  1. Ben Davis at North Central - Ground and pound gets it done 21-17 Cathedral at Center Grove - CG was almost caught looking ahead last week. I give CG the edge because they're at home. 35-34 Lawrence Central at Carmel - They can start game planning for a Pike rematch and Brownsburg for the sectional championship 42-7 Lawrence North at Pike - I have picked Pike almost every week for an upset. Does LN come out flat after the huge game from last week? 42-34
  2. This is a program changer if LN can pull off the win. LN has lost two games by a total of 8 points, but I agree with your statement above. LN will need to score 40+ for a chance to win this game.
  3. My picks have been horrible, so I will put out what I think the spread should be: Carmel -6.5 at Warren Central: I will take the Greyhounds in this game. Should be a low-scoring game Center Grove -14.5 at LN: CG rolls again in this one LC at BD -7: LC has beaten BD the last 2 years.... I am taking LC +7 Pike at NC -4: NC seems to beat who they're supposed to beat and they lose to who they're supposed to lose too. They should win this game NC -4.
  4. I sure hope so. Danville has had to drop 2 games already this year. And the Hot Dogs are looking much improved and I would like to see their momentum continue
  5. Ben Davis at Carmel I think BD has improved with each game this year, and they bounce back after a tough loss to LN last week. BD by 3 Center Grove at Pike Everyone has already crowned CG the 6A champs, BUT NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND. Coach Ech and the Red Devils finally break through and get that statement win for the program. Pike will play to win the game and I predict the ball just bounces their way tonight. Pike by 1 Lawrence North at Warren Central LN wins in OT against a BD who just beat WC. I like the WC defense here in a low scoring game. WC by 2 North Central at Lawrence Central North Central wins by 20+. Hoping for some stability in the LC program soon as they've gone scoreless over the last 3 games.
  6. Bellmont at New Haven - New Haven should be much, much better than they are. Given that, Bellmont by 2 Columbia City at East Noble - East Noble lost 2 conferences games in a row for the first time since 2007. They rebound here in a big way EN by 14 Dekalb at Norwell - Norwell pulled off the win after being down 17-0. Something tells me the Knights will make some noise in the tournament Norwell by 21 Huntington North at Leo - Trap game as Leo is caught looking ahead HN by 1
  7. The once mighty Bulldogs are 1-15 the last two years. Are the Bulldogs still running their unique offense or have they gone a different direction? Are players leaving Monrovia to play at Mooresville, Plainfield, or Martinsville?
  8. I will have to defer to @StinkTownClown on the "BiG ReD & BlAcK", but I don't think any of those teams are as good as Mooresville who will represent the South in 4A
  9. I just watched a highlight of one of his runs against Heritage Hills (I think). And OH MY GOODNESS. I felt that stiff arm he gave to that kid on the sideline http://www.hudl.com/video/5f5bc5df8cd54211309fd9fc
  10. Chatard does not want to see the Danville Warriors in the playoffs, especially not the state championship. Because it will be hard to claim that it's a "down year" if they lose that game again
  11. Anything can happen in a one game scenario. IF, and it's a big IF, Center Grove gets upset in the tournament, the team coming out of the North can compete with any of those other teams in the South. If Center Grove makes it to State, I'll be heading to the bars early that night because I won't need to stick around LOS after the 2nd quarter.
  12. Coach Gillin made the right decision going to Mooresville. He avoids PP schools except Roncalli, which is not nearly as scary as Indianapolis Catholic Traveling All Stars 😂. Competitive conference and I think the win over Decatur Central shows this Mooresville team is taking the next step and is a serious contender. They need to beat a quality 6A team before I can say they have had a stellar performance. LN has the two most explosive offensive players in Central Indiana. Omar Cooper is the real deal. I am interested to see their results the next four weeks as you mentioned. If LN gets hot and wins these next 4 weeks, look out. Jeff Becker is the best quarterback I've seen play in Indiana this year. If he played in the Indianapolis area, he would be a household name. I like their chances to make some noise in the tournament because when you have a QB like that, you're never out of game. Mike Kirshner has surpassed expectations already in year 3. Excited to see what this team accomplishes this year
  13. Carmel at North Central Lawrence Central at Center Grove Lawrence North at Ben Davis Warren Central at Pike Can NC rebound after the beating from CG? Carmel narrowly escapes LN. This game is a toss up. Carmel by 6 Let's hope CG stays healthy CG by 50 BD gets a big win over WC and LN comes up just short against Carmel. Can BD keep up if this becomes a shootout? I don't think so. LN by 17 I really have no clue on how this game will go. Can WC score more than 21 points? Pike by 3
  14. Huntington North at Dekalb - Dekalb surprised me last week. I will be taking the OVER on 6 total passing plays. Dekalb by 1 Leo at Bellmont - I saw someone say that Leo if Leo could throw, they would win the state title. Not so sure about that, but Leo wins this matchup by 30 New Haven at Columbia City - CC escapes and New Haven gets thumped. How is New Haven not a top contender with EN and Leo year in and year out? I am taking CC by 2 Norwell at East Noble - EN needs to find a spark on offense. When was the last time EN lost two conference games in a row? You'll have to go back to the NHC in 2007... I am taking Norwell by 10
  15. Frankfort at South Central Hotdogs vs Satellites - is there a better mascot matchup than this one!? I'm going homer pick here and taking the Hotdogs by 7 North Montgomery at Western Boone Road does not get easier for Webo this week. North Mont by 14 Southmont at Crawfordsville Southmont by 7 Tri-West at Danville Danville is overrated. Two games is not enough of a sample size for me, especially since one of those teams was Crawfordsville. Tri-West knocks the Hender-snot out of the Warriors tonight. Tri-West by 20
  16. Bellmont at Huntington North HN wins easily 34 - 6 Columbia City at Dekalb Is CC for real? They need a blowout win here to continue their case. CC 42 Dekalb 14 East Noble at Leo Conference Championship - EN 21 Leo 20 New Haven at Norwell This should be a good game. Norwell 20 New Haven 19
  17. Just my spin on this. Is it that the talent is down at BD and WC or is it that kids from these other schools attend more camps and get more exposure? For example, when was the last time Boonville, Hobart, Mooresville, Floyd Central had a player in the Top 50? Are kids from BD and WC attending these camps to get noticed by recruiting agencies?
