And now the fun begins!

Week 2 is going to crazy if everything shakes out according to seed. This Boonville team is legit and can put some points up. I still take Reitz but it’s going to be closer than I thought.

Normally, I’d rather have an easy first round but this year I’ll take the bye. It gives Young another week to heal and we can focus completely on you guys.

Story lines to watch in this Sectional for the first week:

How well does a healthy Memorial go against a now healthy Jasper team in the Sectional Semi-Final?

Can Harrison give Boonville a scare, Warriors have improved, but Boonville is a much better team unlike last year.

If Boonville does beat Harrison, how does a Boonville/Reitz game go? Last year was an classic, and some of the same names return in this one.

Starting to look like Central will go winless for the first time in 35 years, last time was in 1985.

Memorial gets 2 straight weeks at Enlow, away against Bosse, home against Jasper

Does Tango make his chili?

Not much excitement to talk abound for this week, Boonville-Harrison is somewhat intriguing.

1) I still don’t know who this Jasper team is. They could beat Memorial close or lose by 30. I don’t have a clue.

2) Nope. Boonville takes care of business. They have a solid team this year as shown against GS.

3) I think Reitz can beat anyone in the class not named New Pal. So it’s going to be a pretty convincing win for Reitz.

 4) What a drop off for Central and shut out like six games. Something has to change there.

5) I’d imagine Memorial will rest some guys against bosse?

Normally, they will play for the 1H until fading out toward the 3Q. They will likely rest Seward, since he left early last night with a side injury. However, while they did not play, preseason starters OL Weinzapfel (left Jasper game early) and DL Collins were dressed last night, something to look at for in the following weeks

Me too, should be interesting game, While we did lose 34-10, it’s pretty hard to play a game missing 10+ starters. Both teams are rolling at the right moment, that Jasper’s run game is scary.

That first game doesn’t really count. These are two very different teams playing from that first game. Wish it was at Jasper again.

I have my doubts we’ll be seeing any of those 3 play going forward - at least Weinzapfel or Collins.  They were only dressed to take part in the Senior night ceremony.

Seward I’m less sure about.  But I guess time will tell.

Oh yea, didn’t think about that… hopefully Seward is all good, pretty sure he walked off the field okish. Let’s see he will be after this week, since he will likely rest

Central at Reitz

Not a good matchup for Central to keep away from a winless season for the first time in 37 years. Reitz is a different breed and keeps on rolling. Give me the Panthers in a running clock

Memorial at Bosse

After losing to a close one to Reitz, Memorial has bounced back by earning back to back wins over Vincennes and Castle to tie for 2nd place in the SIAC. On the other hand, Bosse has had a tough season, but does have a solid duo in Wagner/Hope. But with some guys being out tonight, there will be a lot of running in this one by the Tigers. However, give me the Tigers by 3-4 scores, as a potential Memorial/Jasper rematch is looming for next week.

Boonville at Harrison

Harrison has seen some improvements on both Offense and Defense over the season and has a ranked win over Jasper (#5 that week in 4A). Harrison has consistently been in the Top 4 in passing defense this season, but struggles a lot on the rushing attack. Boonville has had a pleasant season going 6-3, losing to a tough one against Gibson Southern in the PAC-Big School Championship Game. Led by a deadly RB/QB Duo, I can see them doing some damage to Harrison’s run defense, while keeping the passing game low. I’ll take the Pioneers in this one by 16

Harrison's QB will not be able to play tonight. Is sick and will miss the game tonight. Could make it more challenging for Harrison to beat Boonville

and a couple of lineman too... Harrison is way too thin to replace several starters. So bad news for Harrison but good news for Boonville. The SIAC's 7th & 8th place teams are going to feel the wrath of the PAC Big School #1 & #2 tonight. Too bad Harrison isn't full strength. That could have been a fun game.
