Thank you for the lists. I'll probably have to scour their social media pages to find their helmets. The good thing is most upstart programs have fairly simple helmets because I assume they lack funding. Any idea what Wood Memorial and Union (Dugger) are doing now? -

Week 1 Picks Martinsville at BNL: The Artesians lead the all-time series 24-4. The Stars pulled off the upset in the season opener last year 33-15, giving them their first win over Martinsville since 1992. However, the Artesians got the last laugh when they ended BNL’s season in the sectional championship 49-35. I feel like last season’s surprising 8-4 record was a one-hit wonder for BNL. I think they’ll struggle this year. Martinsville wins by at least three touchdowns. Columbus East at Mooresville: Second ever meeting between the Olympians and Pioneers. Mooresville got the best of East in a 12-0 game in Columbus in 1989 for a sectional championship. Both teams have new coaches. East’s is implementing a new offensive scheme with a new QB (a junior) while Mooresville’s coach is the son of a legend, Mike Gillin, who retired from there after last season and is #3 all-time in wins in Indiana history. Casey likely provides some familiarity and is able to build off what his father built while East will need time to perfect their new system. I have Mooresville by a couple touchdowns. 5A #9/#10 Floyd Central at 3A #2 Gibson Southern: First ever meeting between the Highlanders and Titans. Both teams lost some key players on offense (including the QB) and on defense. However, Gibson Southern always seems to reload rather than rebuild as head coach Nick Hart has built an incredibly successful program. Throw in the fact it’s an hour and 40 minute bus ride for Floyd Central and that’s a bad combination. Could be closer but I’m thinking Gibson Southern by at least ten points. Jeffersonville at Lawrence Central: First ever meeting between the Red Devils and Bears. New head coaches for both teams. I’m hearing from some folks that Lawrence Central could be a surprise this year. Time will tell. Nevertheless, I’ll take them over Jeff by 30+. 2A #8 Providence at New Albany: The Bulldogs lead the all-time series with the Pioneers 27-24. The rivalry was reinstated last year after a seven year hiatus. New Albany had won four straight prior to last year’s 49-14 defeat en route to their first ever winless season. Tall task for new head coach Marc Clark to get the program turned around. Providence is an established power at the 1A and 2A levels and I think they win by at least two touchdowns. Seymour at Greenwood: The Woodmen lead the all-time series with the Owls 4-2. The road team has won the last three games in the series after the home team won the first three games. Both teams have been less than impressive recently and I’m doubtful that changes this year. My gut feels like it could be a close one. My head says picking an HHC team in a non-conference game is a bad move. Therefore, I’ve got Greenwood by a touchdown or less. -

Understood. I think Franklin Central and Penn are about even if we're looking at current state of affairs. -
I can one up that one. Had a nephew and niece graduate from Badger High School in Lake Geneva, WI. Nickname? You may think, no way they did that, but yep, they did……the Badgers. IU has an alumni summer camp in Elkhart Lake, WI. I had a blast working there for a couple of summers. I actually coached with a guy that went to Elkhart Lake HS. Their nickname is the Resorters. lol

Wyatt and Daley are now in limbo until this works its way through the courts and appeals. But as of now, the two are not eligible this season. But somehow guys in NFL camps could return to college. https://www.crimsonquarry.com/iu-football/29406/indianas-kellan-wyatt-and-stephen-daley-hit-legal-snag-ineligible-for-2026

Just watched McAfee interview Drew Rosenhaus. Rosenhaus represents a receiver for the Browns from Ole Miss. He is still in camp with the Browns, but Rosenhaus is working to see that he would be eligible to go back to Ole Miss. In other news, the players who were granted eligibility like Daly from IU have lost that eligibility.

Found this article about South Newton moving down to 8-man football. It lists the eight other teams competing in it. No clue who the Kosciusko Thunder are. Doesn’t appear to be a school itself. Same with the Tri-State Crusaders which is listed as the Fort Wayne Crusaders on Waldron and Greenwood Christian’s schedules. -

Today’s games will definitely tell us a lot about the HHC this year. Glad we have a decent slate. -
Yeah, they knew that.

Holy Warrior would be a better translation.

Some of the Muslim boys in my class at Woodlan a dozen or so years ago had a non school related soccer league team called Mujahadeen. They pulled the Woodlan Warriors name and interpreted Mujahadeen as Warrior.

Adams Central at Luers...should be a great game, AC's first time going against the SAC...AC by 7 North Side at East Noble...my alma mater has all the talent in the world on paper, but paper doesn't account for poor discipline and disorganized coaching, until they prove the have the latter figured out, I remain skeptical...East Noble by 14 Snider at Warsaw...everyone knows what Warsaw is going to do, can Snider punch back on the road? Warsaw by 10 Wayne at Leo...Leo may be a little down this year, still think they should handle Wayne easily...Leo by 21 Westside at Northrop..sucks to lose the Week 1 game, but of course there are more important things to take care of up in NWI. Hamilton SE at Carroll...Carroll has become the 6A standard north of Hamilton County, a win here could show they are a true threat for a State run...Carroll by 1 Roncalli at Dwenger...These teams playing 3 times in 12 months is fun, excited to see BDs new up tempo offense, but I think new special teams remains a big question on Saints ability to repeat this season...Dwenger by 2 Secina at Concordia...Cadets swan song in the SAC, don't think they are at Secina's level, but could keep it close for a while...Secina by 18 Marion at South Side...South is always a team poised to be a disrupter every year, a week one W could set the tone...South by 6 Westfield at Homestead...a buddy of mine who lives out SW and has a son just getting into football asked me about Homestead, the best way I could describe them is a program that has all the resources and infrastructure to be much better than they ever are, they aren't on the same level as Westfield...Westfield by 24

I am doing every team that is listed on John Harrell's website. If you can give me a list of 8-man teams and there are source images, I can do them after. -
