Disappointed this game got canceled. Is Danville done for 2 weeks now?
-
Friday, Aug. 28 Danville at Mooresville, 7 pm I am taking the Warriors here. I was very impressed by what I saw on Friday night against Franklin. I think Warriors pull off the upset 42-41 Frankfort at Clinton Prairie, 7 pm I'm going Hotdogs here. Clinton Prairie got thumped last week, and I think the Hotdogs pull this one out 22-13 Hamilton Heights at North Montgomery, 7 pm Don't know much about Heights, but I like North Mont at home here. 34-20 Lebanon at Zionsville, 7 pm The Lebanon scored surprised me last week, Eagles pull away late 34 - 14 North Putnam at Southmont, 7 pm Toss up here. I'll take North Put 14 - 13 Plainfield at Tri-West, 7 pm Tri West will stay in this game. I think it will be low scoring, but Plainfield wins it 21 - 14 West Vigo at Crawfordsville, 7 pm West Vigo 40 - 20 Western at Western Boone, 7 pm Webo will continue to improve as the season goes on, but Western is too much this early in the season 34 - 26

Ben Davis University High School only has 410 students (2019-2020) 😉 https://bduhs.wayne.k12.in.us/school-information/ -
Week 1: Clinton Central at Frankfort, 7 pm Crawfordsville at Greencastle, 7 pm Franklin at Danville, 7 pm Mooresville at Lebanon, 7 pm North Montgomery at North Putnam, 7 pm Tri-West at Speedway, 7 pm Western Boone at Sheridan, 7 pm Predictions: Clinton Central Greencastle Danville in a close one Mooresville North Mont Tri West Webo

Danville Football
Knightmare replied to Knightmare's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I absolutely agree that there will be some quality candidates applying for the job. I think Danville and Mississinewa are the best two jobs open right now. I could also see a Mike Kirshner scenario happening - (A coach at a big school who is looking for a new challenge at a smaller school). -
I would like to hear how some veteran coaches have combated this crazy work-life balance I think the counter argument is that "my team will lose because others are out-working us" Could the IHSAA make certain rules that prohibit off-season schedules? They have started to do that now with some things. Otherwise, I think everyone will continue to try to "keep up with the Jones"

Danville Football

This opens up the job for Pelley at Danville. More resources, bigger school in the conference, won't be a 2A school in 3A due to success factor.......... -
He said that an announcement on his landing spot will be made on Monday.

Would you be in favor of an outside hire? What about a young coach or first time head coach? Because I would definitely apply for this job as a young coach looking for my first head coaching position.
-
Would you consider the move to Indian Creek lateral, or a step up from Cascade? Both schools seem pretty similar to me

Radtke hired as new Portage Head Coach
Knightmare replied to Tommy's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I know next to nothing about Portage. Do they have the athletes to compete with the MIC schools in the tourney? And how do they match up with the Ft. Wayne schools? -
I would like to applaud Noblesville and Fishers for making hires of guys who run a unique and different offense. Can't wait to see how it transitions to the HCC

Sure, Spegal isn't a New Pal kid. He's a Delta kid who needed a better opportunity for a D1 scholarship and more exposure and respect, so he went to New Pal. Here's a situation that isn't a hypothetical. I'm sure you're familiar with a kid who went to Cathedral, then Warren Central, then Indian Creek. Since he will graduate from Indian Creek, he's now an Indian Creek kid? Or how about a RB from CG who moved to Indian Creek and played there this year. He's an Indian Creek kid too?

Don't just take my word for it. Here's an article from 2016 that calls Yeast a move-in. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2016/09/15/center-grove-move--russ-yeast-takes-indy-area-football-storm/90400710/ My point is that Yeast was great BEFORE he ever stepped foot inside CG High School. He did not play in the little league or middle school programs at all, and only played at CG for 1 year. If he played there for 3/4 years, then I could see that argument but to only play one year at CG does not make him a CG kid.

No doubt the kids at CG have more inherent advantages than kids at all the other MIC schools besides Carmel, but I would like to stick to FOOTBALL. Let's not pretend that Yeast is a CG kid. He was a move in and already a great player before he got there, and credit to Coach Moore for maximizing his skill set. Of the other players you have named, I have only heard of Swann. What position do the others play?
