  1. Being a Mater Dei fan and parent, I hope you are right about the top of the list. I believe you are close but agree that this could be the year Reitz makes a leap. If Castle can score look out because that defense will be stout. I have no idea about Jasper but after last year there is no way I'm counting them out. Mater Dei has some big shoes to fill but there is a lot coming back too. Memorial has some questions to answer as well. It will be interesting to see who lines up in their backfield when games begin, but with that O-line they should be successful. I think the bottom half is spot on. North should be tough, Bosse improved, Central is going to have some tough times as will Harrison and VL. Can't wait to get going and we haven't even had a baseball game yet.

  2. I was just about to say it’s been quiet and see if anybody had any new updates or thoughts. Love me some early pre-season rankings. I mostly agree with your list. I think Memorial finishes at the top, especially if the RB situation works out. This could be the year Reitz jumps ahead of Castle and/or Jasper. Lots of young talent that is experienced now plus the huge addition that was previously discussed. I think North is just as competitive as last year but replacing a QB like Brawdy will not be easy. The top two seem unanimous, but the 3-6 could really finish any way. Your bottom four are probably spot on. We’re getting closer but it pains me that we’re still 5 months away from games. May even get an itch to try a preseason All-SIAC team soon.

  3. This is a disgrace to women athletics. I'm surprised the progressives around here aren't speaking up about this.

  4. The college cannot host the event and third-party organizations (such as Ray Compton's group that has hosted the days at Lucas Oil Stadium and some HSBB daily shootouts at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and the Indiana Farmers Coliseum) are also not allowed to rent college-owned facilities, as it's seen as giving a recruiting advantage. However, a state association like the IHSAA *can* rent out a college facility. It happens very frequently - the IHSAA used Indiana State's arena for the girls basketball State Finals for a few years. It also uses Worthen Arena at Ball State for the gymnastics finals, IU's track, Purdue's softball stadium and IUPUI's swimming pool for their respective State Finals. It won't happen for a neutral semistate, because the rental costs are too high. But the idea of using larger high school facilities might work.

  5. I give @DanteEstoniaa lot of credit. It appears he/she may have differing views then myself, @Muda69, @swordfish, but we are all able to have very civil discussions here. Wish more people would join to liven the discussion. It really has been quiet for what appears to be roughly 15 months +.

  6. Tears and Tension as the NCAA Awards a Women’s Championship to a Male Swimmer https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/tears-and-tension-as-the-ncaa-award-a-womens-championship-to-a-male-swimmer/ Outside, a female Virginia Tech swimmer spoke with a reporter about her teammate who was brought to tears after being bumped out of the finals by Thomas. Abraham Lincoln once asked an audience how many legs a dog has if you count the tail as a leg. When they answered “five,” Lincoln told them that the answer was four. The fact that you called the tail a leg did not make it a leg.

  7. So their enrollments are higher when they want government funding and lower to classify for sports? I mean this wouldn't surprise me at all.
