  1. Reading the NP post again, I think I misread it initially. I initially had read it as they (NP) were joining the 5 former SAC schools at the high school level and that because of that the youth leagues were joining together. On second read, that does not appear to be the case. Still, it seems interesting that the post is apparently no longer posted on whichever account it originated from. Still, my apologies. The only excuse I can offer is that I had not yet had my coffee when I made that initial post so my brain was not operating at peak efficiency.
  2. Seeger would make no sense geographically, if that even matters. It's almost an hours drive to the closest of the five former SAC schools. The three Putnam County schools make the most sense for an eventual eight team conference down the road, so coupled with the quoted post below, I would definitely say one of those three, though I don't know as much about the WIC. Is this from Facebook? And if it is, is it still posted? I ask because this statement reads as if written by someone who is in the know but taken with the corresponding silence from North Putnam maybe wasn't supposed to let the cat out of the bag yet. Regardless, North Putnam does make the most sense as the sixth team and with the new league not starting until 2026-2027, that g8ves plenty of time to bring the other two Putnam County schools on board. The question remains: what do Lebanon, Tri-West, and Danville do? There are plenty of options I think for each, but what I can't figure out is why would they want to keep the Sagamore Conference name intact? If those three were each targeting separate or a joint move to other existing conferences, why are the othere five leaving of their own accord? Seems like this is simple one of many dominoes in West Central Indiana.
  3. Everyone is going to focus on the call at the end of the game, which is fine (though it was the correct call), but I have a different bone entirely to pick. @Bobref and our other fine official friends, is the so called "Double Cheek" QB sneak play not illegal in that it appears that the entire Philly offensive line is well into the neutral zone? I admittedly like the concept, and if pushing the QB forward is now perfectly legal am all for it, but the alignment of the interior OL makes my head explode.
  4. That was waaay harder than you would think it would be...
  5. Count me in the camp that honestly thinks the biggest issue with the Colts right now is that Irsay is way too involved and should let Ballard do his job. The QB issues over the past two seasons (getting rid of Wentz, which I think was a mistake, and benching Ryan, which was definitely a mistake) were direct Irsay decisions. Neither was the long term solution, but Irsay stepping definitely made things worse. Ballard may not be the guy, but Irsay's meddling has made it impossible to definitively say that. Edit: and for the record, I really like Irsay generally as an owner, I just really hate how he has handled this situation.
  6. As he should.
  7. https://saturdayoutwest.com/washington-state-cougars/washington-state-legend-luke-falk-recounts-incredible-mike-leach-story/ I should have paid more attention while he was still with us.
  8. That might be the greatest football coach prank I have ever read... RIP Coach
  9. My dad played for Coach Hummer during his run at FC. Always heard fantastic stories about that group of coaches. My prayers are with him and his family.
  10. Honestly, I could get behind Harbaugh as the HC, but I look forward to the day where we go more than one season without some kind of Andrew Luck related rumor.
  11. I actually do not mind that they are charging for the streaming, in this day and age that makes all the sense. What I can't quite figure out is that somehow I was able to watch all of last week's games for free. If you are going to charge, charge for the whole tournament, if you're not, then don't. Just not sure why the line is the Regional = free, Semi-state = pay, that's all...
  12. I must have missed where they were charging for the semi-state round, will they be doing this next weekend as well?
  13. I'm not ready to completely get my heart broken, but today sure didn't look like outcome B.
  14. That makes me feel a little better... not near enough, but a little...
  15. Really Bob? After that beat down that's the best you could come up with? I mean, you have more class than the DPU student section did today, but still...
  16. This game feels in a way like the inverse of the 2010 Bell Game. DePauw came in with a high powered offense and Wabash had struggled a bit, but we came out and absolutely DOMINATED from start to finish in a 47-0 shutout. Similar feel here: Wabash's offense had really been clicking coming in to today but has never really gotten going. Credit to DePauw, Rakestraw just pointed out on the broadcast that its been 25 years since a performance like this from them. Hope the boys in white take a long look at the celebration and a long look in the mirror after this one and let it burn for 365... Wabash Always Fights!
  17. Credit to DePauw defense, they totally have Thompson figured out right now. And our run defense, woof.
  18. I hate that it would appear that I am the only Little Giant to appear on the thread, but I would agree with @vanhalenfor6; this game is everything. This year the game is also for the NCAC title and a playoff birth but even that doesn't matter. It's always been said that you could lose every game but if you win the Bell game it doesn't matter. It looks like it will be a great day for football, a bit chilly and overcast. Both teams are obviously very solid, but it will be interesting to see what Wabash can scheme up against a very good DePauw defense. I looked at the game notes today and it very much appears to be strength on strength. Statistically, the Little Giants are better on the road, but their early season home match up against North Central skews that a bit. I heard that DPU's starting QB went down earlier in the season with an injury but returned for a few snaps last week. Operation Frijoles. The Mud Bowl. The Catch. DePauw blew a 21-0 lead. Just a few of the classics. DePauw to Hell, Let's keep the Bell, Go Wabash! And, as always, Wabash Always Fights!
  19. Observations on the first half of Saturday's first presser: 1. Dude has obviously been in the media for a while because he know how to win that room 2. The above said, I still liked what he said and specifically his "energy," which is a little cliché, but still matters 3. This presser, coupled with Buckner's comments about loving his honesty, should make Colts fans feel a little better about life (and I do mean a little). In short, it was about as good as you could expect. Let's see what the man can do, probably not much, but stranger things have happened. Unfortunately, they are at that weird spot where winning now may mean losing long term...
  20. I lost it here...
  21. This probably makes the most sense, although if true, I'm not sure why you wouldn't just give Saturday the "special assistant" tag now and hire an interim from within. That part still bugs me; if you want Saturday involved at some level that isn't coaching there is nothing keeping you from doing that now. He doesn't have to be a coach unless you want him to be, which Irsay obviously does.
  22. I don't have cable and thus haven't watched ESPN, aside from purchasing streaming to watch the College Football Playoff, in a long time, but it should also be noted that the clip that was posted was just that, a clip of a larger conversation. I would be curious to see where the rest of the segment went and what the larger context was. So yes, you are correct, there is no mention of race in the clip, but that doesn't mean that context doesn't matter and that clip is missing some context.