  18. Who are some players to watch for Penn? No stats on MaxPreps to go on
  19. Can anyone shed some light on Penn? The 1-2 record is misleading to me because Cathedral is outstanding and Valpo is really, really good as well. Will EN be able to make this a game?
  20. Does Jeff Becker have any big offers? I didn't see anything on 247sports. He throws a bit of a "moon ball" but his arm strength and accuracy is impressive while making it look effortless. He can also get out of the pocket and make plays with his feet. I decided to check out the game against North Side because it was free and didn't cost me $10 and it was the best game on last week.
  21. 1 1 Center Grove 110.84 88.05 9 110.86 1 110.68 1 2 3 Lawrence North 101.21 81.13 14 101.83 3 100.62 3 3 4 Hamilton Southeastern 100.11 92.37 5 100.09 5 99.76 4 4 5 North Central (Indianapolis) 99.59 90.75 6 100.79 4 98.42 5 5 8 Warren Central 93.86 106.55 1 92.50 10 94.68 6 6 9 Merrillville 93.85 73.15 34 94.30 7 93.32 9 7 10 Lafayette Jeff 93.59 75.83 24 94.28 8 92.87 10 8 11 Brownsburg 92.46 69.99 48 91.95 11 91.86 12 9 12 Avon 91.30 94.04 4 89.19 12 92.06 11 10 13 Carmel 89.41 100.11 2 88.32 14 89.26 13 11 16 Westfield 86.65 74.85 27 86.09 17 86.34 17 12 20 Lawrence Central 84.77 97.88 3 83.04 23 85.68 19 13 28 Elkhart 80.02 73.16 32 83.84 22 81.77 24 14 32 Fishers 77.06 74.53 30 74.73 37 78.06 32 15 33 Columbus North 76.67 63.49 67 75.54 35 77.33 34 16 38 Ben Davis 74.26 86.29 10 76.48 33 71.83 46 17 42 Carroll (Fort Wayne) 73.45 45.64 169 73.18 43 73.07 42 Carroll is grossly underrated. Brownsburg and Center Grove are the only teams listed above them who I believe would beat Carroll without a doubt. But as for the rest of the teams on this list, I would put Carroll as the favorite if they played this Friday.
  22. Center Grove 63 Ben Davis 0 Warren Central 14 Lawrence Central 7 Lawrence North 21 North Central 20 Pike 35 Carmel 34 Center Grove scores 49 in the first half. However, look for BD to upset CG in Semi-State this year. You heard it here first!! Warren Central pulls through on this one. The defense is good enough to carry them this game. LN - LC is a rivalry game, so conventional wisdom goes out the window on those games. Not sure what to think about LN or North Central at this point.... Pike is hungry for a win and they pull off the upset this week.
  23. Danville at Lebanon. Lebanon has had two tough non-conference games leading up to this one, and I was looking forward to comparing the Mooresville scores between both of these teams. I am taking Danville in a close one 35-31. Frankfort at Tri-West. I was happy to see the Hotdogs get a win last week. I look forward to them getting better and making the conference more competitive. Tri-West 42-14 North Mont at Southmont. I'll take North Mont 28-21 Webo at Crawfordsville. Webo gets back on track this week 42-21
  24. Pike 36-35. Pike wins on a 2-point conversion late CG 49-14 I don't believe Carmel has it figured out offensively yet. The beating from Cathedral and unimpressive win over Plainfield(who needed a 50 yd FG to beat Tri-West) has me wondering how good this Carmel squad really is. WC 20-14 I can see this being a close game the whole way through and it's a toss up for me LN 50-24 I might be giving LC too much credit here...
