F1 has really cracked down on it. In Netherlands a couple of weeks ago (Max Verstappen’s home race) they were really monitoring incoming visitors for the smoke flares. Finally they’re now just saying not till after the race. Saw a few strays during the formation lap and when Max took the lead at Monza last weekend. It wasn’t bad until after. I’m no fan, of the smoke flares or Verstappen for that matter.

No one has said otherwise. Grow some stones and go talk to the people that can do something about it, don’t just run your mouth in an anonymous forum. I graduated from Seymour, I pay taxes in Seymour, I was a HC, and I certainly have expectations as to how our athletic teams conduct themselves. When I have a problem I either speak to the coach, which I did just last week, the AD, principal, or Superintendent. This is our concern Dude.

We have not run across this, Formula 1 is currently dealing with it however.

More excuses

The Deaf School used to use this giant bass drum for their snap count. It was right behind my HL the first scrimmage down. I swear he came 5’ off the ground!

Several schools are doing this with the newer lighting systems. To be honest I’m not a fan….but I do like it better than the damn cannon.

You know me, I’ve been around and seen some things and don’t impress easily. They were pretty good. I’d like to see them in a little more competitive game than what I saw. And it’s not like I’m driving very far to see a MS game, you can do the math. 8th grad was solid, good mix of athletes. Looks to me like a solid year or two uptick. No clue what is in front or behind these two classes. I don’t really see much HHC JV/Frosh anymore and obviously not their youth team. I also understand a LOT of things can happen between 7th grade and 11 grade. However this wasn’t a case of handing the ball off to the kid that went thru puberty in the 5th grade and has been held back a year. These kids had some skills.

Dude seriously I’ve listened to you bash coaches and administrators as long as you’ve been here. It’s not like people are standing in line to take all of these coaching positions. I suggest you get involved and make the changes you seek. It’s easy to sit on the sidelines and bitch, put up or shut up. I see youth, MS’s, even Frosh games every day that need help. Here’s your shot to fix everything at FC. I saw Highland Hills last week, I’m sure they have another coach’s shirt to fit you. My guess is you’re not the type to actually do any of the work, you’re they type who would grab the ear of any school board member who’d be willing to listen. FYI for the group, the 8th group from Highland Hills was pretty good, their 7th grade team ran a fairly sophisticated passing scheme. This could be a group to watch. They rivaled any on the Columbus Central teams during the Kiel years.

Aside from that did we do OK? Pretty easy game to work. Players played, coaches coached, we did our thing. Always a great atmosphere at GS.

By rule the kicker and the holder may be beyond K’s Free Kick Line. The kicker was not called twice for being “offsides”. K was called twice for pop up kicks. In talking with the coach it seems just misexecuted squib kicks.

I think Indiana has it right. Only tweak I would really like to see is possibly two different thresholds for invoking the running clock. 1st Half 35 point differential. 2nd Half 28 point differential I think we can all agree that some games need it in the first half.

I was fortunate enough to get to see this game last night. As much fun as I’ve had at a Football game in a while. Congrats to GS, big win for them.

To be honest, my playing days are starting to get a little fuzzy. But my experience is they’ll have 40 guys on the roster, they will play about 15 the whole game. They have no discipline, no conditioning, no real Football skills, they just do it on athleticism. And they lose late in the game to teams that are disciplined, conditioned, and have some fundamental Football skills. I’ve told this story 1000 times but it’s so demonstrative of the situation. We were playing at Jeff in the conference tournament. We were on the bus pulling into the athletic complex on the west side of the school. We notice a little 3 yard dumpster on the west side of the school with the lid open and flames shooting out of the top. I saw it and nudges one of the coaches behind me, if that isn’t Jeff athletics in a picture I don’t know what is.

I’ve been saying this for 40 years, I don’t think it’s going to happen. There is not a school between Indy and Louisville that produces the athletes they do.

I’ve always said everyone should coach high school sports once in their life, it’ll change your perspective a little. I will admit to being a little surprised when I got back in the locker room tonight and saw the score. Congrats to Coach Moore and the Owls. @Coachhesscan you go take FK’s shovel from him? Dude when you’re in a hole quit diggin!

That’s what I thought, unfortunately being red/green colorblind I’ve learned to really hate colored charts;)

What does “HHC Student Population Rank” chart mean? I would guess JC’s biggest population drop was the loss of “students” from the former Butlerville facility. What losses they’ve seen since is just a natural contraction of people leaving the area or choosing other schools. Sports transfers would account for some of this loss, but I suspect it’s a very small percentage of the loss. Good insight I’m sure with a little time on the DOE website we could tie some other stats like free and reduced lunches to these numbers and it would give us some real insight into what’s going on.

Not sure, been a couple of years since we’ve been there. He’s been say he’s about done for the last 20 years. I hope his clipboard ends up enshrined prominently on campus somewhere.
