Gipper Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Four feet of snow and Chinook winds out of the north! Unfortunately not, but it will be cold one. Stay warm and best of luck to all! 1 1 Quote
PHJIrish Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 This is what playoff weather usually looks like. Just dress warm and support your team. 2 1 Quote
Gipper Posted November 1, 2019 Author Posted November 1, 2019 I love this weather, sure, we had no fall, but I digress... 3 Quote

CoachVeatch Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 As a lineman this is what I lived for right here. Snow is better than rain anyway. RTDB 2 Quote

And even more of an edge to the players on the field who rock no sleeves in this cold weather. Nothing irritates me more than starters wearing hoodies under their jerseys lol. Quote

Sometimes it’s impossible to prepare for something like an iced over field Monday to Wednesday, I agree. But Thursday is typically a walk through, lineup checks, recognition, etc... Plus you can risk injury on non-ideal field conditions. Practicing on Thursday inside makes sense in certain conditions. 1 Quote
Gipper Posted November 1, 2019 Author Posted November 1, 2019 (edited) A little more info from the Cliff Clavin files: Chinook winds occur in Alberta, Canada primarily and normally bring about an increase in temperature... It just sounded fierce. Edited November 1, 2019 by Gipper 1 Quote

I was going to have to miss tonight's LCC-CP game as I'm being the supportive husband and dad and going to one of my wife's work functions with the kids tied to families/kids. Luckily, the LCC football game got moved to tomorrow because of the LCC girls' soccer state game. Get brownie points with the wife and still get to see the sectional game! 1 2 Quote

I always knew you were a great man Foxy. I help coach my son's 7th grade basketball team (which I love doing) and we have practice tonight from 5-7. I will try and catch a game on-line tonight. As a new official this year, I am trying to shadow experienced, GREAT officials during their playoff games. I was able to last week and that was SO amazingly helpful. Some of my officiating friends are on a GREAT crew and they have one of the premier games in the state tonight, so I was really wanting to shadow them. Quote

I might get myself in trouble tonight as I just finally broke down and got a mobile phone recently and I know I'm going to be tempted tonight to go off in a lobby or in the kitchen and, like you said, try to stream one or more of the games for "quick glimpses."
