  1. This week’s games (week 8):

Columbus East (2-5, 2-2 HHC) at Jeffersonville (0-7, 0-4 HHC)

    Jennings County (3-4, 0-4 HHC) at #8/#10 Floyd Central (6-1, 4-0 HHC)

New Albany (2-5, 2-2 HHC) at Seymour (4-3, 3-2 HHC)

    Madison (1-6) at BNL (4-3)

    Notes:

-Floyd Central moved up to a tie with Decatur Central for #8 in the media poll. They also finally broke into the coaches poll where they are ranked #10.

-With a win, Floyd Central will clinch at least a share of their first HHC championship since 2003.

That's part of it too. It's just not the blue collar community that it was 30 years ago. It was pretty much our fans, especially the parents, that made Glesing want to leave. Our community better be careful or they're gonna run off another good coach.

Apparently every school is running Glesing off these days. Four schools in the six years since leaving Floyd Central.

A lot of people here have money and are used to getting their way. That kind of mentality can spread like a virus.

Gotcha. I knew there was a lot of money there but didn’t want to assume that was the reason for it. You guys are very successful in athletics overall in the HHC so I wasn’t sure if that’s where the entitlement came from or the money itself.

We have a pretty entitled fanbase. Myself included. I know that I've brought a lot of it on myself, especially on this board. I just hope nobody holds it against coach Bragg or any his players. It's not them behaving like that.

Where would you say that entitlement comes from? Other than one fan after the East and Floyd Central game, I’ve never had an issue with Floyd Central. Then again, I’m not around you all enough to know.

Gee a guy posts one image of a baseball player on a football page and don’t check it for a day. Come back and see that chaos has ensued.  I guess it’s a good think I didn’t post a soccer player of this whole board may have fallen.

You would have had major heat with me if you’d posted a pic of a soccer player 😂

Congrats to FC on clinching a share of the conference. BNL, big call going for two, I’ll never argue a coach’s call on that.

It was definitely the right call. They just couldn’t execute it.

As for Floyd Central, they still have two HHC games left. Unless some sort of miracle happens in which they lose out to Jennings County and New Albany, they’re going to be champs for the first time in 20 years. Well-deserved. Coach Bragg, his staff, and all those kids deserve all the credit.

  7. Floyd Central 28

    BNL 27

    Final

I didn’t see a final score posted so I figured I’d add it. Found clips of the game on the BNL Athletics Twitter. Looks like BNL got a TD with 47 seconds left to pull within one. They went for two but the handoff to the RB wasn’t clean and it resulted with players falling on the ball. Floyd Central survives.

Kind of says it all about 5A doesn’t?

Frankly, most years as regards “true” 5A sized schools with the exception of Snider,  the 3A and 4A champs are likely better than the best 5A school.

I’d add that I have STRONG doubts as to either of the Bloomington teams being an actual top contender.  I expect the winner to come from the North…most likely Snider.

I recognize the Bloomington South team this year might be different from the South teams I have seen over the last 5-8 years when they played Circle City Conference teams but I always thought, personally, they were a little “spongy”.

Yeah I think Snider beats the winner of sectional 13 in the state championship. The Bloomington schools aren’t very reliable.
