Sounds like a fun chat. Maybe incorporate the preference by some to move the successful privates (and dominant publics) based on Calpreps Dynasty rating. I realize that is a bit much but not sure how much of a geek you are for this. Looking forward to seeing the thread. I’d be glad to help if you need it.

I’m just going to set it up with the system we have now. If Lutheran ends up in a 32 team 1A (SPOILER ALERT! They would) then that’s how I’ll have it on my classification lists. I’ll leave it up to everyone else to argue whether that’s fair or not.

Not sure why you're so angry over this. I think a good healthy debate is okay. At the end of the day both sides make a good argument. Who cares. One thing we can all agree on, and I implore that the IHSAA takes it into consideration, is to make 1A the other 32 team class. But would that water down 4A? Are the teams that are dominating 4A the larger enrollment schools? Without doing any research, I'd love to see New Pal, Roncalli, Reitz, and East Central competing with Snider, Valpo, Merrillville, and Whiteland. What I'd love more is for Snider to win state this year so that they get bumped up to 6A, that'll really give people something to bitch about regarding 5A North. Snider gets to resume competition against the likes of Carmel, Fishers, HSE, and Penn............if of course they survive Carroll and Homestead (wow, it's a new era for sure). East Central bumps up, Cathedral bumps down, creating a force in 5A South. Is 5A still weak at that point? Or does one team make a difference? I think I'll just go back to "who cares."

I’m putting together a list of classifications for the scenario of a 32 team 1A and a 32 team 6A. I might just create a new topic thread since it’s not really relevant to the subject of this one. Stay tuned.

I grew up watching Dick the Bruiser at the Memorial Coliseum wrestling The Sheik and countless other villains. One of my all time favorite wrestlers

Dick the Bruiser, the Crusher, Wilbur Snyder, Bobo Brazil, Baron von Raschke, the Valiants, the Blackjacks, Bobby Heenan…All WWA legends.

I know all about Dick the Bruiser.  His name was William Afflis and he played football 4 years at Lafayette Jeff.  He played guard and was an All-State player.  His Senior year, in 1946, the Jeff football team went 7-1.  Jeff's only loss was to Indy Tech, but Tech had to forfeit.

He actually went to Shortridge his first two years of high school and played football there.

I recall as a young fella that Wilbur Snyder was the World's Most Scientific Wrestler. I would nominate Bobby Cox as the World's Most Scientific Athletic Commissioner.

I’m curious as to how many people on here actually know who Wilbur Snyder is. The young folks have probably never heard of him. Heck, most don’t even know Dick the Bruiser which feels like a crime if you’re a Hoosier.

  6. This week’s games (week 9):

BNL (5-3, 4-1 HHC) at Columbus East (3-5, 3-2 HHC)

    #8/#9 Floyd Central (7-1, 5-0 HHC) at New Albany (2-6, 2-3 HHC)

Jennings County (3-5, 0-5 HHC) at Jeffersonville (0-8, 0-5 HHC)

    Seymour (5-3) at #3 Bloomington South (7-1)

    Notes:

-Floyd Central remains #8 in the media poll but moved a spot to #9 in the coaches poll.

-Bloomington South is #3 in both polls.

-A BNL win and a Floyd Central loss would result in a shared HHC championship and would make BNL back-to-back champions for the first time since the 1980 and 1981 seasons.

-Jennings County and Jeffersonville are playing in a last place game. Jeffersonville finished in last place last year while Jennings County finished in last place in 2018, 2019 (with Madison), 2020, and 2021. You have to go back to 2015 to find a year in which a team aside from Madison finished below both Jennings County and Jeffersonville.

It'll never happen. The IHSAA is to bullheaded to accept another idea that isn't their own. They should be ashamed of themselves and embarrassed. No way should Tipp Valley be playing Chatard in the first round. East Noble vs New Haven in round one has turned Sectional 19 into a joke. Then the winner squared off against Leo. This is lunacy.

Seed the sectionals?! Are you insane?! Now why would the IHSAA give any merit to the regular season? Let everyone into the postseason and let everyone’s fates be determined by a machine!!! That’s the most fair!!! I think the real issue is that you guys want to take the fun out of it for the IHSAA by not allowing them to use their table tennis ball (not ping pong balls; it’s offensive) machine. They look forward to using that thing multiple times a year like any child would and the fact you guys want to take that away from them is un-Christian. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I didn't know that about the Elmore kid and hated to hear it. He was among two key returners on their basketball squad after getting hit hard by graduation after a great season last year. What kind of injury was it that would cancel out his basketball season?

I was told it was an ACL tear

  9. 6 minutes ago, Fkfootball said:

Yeah that's a shame. I would've loved to have seen him on the field. Might've been a better game. Although they need better offensive line play.

Again, injuries did them in. When I saw them at the beginning of the year, it was the most visually impressive I’ve seen their line look in a long time.

Would love to see what that Elmore kid can do when he gets healthy. 6"5? There may be potential there.

He’s a very good QB and a very good basketball player. Unfortunately, his sophomore year in both sports will only be comprised of nine quarters of football. He won’t get any in basketball due to his injury.

  11. Columbus East 25

    Jeffersonville 7

    Final

FC wins 56-14. Running clock in the 2nd half. Braun from JC is a pretty solid player, he just doesn't have much help. JC struggled mightily. Braun had a 62 yd TD run and then FC had some bad kick coverage to give up a KR for a TD. Bernardi scored 6 TDs for FC tonight.

Yeah Jennings County is a much different team than they were the first two weeks. Injuries wrecked them and made them one-dimensional offensively.

  12. This week’s games (week 8):

Columbus East (2-5, 2-2 HHC) at Jeffersonville (0-7, 0-4 HHC)

    Jennings County (3-4, 0-4 HHC) at #8/#10 Floyd Central (6-1, 4-0 HHC)

New Albany (2-5, 2-2 HHC) at Seymour (4-3, 3-2 HHC)

    Madison (1-6) at BNL (4-3)

    Notes:

-Floyd Central moved up to a tie with Decatur Central for #8 in the media poll. They also finally broke into the coaches poll where they are ranked #10.

-With a win, Floyd Central will clinch at least a share of their first HHC championship since 2003.
