Trotting out recycled idioms and tropes is an insult to what people saw with their own eyes.  You owned the loss, I'll give you that...but the "heated rivalry" nonsense is overboard.

Nah, more so I dug deeper into Evansville Memorial and was impressed.  Also, no way to keep Brebeuf out of the top 20 for the time being.  I mean, Carmel played Westfield down to the wire and Brebeuf beat Carmel...

Interceptions thrown directly between the numbers of defensive backs, coaching malpractice and 150+ combined penalty yards have nothing to do with the contest being a "heated rivalry." 

Unless something changes drastically, CG is licking its chops for the chance to play one, if not both of these two in the tournament.  Moore's teams don't beat themselves.

Well, the 2 teams have been playing for what...100 years?  Representing the East and West sides of Indy metro....yeah, I do think that game means something.

Perhaps they didn't play their best ball, but the defenses might have had something to contribute to that...coaching malpractice...well, its tough for any coach to match wits with you......then again, we all are 100% from our Lazy Boys....

Thanks for not speaking on the behalf of CG.  Those 3 schools have played classic, hard hitting games amongst each other over the past couple of decades plus.  CG knows anytime your playing one of those 2 schools, bring a lunchbox.  Certainly not licking their chops.

Who in the hell said the game didn't mean anything?  I was just standing up to the notion that the piss poor play had little to do with any "heated rivalry" or "bad blood."

An undisciplined team WILL NOT beat CG.  I am not sure why everyone in here is so bought into coach speak and afraid to speak realistically.  Did you even watch this game?

Warren threw an interception on the opening play of OT and all BD would have needed was a FG Bash.  I am not even sure I am running it three times.  Hell, I might kick on first down.

The gameplay was awful. You're right. Warren ended up being just a little better than Ben Davis. They made a play when it counted, but Ben Davis, by their own decisions, gave them the chance to do it. 

I haven't tried to give anyone an excuse for anything, and trust me...Temp...you didn't hurt my feelings. I just think it's hilarious how you just can't leave something like a three letter response and a period alone.

Because your three letter response was agreeing to the notion that the poor play was due to it being a “heated rivalry game.”

Then I give a handful of examples where the better team (similar to Warren > BD) in 2024 dominated a “heated rivalry game” and you want to change the story to my inability to let things go?

I give you credit on this post though.  You seem to be coming around on what really happened Friday night.

I can't speak for the BD coach...I know he has a pretty solid reputation and did a great job last season.  If they didn't kick it immediately, perhaps he knew something you didn't about his team?  I would be fairly shocked if kicking a FG as an option didn't formulate in his mind.  

I am just saying its a heck of a rivalry...and sometimes rivalry introduces emotion...emotion that increases the potential for human error.  Perhaps this year, while both teams are strong, they may not be as strong at certain positions.  While I won't say their play is due to rivalry history, I am saying I can understand if it did play some part with mistakes and perhaps trying to do things they shouldn't.

Also, you (like Easter) have skin in the game when it comes to these programs and choose your words wisely.  You default to “coach speak” and cringe at what the modern day shock jock and sports media guys seem “bulletin board material.”

I have zero skin in the game, call it like I see it, am right more often than I am wrong and for some odd reason it pisses you guys off to no end.
