Temp’s Top 25 (8/20/22)
Ballhawk replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I have 8. 1 from playing and 7 from coaching, but they have nothing to do with this topic. Like him or hate him, Temp is honest. It would be nice to see a team from north of Hamilton County or south of Johnson County in the 6A title game with a good shot to win. People get tired of seeing Alabama and Georgia in the SEC championship and CFP. New blood is always interesting. -
No problem sir. Thank you for all you do. Greatly appreciated.

Any idea when the ads will disappear and the booster year will be updated? Really I just want the ads to go away. Thanks!!

Just sent my yearly donation. Thanks for all of your work in keeping this running. Best $$ spent for the entertainment provided.

Week 1: Where are you going?

Go to Pax Verum before the game for a couple of cold beverages. Highly recommend. Tell the NN AD I said hello. He may know who I am. -

Wabash River Conference Week 1

I haven't been for a while. Too many good places nearby and the BH isn't worth the 75-minute drive. I like to make the trip to Michigantown to the Angry Donkey. -
Wabash River Conference Week 1
Ballhawk replied to Donnie Baker's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Covington @ Indy Washington - City speed vs. Beef House speed. I'll take city speed. Indy Washington used to be a cool place to visit. It is a historic stadium for watching Indy football. Crawfordsville @ Attica - U-g-l-y this ain't got no alibi, it's ugly. Yeah, it's ugly. Take the Athenians and tell Donnie Baker hello while you're there. LCC @ Seeger - This will be over early, like maybe 7:05. The Knights by as many as they want. Linton @ Parke Heritage - The Liptons return too much talent for the Woofs to handle. North Central @ North Vermillion - I'll take this is NC Farmersburg and not NC Indy. If it's NCF I'll take NV with a running clock in the 2nd half. Riverton Parke @ Pike Central - I'll jump on the bandwagon and take RP over PC. If you keep saying this is the year, one year you just might be right. Southmont @ Fountain Central - The Dudley Do-Rights spoil the recent Hall of Fame inductees debut with the Mustangs. West Vigo @ South Vermillion - It looks like Vermillion County might be the hotbed of the WRC this season. I'll take SV. Good luck to all teams. You're all undefeated until Friday around 10:00 PM. -
2022 Wabash River Conference Thread (WRC)

It's always sunny in Attica, isn't it Donnie? You should get a job as their promoter. I have a little more insight than I care to share, so let's get on with the season. Good luck to everyone. Hope they can all put a product on the field. -
Looks like someone got hooked big time 🐠. Must have turned off his sarcasm detector. Why do AC fans feel the need to bash someone in an HNAC thread? Don't you take enough a** whoopins in the playoffs? It's entertaining to see how the HNAC folks are so much more active now that the Pioneer demon has been exorcised. At least it makes for some interesting reading material. In the immortal words of Donnie Baker - I gotta go!

What's the over/under on how long until they burn their bridges and pi** everyone off at NP? There's usually a reason why coaches job hop so much. It sounds like with his son it truly proves the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Hope it works out for the Cougars. -
Verified Helicopter Football Sightings 2022
Ballhawk replied to hhpatriot04's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Most of the Indianapolis TV stations don't even have sports segments any more. You don't see the Indians, Fuel or Fever reported about on TV. It's sad. -
I don't think this is a possibility unless the school shows some growth in the next 10 years. Football was the reason they stayed in the HC for so long, but the other sports were suffering from being in the HC. They have competed much better in the Hoosier Heartland. The school that I see outgrowing the HHC is Eastern. They would be a better fit in the CIC or HC than Sheridan or maybe even Pioneer. Probably just a little too far away for some of the HC schools though.

Public schools recruiting
Ballhawk replied to Trojanmp52's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I received a flyer in the mail from CC last week, so they are approaching the Sheridan area for students as well. They even had bus pick up points for all of the surrounding school districts (Sheridan, Carroll, Clinton Prairie, Rossville, Frankfort and Western Boone). Pretty aggressive marketing if they are including transportation services. -
2022 Wabash River Conference Thread (WRC)
Ballhawk replied to a topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I would venture a guess to say that Fountain Central has been the class of the WRC over the long haul. Occasionally one of the other schools would have a few solid classes and have a good 3-4 year run, but as it is with small schools talent is cyclical and these schools ride the roller coaster. My question is has Herb King now tied Brian Moore's record of coaching at the most WRC schools? He's been at Rockville, Seeger & Fountain Central. Moore was at Seeger, FC & Parke Heritage. Does Herbie like Brian's sloppy seconds? -

Where's Donnie Baker when you need him? He'll set everyone straight on the WRC this season. I swear to God he will. -
I think team camps on a college campus are for the benefit of the college. What better way to get prospects on campus to evaluate them? I think schools are better off to host multi-team scrimmages on their campuses. More team work gets done this way. Just my humble opinion.

2022 North Central Conference Thread (NCC)
Ballhawk replied to a topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Did leaving the HCC have any influence on the success of the Tippecanoe County teams? They were pretty much the whipping boys of the HCC, so I can only imagine moving to the NCC improved their participation levels and success on the field, at least during the regular season. They still have struggled in the postseason. -
Blue Bloods - Indiana High School Football

We knocked off Lawrenceburg in the Regional (now semistate) and then North Judson in the final. Two pretty big and hard-hitting teams. I may be a little bias but we were pretty good too. -

It's not the size of the man in the fight, but the fight in the size of a man. That little front 7 were some pretty darn good football players.
