  1. Would be nice if the AUTHOR of the topic actually said that.... Oh well! Congrats to the players

  2. I think New Pal is the "older" more seasoned team. As a long time observer (who also was in the press box the last time these 2 teams played) I know that the whole "weak schedule" screed about New Pal is just that...a screed. It has never mattered as to their playoff performance. Chatard is relatively solid but my sense is much of their exceptional talent is underclass...and will mature over the next year or two (not to take ANYTHING away from the Seniors there). With that, I very much believe that the winner of this game is the favorite at LOS.

  3. I don’t know much about either team but based on what I have heard and the small bits I have seen from each, I think it should be a good game. Here is what I could gather-some may be off, as they had games noted with different scores and I was too lazy to check: Andrean’s 2024 season: August 23, 2024,@ Merrillville High School (5A),Lost 0-27 August 30, 2024,@ Valparaiso High School (5A) ,Lost 21-28 September 6, 2024,@ Kankakee Valley High School (4A) ,Won 28-7 September 13, 2024,vs. Munster High School(4A) ,Won 28-0 September 20, 2024,@ Hobart High School (4A) ,Lost 24-27 (OT) September 27, 2024,vs. Highland High School (4A) ,Won 38-7 October 4, 2024,vs. Bishop Chatard High School (3A) Lost 14-39 October 11, 2024,@ Hanover Central High School (3A). ,Won 3-0 October 18, 2024,vs. Lowell High School (4A) ,Won 27-14 October 25, 2024,vs. Whiting High School (2A),Won 41-0 November 1, 2024,@ Wheeler High School (2A) ,Won 19-0 November 8, 2024,vs. Bremen High School (2A) Won 35-0 LCC 2024 season: August 23, 2024,@ Seeger High School,Class 2A,Won 55-6 September 6, 2024,@ Logansport High School,Class 4A,Won 23-21 September 13, 2024,vs. Twin Lakes High School,Class 3A,Won 56-21 September 20, 2024,@ West Lafayette High School,Class 3A,Won 12-7 September 27, 2024,vs. Rensselaer Central High School,Class 2A,Won 17-6 October 4, 2024,vs. Tipton High School,Class 2A,Won 35-13 October 11, 2024,@ Benton Central High School,Class 3A,Won 79-0 October 18, 2024,vs. Guerin Catholic High School,Class 3A,Won 22-21 October 25, 2024,@ Delphi Community High School,Class 2A,Won 63-21 November 1, 2024,vs. Western Boone High School,Class 3A,Won 28-20 November 8, 2024,@ North Montgomery High School,Class 3A,Won 60-6

  4. I've seen both teams and both are very good. I wouldn't be surprised if either team wins. It should be close but momentum is huge in these games. If one teams gets on a roll or gets a couple defensive/special teams scores, it may not be as close. New Pal will be very good regardless of how strong their schedule was this year.

  5. As a top team in 4A/5A I would agree with. But they can't keep up with the top ten programs in 6A on a year to year basis. Not with their small enrollment. I agree, I think they are a very good team for sure. I can get on board with 15ish, but for now, that's about as high as I would give them. If they beat Chatard, I'll concede that they are a Top 15 team.

  6. I’m not saying this team is the 2019 team, but I do think Ralph has built a program that CAN replace talent and reload as a top team in the state year after year. This team has loads of talent: they returned most of the team who reached semi state last year and they have multiple players with D1 offers. I hope you’re right, I’d love to see this young Chatard team win (if only to guarantee their spot in 4A for a little longer). But just saying New Pal is at worst a very good team, and very likely a top 10-15 team in my opinion.

  7. I took for granted most knew they were a home school team. Sorry about that.

  8. Good article, it does state Great Lakes Christian Conference. It's just that no one on this forum knows what that is. Google.

  9. @temptation I would say Center Grove and Decatur Central (both top 550 teams nationally according to calpreps) were very good teams in 2018 and they handled them. 2019 they played Cathedral, Center Grove and Valpo. All top 400 teams nationally, again according to calpreps. I’d say both of those teams were challenged, took punches and were superior to some really high quality teams. This year their toughest game has been against Greenfield Central who is ranked 2812 nationally. Their opponents combined records are 57-61 Chatard has lost to Cathedral (163) and Elder (429). They have beaten Columbus North (739), Roncalli twice (805) and Brebeuff (1405). The combined records of their opponents this year is 75-47-1 There is an enormous difference between 2018/2019 New Pal and 2024 New Pal. 2019 NP opponents were 91-71. 2018 NP opponents were 83-75. I just don’t see how you can compare their 2024 team to either of those earlier teams. I’m not convinced that New Pal isn’t the underdog in this game

  10. For my money I want to see which kids perform when the pressure ramps up. Chatard has 5 wins (and 2 losses) against teams that are better than anyone New Pal has played all season. In a mistake free game for both teams, with good to great coaching staffs and athletic kids on both sides, the scales have to tilt towards the team that has had to make plays late in the 4th quarter of a physical game. Sometimes a little doubt creeping into a kids mind can cause a critical mistake. As Mike Tyson said, everyone has a plan til they get punched in the face. Roncalli punched Chatard in the face Friday night. In fact, both teams traded punches til the final whistle. Has New Pal been punched? Their schedule doesn’t say so. 28-17 Chatard

  13. I was impressed with East Noble's win over Dwenger. East Noble is much better than they were in week 2. This East Noble team reminds me of the 2000 East Noble team that won state. They had David Gater on that team and everyone at East Noble was saying, "Don't go swimming"

  14. Let's not pretend that Crown Point's schedule is as easy as New Pal's. Stats don't mean anything to me. Crown Point is a 'run you over' type of team. I'm presuming New Pal is a pass happy team like they've been in the past. Do I want Crown Point to win state? Yes I do, anyone from true north. Do I care if New Pal represents the south? Actually, I'd love to see them in the state championship squaring off with hopefully East Noble. Chatard bores me. My only crime is making predictions without seeing either of these teams play. I'm solely going off of scores, historical facts, hearsay, and gut. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.
