  1. Ohio State opened season against 2 MAC teams and Marshall. No media member said a word. IU destroyed a Big 10 bowl team that OSU barely beat at the Shoe with a 4Q comeback yet people and the media “forget”. IU beat both last year’s national champion and national champion runner up (latter with a backup QB and both teams are bowl teams this year)and it doesn’t count. But had another “blueblood” got those dubs, it would have absolutely been mentioned as a positive. It’s all about the name on the front of the jersey. IU’s a newcomer, they weren’t in the equation, they used to be the easy win, and the CFB establishment doesn’t like it….not one bit.
  2. I read the same. Wasn’t sure of the accuracy of this…can teams make offers known BEFORE a player enters the portal?
  3. While not a fan of either team, thought this was a cool photo….
  4. I understand he’s leaving, but he understands who’s greater than…..
  5. Not a big disagreement about Franklin, but what has ND really done over the last decade as well? BTW, I am very fond of the Irish.
  6. Only 2nd to OSU….
  7. Is this a joke?
  8. USC is not a stellar team this season. Good team…not a stellar team. Just saying USC was more than effective against ND with the pass. My comment was in reference to the comment about ND’s pass defense ranking.
  9. Excellent recent piece on the life of Army & Navy football players.....Heather Dinich and Chris Low https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/42879498/inside-army-navy-day-life-students-service-academies
  10. Rich Rod returning to his "home" for next season. Will be interesting if he can bring the level of success he had at WVU as he did the first time around. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/42920015/sources-rich-rodriguez-set-return-west-virginia-coach Pretty sure he's Temp's 2nd favorite former Michigan coach......
  11. Great insight. I was just commenting about the Irish run ranking being so good is because they are stronger with the run than the pass, thus they rely on their strength as they should. ND’s pass defense is good. Helps when a team plays 2 service academies. USC lit them up for 3 TDs and 360 yds passing. Not a stellar USC team. I do agree with the weather potential. IU can run the ball as well. Perhaps a reason for their run ranking not as good as ND, is because IU has a more balanced offense.
  12. Perhaps out of necessity....if the passing game isn't as good. Perhaps IU stacks the box and makes the Irish pass to win. We shall see.....
  13. that's a shame...put that on your bucket list. Rudy's Dad was certainly a fan....
  14. While this is certainly a different IU team, I have been in Memorial Stadium before and watched the Hoosiers lose to Navy. https://navysports.com/news/2013/9/7/navy_grinds_out_41_35_win_at_indiana.aspx
  15. Some nice recognition for the Hoosiers. Congrats Coach Cig and players! https://www.idsnews.com/article/2024/12/indiana-football-big-ten-all-conference-awards-iu-bloomington https://apnews.com/article/ap-all-big-ten-70f57efee17f4ac124d2dfa1241a6a56
  16. Perhaps...just so many bowl games. 12 of the 18 Big 10 teams in a bowl. https://bigten.org/fb/article/blt4f6665a72b55d303/
  17. Oh man....I just cannot pull for Kirby. He may be a great coach, but his interviews and sideline antics just wear thin with me. Guess he does kind of look the Bulldog part...... Not looking promising right now for Beck..... https://www.ajc.com/sports/georgia-bulldogs/injured-georgia-qb-carson-beck-pretty-somber-after-mri-kirby-smart-says/X54YH5HWYFE6DDFMMAQM7ZA4NA/
  18. one of my best pals, a Penn State guy, was showing me how cheap it was to get in the game. I think we all know the OSU fans purchased a ton and then had to offload them to 2 teams that are not considered local midwest. Almost picked up a couple to go with my son-in-law (Penn State grad) but he and family came down with a virus/fever. But to your point, I have to wonder if demand will drop. I noticed that in the Clemson and SMU game, the entire upper deck was open. Clemson is pretty darn close to Charlotte.
  19. Interesting proposal....not that my opinion means much, but really struggle with Boise and ASU getting byes. I think the whole concept of conference championship games will need to be evaluated as well. Not only can they end of being disadvantages to the teams playing in them, asking much out of fan bases to travel that much in Dec.
