  1. The utter hyprocrisy of the NFL....they know how to market, and that's all. Sounds pretty darn disgusting.... https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34054310/cleveland-browns-qb-deshaun-watson-saw-least-66-massage-therapists-17-month-period-report-says

  2. I don't think most of us po' folk can wrap our heads around $4.65 BILLION dollars and what kind of chump change that is to people like Rob Walton, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and others of that ilk. Food for thought on the Monopoly money that these people live with, and their disassociation with the common person: Jerry Jones was worth about $11 billion dollars and bought the Cowgirlsboys for a then-record (and then-unimaginable) $150 million in 1989. If you were to earn $3,600 per hour ($1/second) working 24/7/365, it would take you about four years and nine months to make enough to purchase Jerruh's Boys back then. I can KIND of, ALMOST, wrap my head around that. To do the same for Walton's Broncos... that, my friends, would take you over 147 YEARS. To look at it another way, minimum wage was $3.35 for you and me back in 1989, so working day and night 24/7/365 would have pushed us rubes to a mere 5,111 years of labor. Translate that to Walton's Broncs.... that works out to 73,217 years at the current minimum (and ever-increasingly pathetic) of $7.25/hr. So if you started earning your keep with Grug the Neanderthal back in the Middle Paleolithic era making cave art for today's minimum wage, you'd be getting somewhere close to being able to purchase an NFL team today. I'm not sure at what financial threshold things turns into playing with Monopoly money for people, but I'd say once you get to that 8- 9-figure range... you have to begin losing your grasp with the plight of the common man.

  3. If you can play, you simply live by a different set of rules and get a different amount of strikes than others.

  4. Why this and why NOT any investigation on the Minneapolis/Portland/Kenosha/Baltimore/Atlanta/ETC. riots that actually destroyed REAL property, and killed a whole lot more people than the January 6 protest?? And WHY is something like this going on to the big 3 networks IN PRIMETIME nonetheless? Oh yeah, it's an election year.....and they would like for everyone to focus on "Orange Man Bad" instead of (IDK) RECORD INFLATION/CRIME maybe. https://nypost.com/2022/06/07/nancy-pelosi-and-the-dems-jan-6-dog-baloney-show/ With inflation at gas pumps and supermarkets forcing Americans to pinch pennies, rising violent crime spreading fear and public schools pushing racial and sexual indoctrination, most voters say it’s time for a change in Washington. The Democrats holding power have run out of excuses and even stopped making promises of quick progress. But they do have plans to entertain you in hopes you’ll forget your worries — and stick with the party that’s bringing you all those problems. Lights, camera, propaganda! That’s what they are offering, starting Thursday with a prime-time House hearing on the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. It’s been more than 500 days since that awful event and while most people have moved on, Democrats refuse to. And they’re going to make it hard for you to refuse to watch their performance because all their media handmaidens have signed on to provide live coverage. Wall-to-wall means ABC, CBS, NBC and the cable friendlies will be showing the same thing at the same time. Given how openly the party is talking about the event as a key part of its survival strategy in the November elections, the TV coverage ought to be considered a campaign donation.

  6. I respect various opinions and see both sides. I have a very different perspective on the reps impact. Many years ago, had a son that was a soph on a 5A state championship team. Because they were very good and opened up leads sometimes pretty quickly, he got tons of experience getting friday night reps in the 2nd half against starting lineups and second string players. There is no doubt that experience helped him prepare to be a 2 years starter for that program his junior and senior years. Playing against freshman and other sophs during Saturday's JV game did not offer that caliber of experience. Was it essential? Perhaps not, as the majority of his development came in practice against older state championship caliber players. But was it a plus for his development beyond playing JV ball? Absolutely. I guess I am old school and during my days, played on both ends of wide score margins. I survived and wasn't harmed long term to experience some beat downs. We all know life itself will offer some beat downs, and calling time out or simply ending it early isn't always or even typically an option. I thought your 10 run rule in baseball was a good comment....but unless things have changed, I believe both teams still have to play 5 full innings.

  7. I don't buy into the reps thing. I've been on both sides of the mercy rule. The winning team is hoping to get the game over without getting any of their guys injured and the losing team is just wanting to get out of there. Most teams sub down anyways once it starts, that's what JV & Frosh games are for. A team getting mercy ruled multiple games who wants more Friday night reps is a team that needs to get more reps in the off season so that it doesn't happen. Never hear the argument that baseball teams getting 10 run ruled are losing at bats. I don't care what the point total is but there are still too many games ending in 50 plus, 60 plus, 70 plus win margins to not get it going in the first half.

  8. Adams Central in my opinion has been the most consistent 1A program for a long time. Coach Mosser does a great job and I don't see them falling off a lot because they never do. They're, in my view, still the favorites to win the North until shown otherwise.
