  1. USC? FSU? Navy? Stanford? Those “rivalries” are one-sided for the Irish and have been for the last half decade. Stepping up and playing Clemson helped their profile but I think the lack of a signature win and recency bias (the Irish’s recent playoff performance) is going to cost them. I see no path for ND unless things implode for 2-3 teams not named Georgia and Alabama.
  2. Piling on by stating that ND will probably cover the spread and the postgame festivities will be exciting?
  3. Good for the committee… for the most part. Takeaways: 1. Bama just plays buy a different set of rules than everybody else. They could probably lose again and still get in. 2. Glad to see that head to head matters and Oregon was over OSU. Otherwise, why play the games? 3. Cincinnati is officially screwed. I see no path for them back into the top four. Their best win is behind them. 4. Oklahoma and Notre Dame getting punished for not winning impressively over bad teams as the wait a game plays out is much more important than looking at the box score afterwards. I have never been one to get fired up about this as I realized it is all politics and talking points going forward. It will eventually shake itself out with little controversy.
  4. So he could just show up with 3 minutes left in the fourth and not miss the best part of the game?
  5. Let me also point out however that I’d LOVE to be wrong.
  6. There’s data out there regarding NFL draft picks and their star ratings out of high school and though I’m too lazy to look it up right now, it speaks highly of 2/3 star recruits having more success at the college and pro level compared to their 4/5 Star counterparts.
  7. Wait, I thought Tom Allen was a phenomenal developer of talent. Or was that just last year?
  8. The ILLUSTRIOUS ND/Navy rivalry that is akin to a hammer hitting a nail regularly. Man, ND’s current “rivals” are a joke. No excuse to not win 11 games annually.
  9. He's the head coach. He bears a level of responsibility for every decision made regarding his program. What's the line in South Bend this weekend?
  10. Who made the decision to practice outside despite the wind gusts being 53 mph, (ironically a mph faster than the day before when Kelly decided to move practice indoors)? Hold your leaders to a higher standard. Back on topic, HUGE "rivalry" game for the Irish this weekend against NAVY.
  11. Eh, I'll take top 4... https://gridirondigest.net/leaderboard/?time=year
  12. And Brian Kelly had little/nothing to do with the 2010 incident...
  13. A fan of a team coached by Brian Kelly hating on Jim Harbaugh is rich… https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.latimes.com/sports/chibrknews-notre-dame-fined-77500-for-lift-death-20110315-story.html%3f_amp=true
  14. Which I completely get and you are correct but the same Cathedral posters start topics in here on a weekly basis talking about "I hope Cathedral doesn't over look this team" or "this team could make things interesting" when in fact its window dressing as the Irish are at least 3 scores better than everyone in 5A and could probably still win 5A by double figures on an "off night."
  15. Eh, I can get on board with this. Splitting hairs really. Clemson benefitted from a weak ACC for years so its only fair Wake gets the same opportunity. Being undefeated in a power 5 conference should earn you recognition.
  16. I love how everyone seems to have much more confidence in Cathedral than their OWN posters... Though in reality, I bet they are just trying to drum up excitement for their contests each week. Maybe if they convince themselves that the other team will make it competitive they feel like they get their money's worth? Much less boring that way.
  17. I could totally see this happening. The oddsmakers STILL don't believe in the Spartans, evidenced by them only being 3 point favorites on Saturday.
  18. Yes, another great point.
  19. Feel like they will find a way to lose…the Michigan Wolverines of 6A football. Can’t win big games but beat who they are supposed to.
