Schefter reporting today, Pats and Vrabel working on contract.  You are welcome.  Easy to see this coming if you aren’t blind.

Aaron Glenn turned down the request by the Pats, smart move by him, he knew what was going down, the fluff rooney rule interviews of Leftwich and Pep Hamilton of all people.   Bears had to put Vrabel on the books, makes good nfl sense, but it was a long shot

For a number of years, when measuring coaching success making the playoffs was a plus. Since the latest expansion to the playoffs, I am not so sure it is what it once was. The Steelers lost their last 4 regular season games and made the playoffs.....and lost. Even before this expansion, the Eagles get rid of Andy Reid. And after all their success, Bill Bellichick is fired in New England.

The season is too long. Watching the games this weekend, there were a LOT of injuries. The playoffs seem to have become a battle of attrition.

Just a couple thoughts.

The Chiefs are good, no question about it, but 2 awful penalties for hits on Mahomes lead to KC getting 10 points. The 2nd one was the worst. The 2 defenders hit each other, plus, Mahomes was a runner. There have to be scenarios like this where he becomes JUST a runner and loses the slide protection.

UNS roughness on the rams, giving the rams a 1st down. The rams DB literally hit the ball with his shoulder, which dislodged the ball.  Another awful call by these “elite” crews.

For the tin foil folks

Chiefs are 18th team in the NFL who in rank on beneficial calls

Agree their needs to be more opportuinity for QBS to be officiated so they don't get to play the defenders easing up for more yards, not a fair standard of an already unfair standard on physicality of the position

assuming the penalty was for unprotected player under the stature that NFL goes by on that kind of play, no matter where the defender made contact (no head to head)

At this point, might as well have those bang bang calls get officiated in the booth then radio down, I would be fine with that

The penalties sure seem to benefit the chiefs at opportune times.

Two solid games today. While weather was a factor, both games came down to key possessions late. Of the 4 teams left, I think I am rooting for the Bills. It would not bother me if the Eagles or Commanders won......just not the Chiefs.

I wanted the Bills to win, but I hated see the game end like that. Would have been fun to see Allen lead a game winning drive or to see OT. My prefered list of Super Bowl winners:

  • Buffalo
  • Washington
  • Kansas City
  • Philly

Very, very rare I'll pull for a professional Philly sport team.
