I’m not sure HSE or Fishers deserve to drop after last night. Feel like Snider doesn’t belong anywhere near this list.

I think you meant to say "Snider doesn't belong on this list."

Yeah, nowhere near it.

They played Warren to a stalemate for a half and had played the Warriors better than anyone other than BD prior to last night.

So, is Warren overrated?

I mean they’ve been outscored 45-6 against 6A competition. Snider is a fringe top 50 Sagarin team as it stands today for a reason. Warren has a phenomenal defense but not a state title contender given their offensive issues. They needed 2OT’s to beat the first team with a pulse they’ve played all year and that team (Ben Davis) isn’t very good to begin with.

Here we go with Sagarin just five weeks into the season. Look, no one is saying Snider's a contender to win the 6A championship. That's only reserved for great programs like Cathedral. But you're "anywhere near" remark is, well, off the mark.

Midway through the season is when Sagarin starts to become more and more reliable. Sagarin suggests Snider is much closer to a top 50 team than a top 25 team. What has Snider done in your opinion to earn a top 25 ranking?

Furthermore, since you love Sagarin so much, East Noble is #35 and Snider hammered them. So please define "anywhere near." Look, Temp laughed the score last night, mostly because the games and scores, as he suggested, are just hard to figure out. It's hard for someone from two hours away to just "look at a score" and conclude that a team is pitiful..............which is what you're doing. A simple "Snider's too high in my opinion" would have been sufficient and made you look somewhat objective in the process.

When did I say they were Top 25? I'm just challenging your "anywhere near" remark.

I think you’re taking my comments too literally. I’m not suggesting there’s 100 teams better than Snider. It’s all figurative. I think Snider is in the 35-40 range based on resume.

Noted.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of Snider, that poll for the most part looks pretty darn accurate. I'm really intrigued with Fishers, Concord, Mishawaka, and Brebeuf Jesuit this year.

It just hit me, I'm seeing now why you're putting so much stock into Sagarin.

Sagarin doesn't factor in out of state games, correct? That is certainly a disadvantage to some schools...and an advantage to others that don't fare well in those contests.

Not disagreeing with your comment...just wish an entire body of work could be factored in for a number of schools.

Last year, a struggling Warren team who couldn’t score was down to a freshman QB on the road vs a top 10 Ben Davis team.

Almost beat them. In fact, had the opportunity to do so. Ben Davis must have been overrated last year too….oh wait.

Maybe something is to be said about heated rivalry games

Carroll's homecoming was last night. Dinan was passed by for the Snider head coaching position several years back. It's bittersweet when he comes away with a victory.

I think Sagarin is the most accurate predictor out there.

I still think there's a lot of flaws. Some teams know they can beat their opponent 60-0, but they knee the ball before halftime 10 yards away from the endzone. Ends up being a 42-14 game after the second stringers see some action. So many factors, hence so many flaws.

Yep.

Is Carroll/Snider not a “heated rivalry?”

Brownsburg/Avon?

Crown Point/Merrillville?

New Pal/Mt. Vernon?

Check the final score on those contests.

Stop making excuses for poor play.

Both teams continued to step on a rake for 4 hours.

No other way to spin it.
