  1. Past hour
  2. Maybe all 3 South Bend public schools should combine .
  3. Don't think Knox should be top tier anything after losing to Pioneer and getting smacked by Judson and CMA. Knox will be lucky to win 3 games this year. Tippy and Bremen will roll until they meet. Should be a barn burner
  4. I'm sure Penn doesn't, but what conference is there? Could you imagine the travel times to Crown Point , Lake Central , etc . Add in the time difference , kids wouldn't be getting home until midnight or after on school nights .
  5. Judson - NM lost a lot of talent from last year. Will miss not getting the opportunity to eat a ham salad sammich SCUM - What is going on over in Bourbon? Winamac - Heard the warriors benched their junior QB early vs Pioneer? Pioneer - Caston will hang on until halftime.
  6. This is fascinating work. It spent more time in Ft Wayne than I would have guessed. Do you know who else has won the state title while holding/winning the trophy? Seems like Cathedral has several times. I think during the Ft Wayne "exile" time, only Concordia (2016), Dwenger (2018), and Luers (2023) won the title while holding the trophy. I could be off though.
  7. If memory serves me correctly, and it probably isn't, Elkhart Christian was trying to start a program around that time. They had a schedule but the coach was doing some unethical things in getting players so teams started dropping them and the program folded just as quick as it started. Osceola Grace is a entirely different program. I'm not sure on their history but I believe they started around the same time. Again, don't quote me as I could be entirely off base, but for some reason this was my recollection of events. I'm sure someone here has more insight into this. One thing I do know is that they are 2 different programs.
  8. Today
  9. Covington @ FC - What a string of bad luck for the Mustangs. And interesting comment on Covington's QB WRC123. It appears he didn't play against NV either. I would like to see the play that knocked the FC QB out bc I was told it was a "bang bang" borderline play on a punt, not a malicious blindside hit as stated. Unfortunate, for sure. If both QB's are out, give me FC. They have the best athlete on the field in Bachelor. FC 24-12 PH @ Attica - I'm still on the PH train. They'll handle business and probably do so until they see RP later this season. And I think they can stand toe-to-toe with RP based on how the season has gone so far. PH 50 - 6 RP @ Seeger - As much as I'd love to see this be a competitive game, I think RP is probably better than Carrol, who controlled the Seeger game. I love the Seeger offense, but too many clock stops combined with the RP run game spells bad news in 2026. I wrote it last week and I'll write it again - Where does RP get all these kids? Lesniak came back last week and had multiple TD's, along with Pope. Seriously, the kid has touched the ball like 12 times and has 5 TD's. RP 46 - 14 SV @ NV - Is SV the most underachieving team in the conference thus far in 2026? And is NV the most overachieving through three games? Who would have thought through three weeks that NV and SV would have had the same number of passing yards? It's a toss-up, so give me SV and their all-world QB. SV 35-24
  10. Covington @ FC- Coach Earl is going to get his first win this week. Not sure what happened last week against the Falcons but it definitely surprised me. I think FC is doing the right things, just not sure what they are going to be able to do without Foxworthy. Hopefully he will be back to finish his conference run because there are some more winnable games on the schedule for FC. Give me the Mustangs by a score. PH @ Attica- PH might be the real deal and may give the Panthers a run for their money for first place in the conference. I think the week 8 match up between the Woofs and the Loins is going to be the game of the year in the WRC. Attica is still on the struggle bus. The Rox by as many as they want. RP @ Seeger- The Panthers had some slow starts this year but it seems like they can flip that switch whenever they want to. Saw the stats from Friday night and it looked like the Lesniak kid was back and getting some carries. Not sure who #2 is for the Panthers but he's only a sophomore and going to be a stud. RP is better than Seeger up front but with Seeger having athletes and slinging the ball around I think this could be a good game. Give me the Panthers by a score. SV @ NV- NV pulled off the the upset last week, I think everyone in this thread thought that Covington would win that. SV lost a heartbreaker Friday that could have been won with a field goal... I think Hinche is going to do his thing against the Visors defense but the Kittys have too many athletes. Miller and his crew are going to win this game by at least 2 scores.
  11. So does the "official" game clock show tenths and hundredths of seconds? Why doesn't the TV or stadium scoreboard show those tenths of seconds like they do for basketball? I'm not doubting that there were tenths of seconds left, just seems fishy when the "official" clock isn't seen by anybody but the conference. My biggest issue is that the stadium clock read 0:00 when the ball was touched by the Western Michigan player signaling the end of the game. Every player and coach in the stadium goes off the clock on the scoreboard. If you are saying that the official clock and the scoreboard clock aren't synced what happens when a coach calls a TO with 1 second showing on the stadium clock to set up a last second FG but the official clock hits 0 because they aren't synched?
