I am very well aware of the injustices.  I am just requesting the people making the accusations provide documentation.

Long story short. Your claim is that the 1956 field was pretty talented and it's impossible to prove that racism played a factor as a fact? I'm sort of with you on this. My question would be, had racism NOT played a role, would he have had enough votes to surpass Hornung? Last word goes to @PHJIrish on his one............unless someone else on this forum is 81 years old.

Documentation stating they didn’t vote for someone solely based on the color of their skin.  If those documents can not be provided, it is all hearsay.

I lived the 1950's and I know some things.  Most folks of that era remember the "whites only" signs and the open hostility to those who were different.  When I was in the US Army, one of my best friends was an African American and we were thrown out of a lot of places because of his color, and that was in the late 1960's  Oh, he was a technical advisor for CBS News, but it just didn't matter in Louisville, KY.  It lasted for a long time.

So what are your thoughts on Paul Hornung and Tommy McDonald finishing ahead of Jim Brown? We all know the value Hornung brought to a football team. McDonald averaged 7.2 yards per carry versus Brown's 6.2. Do you believe that Brown got "screwed"? The 50's were rough, I do get that.

I just have a hard time feeling sorry for this guy, especially after the recent discussion on this forum relating to "character."
