of the students they don't have to count like Heritage Hills and Gibson Southern do. Hammond Bishop Noll is 8-80 over the last 10 years (this year one of their most successful years at 3-7). This is why I don't like the multiplier, the multiplier will be applied to ALL Private/Parochial schools equally and they are not ALL equally as successful just like not ALL Public schools are equally successful or not successful. At least the success factor looks towards the success of every school and bumps up the successful schools. No the success factor is not perfect and needs tweaks to make it better. You can't convince me in any way that a multiplier is needed when you have Private Parochial schools like Hammond Noll. You only look at the successful Private / Parochial schools because it fits your narrative.
  6. Being a Private/Parochail doesn't make them not have student with physical disabilities. Some do have students with physical disabilities that cannot participate in athletics. Also Roncalli High School has their STARS program.
  7. I get your sentiment but I think the difficulty with this is the positions he played WR and DB. Neither position puts the ball in his hands on every play like it would for say a QB or RB. On defense he was a difference maker on every play, be it throwing away from him or making you pay if you throw to his side of the field. Offensively he was a difference maker if the ball was in his hand, but at WR you are not going to touch the ball every play like a QB.
  8. It worked well for them from 2002 - 2007. 4 State Titles in 6 years.
  9. They did play with Bell JR (Defensive Lineman) in the backfield any time they got in side the 15 yard line and he was a beast running the ball. It seemed as though everyone knew who was getting the ball in that situation and nobody could stop them. It happened later in the season, but they had to get down to the 15. Their offense was a little baffling at times. They had Garnett III at RB who was a pretty solid RB for Westfield the year prior. He ended the season with 726 yards and 8 TD's much lower than I had expected. Their biggest struggle was QB play. One of their QB's completed 76 of 166 (45%) for 746 yds 6 TD's 9 Int's the other was 58 of 116 (50%) for 754 yds 7 TD's 6 Int's. There just wasn't consistent play at QB, one was a Junior and the other a Soph. And had great success with Bell at RB he was pretty much a bulldozer.
  10. They had a shut down prime time Defense. Unfortunately their Offense was not very good at all. The kids on the top 50 list were very deserving of it.
  11. Having boarding houses wouldn't automatically make them IMG Academy. The most notable school in Indiana that is a boarding school and plays football is Culver Academies.
  12. Exaggerate much? The only boarding schools in Kentucky are: Oneida Baptist Institute Lexington Catholic High School Oakdale Christian Academy Francis Parker School of Louisville Red Bird Christian School Mount Carmel School Villa Madonna Academy
  13. Anytime someone says they would root for an SEC school over any other conference team or Independant. Notre Dame pee in your cheerios?
  14. Fair enough. That is why I asked what your criteria is for significance. When it comes to this game between Indiana and Notre Dame. I personally am and always will be a Notre Dame fan, so I will be cheering on the Irish no matter what. Indiana has been fun to watch through the season when I have had the chance to watch them. At the risk of being proved wrong I think Notre Dame will have the upper hand in the trenches both Offensively and Defensively and that is where it will be decided. I will eat my crow if Indiana proves me wrong.
  15. What would you define as significant? Is only the National Championship significant? Are Big Ten regular season champions, National Championship game, Final Four not significant? Just trying to determine where the goal line you have set is, because if strictly winning the National Title is the only thing of significance then you are correct (and a lot of teams fall into that category). Indiana in basketball were Big Ten regular season champions in 1991, 1993, 2002, 2013, and 2016. Indiana Basketball reached the Final Four in 1992 and 2002. Indiana Basketball reached the Championship game in 2002 losing to Maryland in the National Championship 64-52.
  16. I knew Avon's QB was injured earlier in the year (I wasn't sure what the injury was), I did not know he came back for sectionals. Brownsburg was going to be a tough mountain for Avon to climb regardless. Where do you think the culture went wrong. The previous HC has had a good track record and has been a very solid coach. Even had success with Avon. A record of 92-56 over a 12 year period, the last 2 years they were 3-18. I for one would love to see Avon get back on track and stay there. definitely plenty of talent walking those halls.
