  1. Just a hunch. Kids have to be coming from somewhere, and I didn't mean for it to sound like it was just because of football. The enrollment for Adams Central has continued to grow over the past couple of years at a very high rate. A school that is consistently in 1A for many years starts to make it to the state championship year in and year out, then would've been in 2A regardless of success factor due to enrollment. Kids are being drawn there from somewhere and for some reason. My guess was outskirts of Fort Wayne but could be from anywhere. Can't ignore the growth in enrollment though. There are many Jets fans on here that if they see this have a better explanation than I do, but like I said can't ignore the numbers. I've always said schools are kidding themselves if they think kids are just coming to a school for the academic draw. It's always been about sports more times than not when it comes to transfers. Watch Adams Central. It's not like they are running a lot of plays. Give kids a little bit of credit. Learning "belly", "down", "down option", and "rocket sweep" could happen within a summer.

  2. I don't see it as a big school/little school issue. A 2A school could be loaded at the RB position. The kid decides to transfer to a 6A school that needs help at that position. Could go either way.

  3. I can only assume Coach Mosser knows what he's doing and can get kids up to speed based upon their position, expected role, and amount of experience. Just a guess, but his track record suggests a guy who knows what he's doing🤷‍♂️

  4. Jones is there to compete and push AR. Its only a one year deal, which means Jones has to prove himself as well. He's also playing for his future. AR has to improve his accuracy....and decision-making. But mostly his accuracy. If a QB can't consistently complete an 8 yard out, he doesn't belong in the NFL. To date, AR can't make that throw consistently. Both are playing for their futures.....I am not sure either will stick. Only time will tell. Jay Cutler, Rex Grossman or Kyle Orton still around?????

  5. I would agree, if you sit in zone and the other team decides to do stall ball, then that is a counter and the zone D needs to adjust or be ok with the choice Whats next, stopping play every time a close shot clock violation? can't go to the monitor.......

  6. Agreed. I suspect it is nothing more than wanting to spend more time with his family. Coach Ward is a really good guy. Boonville has turf in large part to his efforts over the past several years, including some very clever social media posts. I don't think this has anything to do with the new rule as Boonville has never been a school that fell prey to transfers. I think he just wants the freedom to see his daughter play in college.

  7. AFAIK several years back it was made easier to go to schools within Adams County even if you didn't live in the district. But AC has had a waiting list for quite awhile. Yes AC has turned into quite the program lately but its not like it wasn't without success before. They made it to semi state 13 times before the recent runs and only won 1 time. I'm not sure what sent them over the hump lately but its not because of recruits from other districts lol. I think there was 2 kids from Decatur on the team the past 5 years, other than that im not aware of any transfers.

  8. I don't think its coincidence that we are getting resignations after the IHSAA released their new "transfer" rule. Unfortunately some coaches think that rule was put in place for them and not student athletes. Grown adults will take advantage of this and abuse it and I think we will continue to see coaches that never saw themselves as "recruiters" stepping away. Hopefully this is completely on Coach Ward's own terms. Best of luck Coach Ward (and Coach Daming).

  9. I'm not disagreeing in an "one off (or 2) "from Southern Allen County. But I certainly see those in North Adams, Blackford and even Wells heading over to Monroe and Geneva. Hopefully, as a FB supporter, this is just a cyclical situation at his time.

  10. Why didn't the opposing coach tell his players to stop playing zone defense (as asinine decision once they knew the other team was going to play stall ball) and go to closely guarded man-to-man defense? Most every strategy in basketball as an opposing strategy that can counter it.
