Boilerup Posted November 14, 2024 Author Posted November 14, 2024 Cp 28 Carroll 27 special teams a big ? mark after watching dropped balls on punts by CP! Both teams have really good and intelligent QBs CP runs so many formations and will try to speed the game up , hard for defenders to adjust quickly. I am sure Carrol will be ready defensively! Being at Home will help CP! Long bus rides suck a lot of wind out your sail ! I think it will still be tight! Playoff football, nothing like it! Quote

If Crown Point is looking forward to Westfield, even a little bit, they'll be cleaning out there lockers Saturday morning. If Westfield is looking forward to a rematch with Crown Point, they'll be cleaning out their lockers Saturday morning. I'm predicting the Westfield/Crown Point rematch. It's really hard to say which team is #2 and whch is #3, but I like CP in the #2 position........ Buzea is the real deal. Westfield is going to be jacked up wanting to avenge their semi-state loss the year before and where this game is played will have no bearing, the best team will win. I'm still taking Crown Point, and that's not a 'northern bias' pick. It's an 'I think true north is going to win for the third year in a row' pick. Good luck to all four teams. Wouldn't hurt my feelings to see Carroll take on Fishers a week from Friday night. Edited November 15, 2024 by BTF Quote

I would probably take Westfield given homefield advantage and it's not going to be easy to knock them out 2 years in a row. It may benefit Crown Point to play on Saturday in attempt to get as many 'Dog fans down 65 as possible. Westfield has a very large homeside. Quote

I'm just not sure what to think of these road trips anymore. I keep watching teams getting on a bus, traveling an hour and a half, and coming away with a victory over a pretty good opponant. I don't think the bus trip affects these players as much as I once thought. Carroll tonight is a different story. Two and a half hours on a bus can't be wonderful. I think hosting Carroll was a pretty good scenario for CP rather than traveling two and a half hours to play Snider. Again though, all of us are getting a bit ahead of ourselves. I've seen many times where fans discredit a team and they come out and shock everyone. Fishers vs Carroll anyone? Quote

They probably have the only defense up north to keep that offense somewhat at bay and I could have seen them in person right here in Fort Wayne. Anyhow, Carroll has an uphill climb. I don't think the long bus trip helps. Either way, Crown Point appears to be the gem of the north this year. I stand by all previous predictions. I just don't see it. I think there's a gap between being the 2nd best team in the state vs being the 10th best team in the state. But you're right, Saturday morning would be interesting to say the least. BTF, I believe Penn held Elkhart to less yardage than Snider did . CP went through Penn's defense like a hot knife through butter . I honestly believe Snider would suffer the same fate . Quote

Just saying they might match up better than Carroll. I guess I trust Snider deep in the playoffs playing unfamiliar opponants more than I do Carroll. That's part of it. Quote

QB is going to MIami (OH). 2 best receiver's are a 6'4 TE going to Indiana State and a 6'3 TE who is only a Jr. and already has offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana and a few MAC per 247. He's possibly their best player. Very good at LB as well. Spot on assessment! Only thing you could've done to make it SLIGHTLY better is remove the possibly I bolded and italicized. Trevor Gibbs is the best football player on the Bulldogs and in Northwest Indiana. I personally don't think it's a close race either. The kid is a stud on both sides of the ball. Quote

Out of all the high school 6A football players I’ve watched this year, Trevor Gibbs truly stands out. He is something else—dominating on both sides of the ball like it’s no big deal - at times, it is like he could do it in his sleep. It’s no surprise colleges are all over him; he’s a rare talent. Add his baseball talent into the mix, and the guy’s an all-around powerhouse. Quote

Last night we saw what we expected, right? CP dominated up front and Carroll exposed the secondary. If Carroll receivers have better hands that game might have had a different outcome. I was impressed with Sullivan's arm, he was throwing 50+ through the air during warm-ups and a couple bombs that receiver's should have caught during the game. They did run that sideline pattern one too many times when it turned into a pick-6. With that being said is there any team that's left with the same pass attack? I'll go back and watch the Westfield game this weekend but nobody has been able to run against CP all season, so you better be able to throw the ball if you want to have a chance. Two weeks left boys, keep up the great 6a talk. I enjoy reading everyone's opinions, before the game based off what you all were saying I gathered that CP was a 17pt favorite... Good job nailing that one! Go Dogs!! See you in Westfield! Quote

Regular season, Brewer had a perfect FG record. At the Penn game, I believe he had his first missed FG all season. Quote
