They are usually at the top of the MSC in most sports now. Maybe they want to go compete with bigger schools or the other members may want to force them out due to them getting too big. I think the HHC would be a good landing spot for them. They can still have the rilvary game against Charlestown and keep one other MSC game. Possibly Brownstown or Corydon or Scottsburg depending on the sport. Brownstown is always good in baseball, solid in football and the basketball team is very solid. Do they really want to keep playing Austin, Pekin, Henryville? That's not for me to answer. I am just looking at who could join and who has the best chance of growth to add good competition to HHC. Addressing @coachhess concerns about quality opponents and the culture of FC fans. No SC isn't male, St. X, etc…but they already play them, if everyone else plays them then this could free up a whiteland, Plainfield, or Franklin to fill the gaps for st. X THS. Those teams are better for FC than Providence or other small schools in the area and are still somewhat in close proximity to the other teams. No 3 hour drive to THS or playing 6a private schools out of Louisville. Whiteland, Plainfield, Franklin are solid out of conference games. Also, Does this help eliminate New Albany to travel to Indy on a Saturday to play a team out in South Bend? Or does NA already play SC now?? Just thinking and considering what's best for HHC's future. I'm afraid JC is going to want to drop out in the future as well. If that happens I believe the HHC may be done, then everyone will be looking for a new home. Nobody is saying that Floyd Central shouldn't play tough competition in Non Conference. But maybe they shouldn't play teams that will beat them by 5 Touchdowns every year. Louisville has Ballard, Fern Creek, Jeffersontown, Eastern, Christian Academy, Atherton, Fairdale, and more. Schools that are pretty good but also might give Floyd a chance to win. Im not sure how losing 52-14 or 42-7 every year is making our program better. There is a lot of support in the community for that sentiment. And the community matters. It's their kids playing. It's their money funding the program. Edited September 1, 2024 by Fkfootball Quote

I think, from what I've been told, they play these big schools because they field a Full freshman team, JV and Varsity. It seems that FC is too big for most the area IN teams. But too small for the Louisville teams. Hard to play varsity against a local team but not be able to play JV and freshman. Most can field a JV team but hardly any can field a freshman only team besides St. x, trinity, male, and manual. Quote

Good point. I still think JC could be competitive in the EIAC. 12 hours ago, Uncle Bubba said: With FC being the size they are. However, outside of Louisville, there are plenty of schools that do all 3. Hardin, Bullitt and Oldham County all have 3 schools that are 5a/6a. Plus, Shelby County has 2. Meade County is also 6a. All of those schools are within one hour of FC. Even if they branched out to Lexington, that is only about 90 minutes and there are several large schools there. Quote

To be fair, the boys basketball semistate run occurred in 2023. I think it just simply came down to the EIAC not wanting to expand past 8. Madison was pitching to join at the same time as Jennings County was. Not sure if it was a package deal pitch or not but I wouldn’t think so. Personally, I think the EIAC should’ve taken them both. They already have big school and small school divisions in football so it’s not like they’re playing seven conference games. Put Jennings County and Madison in the big school division and move Batesville back down to the small school division. Edited September 2, 2024 by Frozen Tundra 1 Quote

Frozen Tundra Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 BNL (0-2, 0-0 HHC) at Jeffersonville (1-1, 1-0 HHC): The Stars have been abysmal thus far, having scored only seven points in their first two games. Granted, they have played two top ten teams. On the flip-side, the Red Devils have surprised in their relatively close loss to Whiteland in week 1 and their miraculous comeback at Seymour last week. How does Jeff respond to such an emotional win? Will they have a letdown this week? I think there could be some of that but I think they’re the more talented team and talent will win it for them. Jeff leads the all-time series 30-18 but BNL has won the last three. New Albany (1-1, 0-0 HHC) at Jennings County (0-2, 0-0 HHC): The Bulldogs hit the road for their first true road game of the season after netting themselves a neutral-site win over a South Bend Washington team that hasn’t had much success over the last 45 years. Then you have the Panthers who haven’t really seen any success at all since opening their doors in 1968. Particularly, this year, youth and inexperience are hurting them and their offense was very vanilla from what I personally saw last week. New Albany has won eight in a row in this series and 11 of the last 12. I expect that to continue tonight. The Bulldogs also lead the series 38-10. Seymour (1-1, 0-1 HHC) at Columbus East (0-2, 0-0 HHC): Like BNL, the Olympians have only scored one touchdown in two games. Unlike BNL, they missed the PAT. East has also played two really tough opponents as well as both Bloomington South and Columbus North find themselves ranked in at least one of the two polls. The Owls, meanwhile, will look to rebound from an epic fourth quarter collapse last week in which their defense essentially lost the game as a result of two huge plays. I have a feeling Coach Tyson Moore found a way to motivate them, especially considering their opponent is who he suited up with for four years. Tyson is 3-1 against East with Eddie Vogel as the Olympians’ coach and I’m guessing he makes it 4-1 tonight. Columbus East leads the series 36-23 but Seymour is looking to win three in a row for the first time since 1996-2000 in which they won six in a row. Floyd Central (0-1) at Silver Creek (2-0): The Highlanders conclude their non-conference schedule tonight by making the short drive to Sellersburg where they face an undefeated Dragons team. Silver Creek has feasted on what appears to be an easy schedule and Floyd Central will be fresh after last week’s game with Terre Haute South being canceled. The Dragons won the first game in the series back in 2021 but the Highlanders have won the last two games. I think FC makes it three in a row tonight. Quote
