  1. Here are the sectional alignments in visual form. Each sectional is its own color, each class its own layer. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1k2u-A78p_SsvD9pLgQb2WNQtN-xHkHI&usp=sharing

  2. Here would have been my suggestion. Move Sullivan up to the western Indy (which now includes Crawfordsville) sectional. Move Indian Creek to an Indy/ East Indiana sectional. Move Corydon and NH to the Southeast corner. Alternatively, I could be talked in Sullivan in 32 which would push HH/ SR to the east in 31, which is how things were during the 2010's. 29. (7): Crawfordsville, North Montgomery, Tri-West Hendricks, Western Boone, Sullivan, Owen Valley, Edgewood 30. (8): Indianapolis George Washington Community, Speedway, Purdue Polytechnic - Downtown, Indian Creek, Heritage Christian, New Castle, Centerville, Rushville Consolidated 31. (8): Scottsburg, Corydon Central, North Harrison, Batesville, Franklin County, Greensburg, Lawrenceburg, South Dearborn 32. (8): Evansville Mater Dei, Evansville Reitz Memorial, Gibson Southern, Mt. Vernon, Princeton Community, Southridge, Vincennes Lincoln, Washington

  3. And 29 Sectionals and with that mindset...... Why would poor Luers stay in their conference..... poor Poor Poor Bishop Luers Not sure how they will survive this, you know a potential Sectional Showdown with Yorktown....... Muncie Central..... Delta...... Jay County, Logansport (hey we beat them last year) Kokomo.....Marian..... Then if they can survive that gauntlet....... then potential rematch at Regional with Conference mate Dwenger or East Noble.

  5. Bishop Luers playing in 4A having never won a 3A title in the history of their program. Although flattering, it's a flaw in the system. There needs to be a caveat to "total points." That being that a team WILL NOT bump up without winning a state title in their current class. If I'm coaching Luers, I'm hitting the recruiting trail heavy and poaching other coaches players in the process. Never thought I'd say that, but Luers needs to do what they need to do to be competitive at at the 4A level. Disclaimer: Poaching another coaches players isn't something I'd personally do. I'm just saying that I wouldn't blame Luers if they did it in this case. It will take a once in a generation type team for Luers to have a shot at winning 4A. Pretty slim. Another Jaylen Smith led type of team.

  6. 250 miles round trip from Corydon Central to Mt. Vernon! That being said, there is so much changing within 3A over this way. Charlestown and Madison bumped into 4A and Salem dropped to 2A, that really changes what the committee can do. However, potentially 250 miles round trip for a sectional game is crazy!

  8. Good question - not sure there was a great answer either way. (You might even have to bring 30 or 29 into the equation for a total rebuild) Looks like they went with the North/South separation for these 2...I (personally) would tend to lean to the East/West version of things- simply by drive times. For example - Mt. Vernon to Corydon and/or North Harrison is quite the hall compared to going to VL or Washington. The longest drive in the current format is 2 hours, 9 minutes The longest drive if you go East/West is 2 hours, 6 minutes So that's not much difference (obviously) - for me, it is more about the appearance of one school (on the committee) trying to avoid a sectional. Might not be true - but seems that way.

  9. Now we know why he left Maconaquah. Good luck to Mr. Fenters, he will need it. Sometimes moving to a new school because it is "bigger" is not all it is cut out to be.

  11. Today is the 95th anniversary of one of the darkest days in the history of the University. It was on this day in 1931 that a plane crash claimed the life of the legendary Knute Rockne. Rock was only 43 when he died. Imagine what he might have accomplished had he lived a full life.
