  2. Simple answer. The Kiser home is full. No room for another award.

  3. I actually think he did it because he wants to do his SOTU and this was a quick way to do it. Miller's sitting on Trump's shoulder with his pitchfork whispering that if Trump can just get on TV, he can convince the country, then he can do Shutdown 2019 v2.0 in mid-February and the entire country will now blame the Democrats. As for Stone, there'll be another distraction as Mueller's getting closer and closer to Trump's inner circle. I bet Don Jr. has a bag packed and carries his passport with him everywhere.

  5. I hear you! I just thought the explanation I found was funny. I am a firm believer that if the fans in the stands would make noise and cheer rather than yelling at coaches, officials, and their kids, we would have much more successful young men and women playing the games we all love!

  7. So then my question is, as an administrator, is coaching not a major "plus" for a potential teaching candidate? I would think that what you can glean from an interview and a resume is pretty limited. The commitment to kids and community that someone who takes a lot of time out of their day to coach, not to mention the connection with kids that you know will develop from coaching, in my mind has to at least factor a little bit into the equation. Can you really gain a significant amount of insight into someone's teaching ability vs someone else's teaching ability from a resume, some letters of recommendation, and an interview? I'm a teacher/coach that has been frustrated in the past by watching admin pass over someone that you know would coach for someone who is "better with their use of technology in the classroom" or "more innovative with their teaching strategies" (in actuality probably just better at throwing out buzz words in their interview). Only to see that person struggle to connect with kids and therefore struggle as a teacher.

  8. Ah, yes, forgot about the SOTU address. Thankfully I'll be watching Indiana High School Girl's Basketball at the largest high school gym in the State that night. I'm sure it's a Government boondoggle kind of a place, but I'm excited to see it for the first time.

  9. It depends on the person now, doesn't it? Does that justify making a post-secondary education free for everybody? And what about the supply & demand issue Mr. Greenhut raises?

  10. And I don't really care if they take the coursework seriously or not, if they pay for it with their own money. Using taxpayer funds to make it "free" however, is another matter.