  12. They could call it the "Borrowed Stadium Bowl"?
  13. I always thought of the Evansville East vs. West battle for U.S. 41 and Catholic dominance game, as Mater Dei being the gritty, working class team against the more affluent team from Memorial. The helmets reflect this. Mater Dei can't even afford decals on their helmets while Memorial has a decal and stripes. Prove me wrong. Big fan of both programs. Too bad Mater Dei has to play a home game at THE REITZ BOWL. Heck Reitz is even in Memorial's name.
  14. Can anyone provide any insight as to the North v Harrison 22-20 score? I never saw that coming.
  15. SIAC Standings Week 4: 1. Memorial 3-0 (-) 2. Reitz 2-0 (0.5) 3. Mater Dei 2-0 (0.5) 4. Castle 2-1 (1) 5. North 1-2 (2) 6. Jasper 1-2 (2) 7. Central 1-2 (2) 8. Bosse 0-2 (2.5) 9. Harrison 0-3 (3)
  16. Stick a fork in us. We are a terrible team in a terribly uninteresting conference. 0 Interesting games this week and maybe one or two the entire conference season (PennvsElkhart) (ElkhartvsStJoe). Why Penn keeps wanting to participate in this conference is beyond me
  17. Change New Prairies to a Navy Blue facemask and chinstrap
  18. North Miami @ North Judson- Jays win big Triton @ South Central- This may be the only opportunity for either team to get a win this year. Give me the Satellites after the drubbing the Trojans took from Culver last week. Culver @ Winamac- Crazy to see what happens when Winamac plays a non MWC team... Warriors bounce back this week over the Cavs. Pioneer @ Caston- Caston is much improved from last year. Their defense is flying around and their massive o-line is paving the way for their backs. Pioneer will have to play a clean game on both sides of the ball to win. I think the Panthers pull out a close on in Fulton.
  19. Friday should be a really good game. Cathedral offense starting to show some life as they are riding a big time win in Cincy vs St. X. Chatard pounded Roncalli but believe they enter Friday's contest down a key player.
  20. Crawford County @ South Decatur Mitchell @ Eastern Greene Perry Central @ Paoli West Washington @ Springs Valley Brownstown @ Salem Corydon @ Scottsburg North Harrison @ Charlestown Silver Creek @ Madison
  21. Yeah, that's rough for sure. Lot of gallons of diesel fuel for that bus.
  22. Jays Trojans Warriors Panthers Congrats to all the winners last week. Culver! Great win. Caston Comets will be a tough out for most! North Judson and Pioneer might struggle to be tested before week 9. Great programs who look good again and again
  23. Thoughts on these helmets? Do they match what the teams are wearing this season? Any input is appreciated!
  24. Anyone from the Elkhart area know why in 2010 Sagarin rated a team called "Elkhart Christian." Almanac Sports has them playing Bowman once in August 2010, but Harrell lists this same game as Bowman Academy vs. Osceola Grace?
  25. Thoughts on these helmets? Main thing is: are they accurate to what teams are wearing in 2026? Appreciate any input.
  26. Conference play kicks off this week. Takeaways from first three out-of-conference weeks. Top tier: Knox, Tippy Valley, Bremen Knox: Post Myles era has started off 0-3. No longer the heavy conference favorite. Solid strength of schedule with their opening three games and Radtke will always figure out a way to keep his team competitive. Huge game right off the bat this week with TV will go long way into determining conference. Tippy Valley: Solid football team that was supposed to drop off from last year, but I’d say they’re actually a better overall team this year. Played right with powerhouse Adam’s Central right until 4 mins left in 4th quarter. Bremen: The turnaround might be here a year earlier than many thought. Really weak opening three opponents, but they did what a good team is supposed to do against lower level opponents. Last week of season against Tippy may be for the conference. Bottom Tier: Jimtown: Better than last year, but still a little behind Knox, TV, and what looks to be a surging Bremen. Glenn: See Jimtown, but further behind Jimtown. Laville: Thacker implementing the flex bone triple option is going to take a minute. Laville is the perfect fit for him and that style. Week 4 games: Tippecanoe Valley @ Knox Laville @ Bremen Jimtown @ Glenn