  17. When it comes to the HHC it can be very unpredictable. Hamilton Southeastern was no slouch, the Brownsburg loss to HSE was disappointing but in all honesty not surprising with what we have seen in the HCC lately. Any close game between Avon and Brownsburg never surprises me because it is a bitter rivalry. While Ben Davis ended 5-6 they were finding their mojo at the end of the season. Ben Davis was a monkey on Brownsburg's back that they finally dropped. Yes Westfield was very capable of winning both times they played Brownsburg, but Brownsburg persevered. That was going to be a battle no matter how you looked at it. Yeah I know Trinity beat (#1,253) Carmel which would have been a solid win any other year but this year. Carmel just wasn't that good this year at 3-7. Their loss to Brebeuf solidified to me that they were not going to do anything this year. They have brought back a solid Head Coach in Kevin Wright, so we will see what they look like next year. Don't let my posts come off the wrong way. I respect your Top 100 and know how difficult it is to focus nationally. I just couldn't get behind Trinity over Brownsburg. I actually feel the top 4 in Brownsburg's conference would do very well against Trinity. From Indiana I think this year Brownsburg, Westfield, Lawrence North, and Cathedral would all beat Trinity (Center Grove already did). I would not say that is the case every year though.
  18. I understand how difficult it is doing a Top 100 Nationally. I just can not under any circumstance get behind Trinity (KY) being ranked above Brownsburg (IN). Maybe I am just far to familiar with the Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky football to get behind it. Trinity's best win was over a 10-4 St. Xavier (OH) team in Louisville 7-3, the same St. X team that Cathedral lost to 35-31 on a last minute drive. However Trinity lost to a 8-5 Center Grove 24-10 in Louisville. Trinity (#378 Freeman ratings) in the Kentucky 6A playoffs has beaten: (#11247)Southern (2-9) 63-0, (#3593) Fern Creek (6-6) 45-0, (#1999) Ballard (6-7) 35-21, and (#755) Frederick Douglass (9-5) 17-0. They play (#324) Ryle (12-2) for the 6A State Championship. Trinity is 12-2 with losses to (#128) Center Grove and (#928) St. Xavier (KY) their rival. Trinity's opponents this year are 92-80. Brownsburg (#28 Freeman Ratings) in the Indiana 6A playoffs has beaten: (#633) Avon (3-7) {Rivalry} 21-13, (#375) Ben Davis (5-6) 38-35, (#54) Lawrence North 22-21, (#128) Center Grove 31-27, (#56) Westfield 22-17 in the 6A State Championship. Brownsburg finished 13-1 with their lone loss being to (#372) Hamilton Southeastern. Brownsburg's opponents this year are 92-69. That has been an impressive run through the playoffs against some pretty solid teams even if they were close games. Just my 2 cents
  19. Baltimore St. Francis Academy is well worth being ranked at 11th. I am just more curious why Louisville Trinity (having lost to Center Grove in Louisville) is ranked above Brownsburg (who beat CG at CG). Having stated that I know it is tough to compile a Top 100 nationally.
  20. At least you can gather my poor humor and joking. I like to rattle @Lysander cage every now and then and remind him it is okay to laugh even if it means spitting coffee on your computer screen or phone!

  22. Armed with his dangerous wire cutters, never knew at that time the importance they would play to the 2023 comeback! You can't fathom the Acts of Contrition completed going on that Friday night for Saturday's game!!
  23. Kevin Wright has taken the Head Coaching position at Carmel. So that decision has already been made. For any coach that gets hired to take the Sheridan HC job they will have some big shoes to fill. As @Bobref mentioned they might want to work on their tumbling/gymnastics skills too.
  24. I will 100% agree on this statement. The IHSAA on the other hand did complain when the 2015 Gibson Southern at Chatard was scheduled to be played on the Field of Champions! The IHSAA complained so much that the game was moved to Lawrence North forcing @Lysander to leave his lawn chair in the storage on the roof of Compton Court Apartments. What a glorious sight it would have been to see Lysander peering over Compton St and the visiting Gibson Southern fans in a driving snow storm to watch the Trojans and Titans square off in what became an epic 29-20 battle!
