hhpatriot04 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago At some schools, freshmen do not get to wear decals. At other schools, moms put the decals on the helmets at a special banquet before the season. Some schools like Cathedral, Evansville Reitz, Mater Dei and others have no decals. What special traditions/rituals does your school have regarding helmets and decals? Quote
MarshallCounty Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago ummm, Bremen uses the little b, it started in the 70's designed by assistant Coach Dennis Seneicki who was an art teacher. Back then Bremen was the little school in the Northern Lakes conference. It was a badge of honor, a chip on their shoulder. Quote

The decal almost looks like a "6". Quote
btownqbcoach1 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago We do. Offensive objectives get stars, defensive get skulls, special teams get tomahawks.. Quote
Cloudy14 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Not high school related - but the University of Georgia used to use white bone decals for athletic achievements and black bone decals for academic accomplishments. I would love to see a team adopt this! Quote
Bobref Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Back in the old days, Munster used to give out a weekly “Headhunter” award to the defensive player with the most tackles on Friday night. It was a skull & crossbones helmet sticker. Imagine doing that today. Quote

First_Backer_Inside Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago At Rochester, you earn your stripes by going to team camp in the summer. It is a stripe that goes down the middle of the helmet. Then during the first two weeks of practice, players slowly earn their English R on the right side of the helmet and their number on the left as they stand out and work hard in practice. The coaches put them on for the players. During the season we give out little white football helmet decals for awards during the week for things such as TD's scored or blocked for, TFL, INT, etc. We even started giving awards out for guys that sprint down the field to celebrate in the end zone with the guy that scored. hhpatriot04 Posted 40 minutes ago Author Posted 40 minutes ago Thanks. I didn't realize you had red stripe(s)? on the helmet? White-black-thick red-black-white? Quote

Getting those straight and the Patriot man logo "perpendicular to the earhole" but it couldn't be too high or too low was a SOB. Players definitely ran if they had to go ask for another decal. Most would try to peel them off then have them peel off halfway through the season. Fresh decals were only given out before state. Quote
Justasportsfan Posted 1 minute ago Posted 1 minute ago Slightly off subject, why don’t alumni clubs auction off their clubs helmets? Copyright issues? Quote
