  1. One of the best games of the weekend, and a lot of story lines. Private vs. Public. Danville has won the last two meetings against the Trojans. Surely, the Trojan faithful have had this game circled for a long time.
  2. Not the team Chatard wanted to see in the State Finals for sure
  3. Has Coach Gillin ever won a State Championship?
  4. My prediction for this game is 28-14 Danville. Danville wins the game and it's "boring" if that makes sense. They will methodically drive down the field by spreading the ball around on the ground and through the air. There isn't a lot of flash to them offensively, but they will execute and grind out the win. The Warrior defense does just enough to contain the big play and I don't think they will give up a TD through the air to Gasser, which will be the difference. I expect a great game and either way, I will be pulling for the Raiders or the Warriors next week in the State game.
  5. Definitely agree that familiarity plays a factor in the 2nd meeting with GS being close. I agree, but his arm will have to be the difference. I don't think SR can push Danville around up front, which is something HH did last year.
  6. What did Gibson Southern and Tell City do that was so successful against SR? I see that those were the closest game of the year for SR so far.
  7. 619 of that is from one guy, Mr. Gasser, who also has 1031 rushing yards. They are only completing 42% of their passes, which leads me to believe that the pass is a home run play for them given they have 17 TDs on 47 completions. Which is why I posed the question: Are they too one dimensional?
  8. We can have all the Chatard talk we want next week IF they win this week. I love this matchup between two solid programs. Is Southridge too one dimensional? They have THREE 1000 yd rushers, so why throw the ball? I don't follow SR, but have they trailed in a game this season?
  9. What was the Covid situation for Carmel? I could be mistaken but it looked like some starters were missing?
  10. You are correct, I had the wrong team up on Harrell's site.
  11. Nobody plays the Trojans tougher than Warren Central. This is a classic look ahead spot for Center Grove with Carmel on the horizon. The Warriors are playing their best football right now and Center Grove is coming off back to back bye weeks essentially. This game is at WC, which means CG loses a huge advantage by not playing at home in front of all of the CG faithful. This is the only game left on CG's schedule that I see a scenario where they get upset and lose. Can WC get rolling early and go up by a score? Does CG come out flat and get started slow on the road after two weeks of less than average competition? Will the WC coaching staff play to win instead of playing not to lose? I think so. In Friday the 13th fashion, the Warriors pull off the upset of the year. Warren Central 15 Center Grove 14
  12. Homestead Dwenger Norwell Eastside
  13. 6A Homestead vs Warsaw- Homestead 5A Dwenger vs North- Dwenger 4A Leo vs East Noble- Leo 3A Norwell vs Concordia- Norwell 2A Luers vs Eastside- Eastside. 1A AC vs Southwood- Southwood 1A SA vs Madison Grant- South Adams
  14. Northwood over Leo Pendleton Heights over Mt. Vernon
  15. Remember though, those were "down years" for Chatard
  16. So it's going to take a month of logistics to figure this out? Yet, just this year we have seen teams pick up games in a couple days notice? I am not following that logic. If ADs are serious about doing what's best for the kids, they will get this done. Jeff Becker and Duce Taylor are two of the best QBs in the State, but they don't get the statewide attention they deserve because they only play locally.
  17. If Ft. Wayne schools are serious about competing on a State level in one of the countries toughest divisions (6A), they need to split up the SAC. What they need to add is competition from Indy. Avon vs. Carroll, Dwenger vs. Chatard, Luers vs. LCC, Homestead vs. Brownsburg, Concordia vs. Guerin Catholic, etc. are exciting matchups. It would give teams in the NE8 an opportunity to play a SAC team as well. It would be a great experience for the kids of both teams to travel to each others cities. Ft. Wayne coaches can sell it to their kids that this is what going to State will be like. This benefits the smaller schools and the bigger schools. A win-win scenario and no brainer, in my opinion.
  18. Sectional 25 & 26 Mishawaka Marian looks like the team to beat out of these two sectionals. Are there any challengers who can give them a game? Sectional 27 & 28 I like Norwell to advance in 27, and 28 is a bit of a toss-up. Chatard and West Laf are the favorites, but other teams can compete with them in 28. Sectional 29 & 30 In 29, I can see Danville, Indian Creek, and Tri-West all competing with Ritter as a darkhorse. Sectional 30 looks like it could be any of those teams. Sectional 31 & 32 I like Stinktown in 31. They need to watch out for Brownstown Central tonight, but I like the Tigers to advance. In 32, history shows that when Southridge is good, they're really good. I am looking forward to Southridge vs. LBurg
  19. I'll take Center Grove 28-7. Cathedral has never won by more than 7 points in this matchup (from 2014 - Now). I think the biggest difference is the CG defense because the game is at CG. I think CG wins on the line of scrimmage and makes Cathedral one dimensional forcing them to throw the ball. Quick possessions and CG takes over and grinds out the clock to a win.
  20. I see what you're saying but watching LCC win another title was about as exciting as watching paint dry. I've seen it before and I'll see it again.
  21. We'll learn a lot about South Put and if they're legit this week as they face Heritage Christian. And I really hope you're wrong because I don't want to watch a P/P "1A" school in the state championship. I would much rather watch a small town team play like South Put, South Adams, Parke Heritage, Southwood, etc.
  22. Brebeuf (and North Mont) do not have one impressive win this season. I haven't seen a game from Brebeuf, but judging based on wins I don't think they challenge Chatard or WL. I think the winner of Chatard/WL rolls to regionals where Norwell or Concordia await
  23. Predictions: 6A: CG vs Homestead 5A: Cathedral vs Valpo 4A: Mt. Vernon vs Hobart 3A: Chatard vs Daville 2A: Eastside vs Triton Central 1A: South Adams vs Park Heritage
  24. 6A spoiler: North: Warsaw. As the weather gets colder, they get stronger. 5A Spoiler: North: Ft. Wayne North - One of the best QBs in the state and with a couple big breaks, they can beat Dwenger. South: Whiteland & Floyd Central - Whiteland is quietly 7-1 and Floyd Central has a couple of D1 kids if I'm not mistaken. I think we learn a lot about the Indianapolis Traveling Catholic All-Stars tomorrow night and if anyone can beat them in 5A 4A Spoiler: North: Hobart - Their 5-2 record is misleading. This is a good football team South: Boonville - really just a gut feeling Silver Creek - Always seems like they have a good record but can they make some noise this year? 3A Spoiler: North: North Montgomery - They could easily make it to the sectional championship and then have a shot at West Laf or Chatard South: Gibson Southern - not as hype around them this year so the expectations are not through the roof. Indian Creek - the Center Grove transfer running back they have is very, very good I have nothing for 1A or 2A
