  1. Past hour
  2. I do know my swimming as I swam at South Newton. The William D. Elbert Aquatic Centre is well known for only having 5 competition lanes as opposed to 6 or 8. As a side note, it’s not named after Elbert, I just chose to honor him as he was both my principal and Pappy Gipper’s basketball coach when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. Second side note, daddio played for the Kentland Blue Devils who were quite good, offering as BDP as a forerunner to RDP.
  3. I'm just glad that New Palestine successfully represented our state and beat that team from Illinois. The weight room culture at New Pal is very strong.
  4. If you're over 65 and live in the district, you can get a pass at the Wayne Township Administration Center and never pay to go to another Ben Davis or Wayne Township event (not good for IHSAA or tourney events).
  5. It's always great to have a pro like @crimsonace1 on the call.
  6. Aspen HS is in Colorado nicknamed the Skiers, yet they have a very swimming program. Maybe not Carmel good, but not bad for a landlocked state smack dab in some of the world’s best, yet nauseatingly expensive skiing terrain in the world.
  7. We had the game on WBDG as well. It was a good one. Kind of like a tale of two games. The Giants built that 27-10 lead, the Irish responded and then the Giants drove for the go ahead TD and preserved it by forcing the turnover. Hope is well with you!
  8. Happy to vote in 4A, 5A and 6A.
  9. And how about those Manchester Squires as opposed to Cavaliers and the Southmont Mounties for making the dubious choice of honoring the long arm of the law in our neighbors to the north?
  10. I would be remiss if i didn’t offer a little praise to Blackford and North Central (just north of Terre Haute, not the one on 86th Street in Indianapolis) for thinking outside the box. Their monikers of the Bruins and Thunderbirds offer fresh alternatives to the overplayed Bears and Cardinals/Eagles/Hawks. Wabash and Brebeuf are trying to go the un-PC route by using the Apaches and Braves as opposed to Indians, but I can see through it.
  11. Sorry Brownstown replaced 19 starters Corydon had 33 yards of offense and 2 first downs.
  12. While I think with Saunders they probably would have scored, your starting QB missing week 1 for non injury reasons also shows lack of control in the program. Nothing new. Carroll put 6A on notice with a big week 1 blowout. Dwengers defense, and Roncallis too for that matter, really looked the part. But Saints “new look” offense and play calling left a lot to be desired. Not having a dependable kicker this season may cost a couple games down the road. Good to see South and Concordia also pick up wins for those programs.

  15. Should be a good one. One of the Braves strengths is their secondary so will hopefully be a good match up.
  16. Teams that end up 3-6 or 2-7 like HSE and Fishers should not be in the top 25. Fishers lost 47-0 and HSE was down 40-0 in the 4th quarter. Reward results and how teams play, not where they are from
  17. Completely shocked that New Albany beat Providence. Congrats to the Bulldogs!
  18. I'm not sure the teams in "teams to watch" would be either of those programs head to head. Carmel and Carroll are THAT good. Do you think teams being rewarded for wins trumps who you think would win head to head? I'm just trying to come up with the best 25 teams, and historically, HSE and Fishers are top fifteen programs. Carroll and Carmel will punish some pretty good teams this year.
  19. HSE and Fishers should not be in the top 25. Fishers lost 47-0 and HSE was down 40-0 in the 4th quarter. Reward results and how teams play, not where they are from
  20. So I went to the Frankfort game last night. Gave a friend I was going with the cash to pay for the ticket, and they used their debit card. Unfortunately not only has the ticket price risen from $6 --> $7 there was also a $1.50 fee tacked onto the transaction. This Eventlink company must be making some good profits, but it won't be on the backs of my friend and myself any more. Moving into the "modern cashless age" is just another way to extract wealth from the populace, a $1.50 at a time. Sickening.
  21. To say the least. I got bored after the first quarter (28-0) and left. From what I heard it went to 40-0 before HSE got on the scoreboard. Carroll is legit. Should be a good game next week down at Center Grove. Community support at Carroll is second to none. It was standing room only, probably 4000 fans. HSE added maybe 500, not bad for a two hour drive.
  22. That’ll be a great game. Charlestown has a pretty good team as well. I like their QB a lot. The winner of that game should…win the MSC.
