Muda69 Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 We'll start with the biggest story regarding the Colts so far in early 2024, the owner: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/columnists/gregg-doyel/2024/01/18/jim-irsays-ongoing-addiction-fight-means-giving-up-control-of-colts/72270415007/ Quote Jim Irsay is believed to have overdosed again, which would be the second time for the owner of the Indianapolis Colts. It’s too soon to say what comes next, but if he’s headed to rehab, this would be at least his 16th time. ,,,,, I’m saying it: Jim Irsay should never again run the Indianapolis Colts. ...... Thoughts? Very sad for any individual to be 64 years of age and can't handle this demon. In this case, a 64 year old billionaire. While I feel for him and his battle with addiction, I would hope the NFL would demand that he hand over the keys until he can demonstrate he is healthy and on the right track. Quote
Muda69 Posted March 11, 2024 Author Posted March 11, 2024 Colts sign Pittman and Franklin to 3-year extensions: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2024/03/11/colts-michael-pittman-jr-signs-a-3-year-extension/72931370007/ Quote Michael Pittman Jr. will be sticking around Indianapolis for a few more years. The Colts have reached an agreement on a new deal with their star wide receiver, which Pittman confirmed with an Instagram post captained "HOME." The deal is for three years and $70 million with $46 million guaranteed, a source confirmed to IndyStar. The $23.3 million average annual salary ranks eighth at the wide receiver position, sandwiched between the 49ers' Deebo Samuel and the Commanders' Terry McLaurin. ... https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2024/03/11/colts-sign-zaire-franklin-to-three-year-extension/72928921007/ Quote The first move the Colts made in free agency this offseason was one they did not have to make. But it was a chance to reward a player who has outplayed the last deal he signed by leaps and bounds. Indianapolis signed middle linebacker Zaire Franklin to a three-year extension, a source confirmed to IndyStar on Monday morning, that is worth up to $31.3 million, although full details of the contract have not been reported yet. .... Muda69 Posted March 14, 2024 Author Posted March 14, 2024 Colts sign Comeback Player of the Year Joe Flacco as backup quarterback https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2024/03/13/colts-sign-comeback-player-of-the-year-joe-flacco-as-backup-quarterback/72964500007/ Quote The Colts have found a quarterback to replace Gardner Minshew as Anthony Richardson’s backup. Another quarterback who ended up surprising everybody when he was thrown into the lineup in place of an injured starter last season. Indianapolis has signed Joe Flacco, the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year, to a one-year deal worth $4.5 million in guaranteed money and up to $8.2 million in incentives, a league source told Indy Star on Wednesday night, handing head coach Shane Steichen a backup quarterback he already knows he can trust. Flacco spent half a season with Steichen in Philadelphia in 2021, serving as the backup to Jalen Hurts until the Eagles traded Flacco to the New York Jets halfway through the season. A starter In Baltimore for a decade and a Super Bowl MVP for the Ravens in 2012, Flacco has spent the past six seasons as a sometime starter and a mentor in a backup role for the Broncos, Jets, Eagles and Browns. Interesting signing. Quote

Irishman Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 Colts schedule is out. Interesting things: 1. Of the 15 games that are set for time, they have 13 games starting at 1 pm. 2. Just one prime time game against the Jets on Sunday Night Football in week 11. 3. The bye is not until week 14...wow....that seems really late. Quote

I can live without Thurs night games, so not having any of those are fine by me. That is a late bye week. 1 Quote

I think the Colts were the first to start tagging games as premium games. Years ago, when they were still in the dome, we bought tickets for the Packers game, but they did not just sell single game tickets. You had to buy a preseason ticket as well. So for the Colts-Bills preseason game that year, there was a LOT of green and yellow in the crowd. 😂 I also recall a number of people getting warning letters from the Colts stating that the team was aware that fans of the visiting team were in their seats and that happened again, they could lose the rights to those seats for season tickets. I think they were one of the first organizations to do that as well. Yes they do have a system in place where every seat can be seen by a camera. 1 Quote

They're playing in a taxpayer funded stadium with a sweetherad deal on rent/revenue. You can't criticize the season ticket holders for taking advantage of a good resale market. I was in LOS yesterday. There were A LOT of Bears fans in attendance. Seemed like somewhere around 40-50% Bears fans. 3 Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 We have been selling our tickets for decades plus for our Season package in Chicago....never such a thing sent our way now, there is emails about unruly behavior of 3rd party purchases may end up being reflected upon the owner of the ticket 1 Quote
Irishman Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 The caption: "Quite possibly the worst-blocked run play ever. 4 out of the 5 linemen are lying on the ground." lol Quote

PHJIrish Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 Just as Anthony Richardson looked like he was getting it, he gets injured again. He has to learn he's not invincible when running in the NFL. Quote
PHJIrish Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 Colts player is blocked into the QB and it's another "roughing" penalty. I understand protecting the QB but those two plays today are head scratchers. 1 Quote

Agree about Richardson....read where he hasn't finished 4 of the 8 games he has started as a Colt. Quote
PHJIrish Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 I heard on radio that Taylor's ankle sprain was "mild." I also think someone should be highly reprimanded for sending Richardson back in the game so soon, and then run a play that had him running as an option. That's just plain silly! As far as their availability, no news until Wednesday's practice, I would presume. 1 Quote
PHJIrish Posted October 13, 2024 Posted October 13, 2024 Colts won a grinder today 20-16. It helped that the Titans offense was inept. It was a nice win, though with the Colts injury situation. Richardson and Taylor didn't play today. Flacco did a fine job though and the receivers had a very good day. Quote
