Sure would be nice to have start times of 7:00. You know like the rest of the State does. I hate that our conference does 6:30 start times for teams both in Evansville.

Jasper wins by 2-3 scores. Castle/MD. Surely MD has a better performance than last year’s blowout loss to Castle. They looked like they ran the ball well last week. Castle by 3 scores. Reitz/Vincennes. Vincennes did better last week than most expected. Reitz by 3 scores. Memorial/North. Is North defense legit? Memorial is too much. Wins by 2 scores.

North starting RB (Rucker) had 16 carries and 28 yards.

Castle defense looks solid. The running game got going for Castle in the second half when needed. Castle offense ran only 21 plays and had the ball for 7:15 mins.

What is North bringing back? How many SIAC schools run 22 different starters? Castle has done this for a long time and I wonder if it helps or hurts? Helps because it gives good rest and lets players focus on one job. Hurts because your best athletes are only on the field half the time.

The intra squad scrimmage this Saturday is now at the middle school. All the prep work looks done so it’s just laying the actual field turf. I’m interested in the coconut instead of rubber material. It’s a Sprint Turf field

Hearing that Boonville’s field is getting finished during the night tonight then that company is starting on Castle’s soon. They are using ground up coconut husks instead of black rubber pellets.

Used to hate the idea but now the idea of growing the SIAC to 12 or 14 teams seems to make sense. What would it take to bring on Boonville, Gibson Southern, Heritage Hills, and Mt Vernon? Make two divisions in football. It would let the schools still have cross division rivals and also add a couple out of conference games.

Boonville is laying their turf now. Castle has almost all the prep work done and will be laying theirs down soon.

Castle should be seeing some new WR faces this year as Antonio Harris graduated and Will Coleman is not playing due to D1 baseball scholarship. Would expect Wells (Sr), Salpietra (Sr) and Pritchard (So) getting some serious reps Expect to see a solid run game as McCool has only gotten stronger and faster. Staying healthy is key for him. The TE position should be led by Aigner (Sr) with Hurt (Jr) seeing some playing time. OL graduated a few starters, but returns a solid group being led by Adamson (Sr). QB is a battle between Lene (Sr) and Morgan (Jr). Morgan started the last few games at the end of the season last year so you would think he has a leg up. On the defensive side the team has to expect a solid year as almost every single starter from last year is returning. DL should be solid with Patterson (Sr) and Herrman (Jr) leading the way. LB position is one of strength with Leach (Sr) and Ward (Sr) leading the way. The secondary should also be strong with Belwood (Sr) leading at Safety and Farmer (So) coming in. An early exit in the postseason and/or not competing for the SIAC would probably be a disappointment.

I’m pretty sure the Reitz bowl with standing room only is around 10k. No way the jungle can get remotely close to that.

Make it make sense: - Heritage Hills at Batesville is a 3 hour drive - Gibson Southern at Tri West is almost 3 hours - Heritage Hills and Gibson Southern are 45 minutes away from each other (and in the same conference) - Tri West and Batesville are 80 minutes from each other. - Why are these regions together? WHY?
