  1. I think the score predictions on here are greatly exaggerated from an offensive standpoint. As I said before, Brebeuf hasn’t seen anyone like Allen but GS hasn’t seen anything like Brebeuf (other than the KY team). I am placing the O/U in the 50s.
  2. I am usually a big school guy but for some reason the 5A/6A games just don’t move the meter for me. I think it has to do with the geography. I think the other four games have the potential to be extremely close and could go either way. I’ll sleep on my predictions one more night.
  3. Thanks for the kind words but I think that the "rebound" from the lowest part of BD's season in terms of getting off the mat was the Warren debacle followed by the sequel at LN. They let one loss turn into two. They played a brutal schedule that was front loaded.
  4. Never said they should be ashamed but a program like Ben Davis doesn't measure itself by semi-state appearances. Its no fault of their own, but their "resurgence" in the second half of the season is largely exaggerated.
  5. Cathedral is just taking advantage of the system in place. No fault of their own. Insinuating that any group should voluntarily “play up” is asinine. Wouldn’t be fair to the kids as in most scenarios, talent and skill level varies from year to year.
  6. Yeah, good call. I mean you resorted to "Well, Tech had a winning record, lol." Yes, the Brownsburg win was impressive but its BEN DAVIS man. With the way their schedule is back loaded, they are going to give you that warm and fuzzy feeling every November until realignment occurs. It'd be like Alabama, playing their SEC schedule first, and then closing the season with Charleston Southern, Wofford and The Citadel before the SEC championship game and then citing those performances as an honest evaluation of their season.
  7. LOL @ a Cathedral fan accusing someone of having an "inflated view"...
  8. So admirable. You think about me much more than I think about Cathedral. You should really let your spouse know about us.
  9. 35? I think you are vastly under estimating the Brebeuf defense. They haven’t seen anything like Allen but GS hasn’t seen anything like Brebeuf’s defense (not knowing much about South Warren admittedly). Brebeuf’s D held opponents not named Cathedral to nearly two TD’s per game fewer than their season average if my math is correct. GS will score but I’d be shocked if they got 35.
  10. I know what you’re trying. When we settling this IU bet?
  11. I mean, it was even Georgia Tech…the game where Rudy got his “sack” (though he WAS offsides).
  12. “Us?” Settle down Rudy.
  13. Then why the hyperbole every November about how this BD team “rises from the ashes” of a poor regular season?
  14. Hard to win with a broken Penix.
  15. Fair to say they are a few plays away from 8-3/9-2?
  16. They have to beat Brownsburg OR Carmel, not both. Not “headed down the drain” by any means but let’s not pretend they’ve climbed some mountain by beating Brownsburg (perennial November choke artists). Anyone with a BRAIN picked CG on Friday night. Only those with an emotional attachment to the BD program or those needing a mental evaluation chose otherwise.
  17. Eh, don’t believe in that destiny nonsense.
  18. The Vegas O/U on Michigan wins was 7.5…
  19. Cool they are going to be good next week but how is that going to help them next YEAR?
  20. A simple study of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs (be honest in thinking you’d never see that cited on a football message board) should let you know where I stand on this topic. It’s worth reviewing if you haven’t brushed up recently. @Bobrefhinted at it in another thread but refused to come out and say it. Look, on any particular Friday night, any team can be beaten. These are 15-18 year old kids. But what happens the other 166 hours of every week can’t be ignored. Watch the news every now and then. While depressing more often than not, it’ll open your eyes in terms of the lives lived by students of these particular districts. Some are worried about what football camp they are going to attend next summer… others about where their next meal is going to come from.
  21. I’m still talking MIC which sets them up nicely for state. I’ll keep waiting on the HCC though. Westfield and Brownsburg are the future but I’m getting a bit tired of waiting. Not sure if next year is the year.
