  1. I would agree with that one....
  2. There it is!! The love affair with everything Harbaugh continues on full display!!!!
  3. I get you don’t like it, but “Walmart Wolverine” is never played out…don’t fight it…just roll with it…
  4. Absolutely the home games are a huge advantage. Especially for the northern teams if they play a southern team. Projections I’m seeing is that ASU will be in top 4….which seems crazy.
  5. Nothing personal to the Purdue community...sure hope Monken doesn't leave Army. That man is a perfect fit at the USMA and has done an incredible job as their head football coach.
  6. No…my point is that great collegiate coaches are not confined to only FBS schools.
  7. I’m not talking about Cignetti. My response was to your post.
  8. Are you so sure about that? I bet Jim himself would say his Dad Jack was a better coach. Jim got a title at FBS....Jack a title at FCS. (Western Ky at the time was FCS) My guess is that Jim and John both will tell you they owe everything to their Dad...especially their coaching abilities. Eddie Robinson is one of the best coaches in the history of college football. Grambling is a FCS school. I think you have an issue with thinking bigger is always better.....
  9. Yup….his Elon team took out James Madison when they were top 5 FCS. We know how highly you think of those FCS teams….especially App State back in the day….
  10. No disagreement there PHJ. Its all about the brand with certain "football" schools.
  11. I don't know...it was still a loss to a FCS team.....not sure how one can polish that turd....
  12. You mean like OSU's non-conference schedule this year? Akron, Western Michigan, Marshall. In 2023, they had Youngstown State and Western Ky on their schedule. (Note, they did have Notre Dame as their other non-conf game)
  13. Hopefully, IU learned some things from the OSU game. (in addition to a punter catching a snap and punt team coverage) Crowd noise impacted them, but I would say the inability to handle blitz packages from a strong and fast team was a killer. (both on the field and the O coordinator) My guess is that any team that plays them in the playoffs will watch the OSU game video and replicate. If IU didn't learn from the OSU game, it will be a long day.
  14. Nice win over the mighty Cornjerkers.....
  15. Maybe Coach Salah simply thrives in a "small town". "Yeah, I can be myself here in this small town and people let me be just what I want to be"
  16. Amy Adams Strunk...is she the same owner that pushed away legendary Coach Tony D'Amato for the up and coming offensive minded Nick Crozier? As a result, the Miami Sharks were never the same.......
  17. Hey Coach...there is no doubt IU has a wealthy athletic budget. But somehow I don't think they paid the farm for players from James Madison, Ohio U, Kent State, Wake Forest, etc. It would seem the real key is how to take 3* type players and develop them to exceed their perceived potential. It would seem this is trait of Cignetti and his staff and it would seem there are other coaches out there with this ability as well. I am not saying IU won't go after the 4 and 5* players...they will and they will have the funds to get a few....but with Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Michigan in the neighborhoods, that will always be the chore ahead of them. But if they can absolutely beat the Louisville's, Illinois, Michigan State's, Cincy's, Kentucky's and Purdue's, their lives will be easier. Perhaps Purdue also has to think in this way.
  18. Wonder if Vrabel high on the Bears list puts pressure on the Ohio State admin?
  19. Little surprised to see that one, given his home and the family's university connections.....
  20. That's cool....I respect your view. I just struggle with your comment that he is not afraid to take on a hard story and tries to find the truth....in most cases, as an column guy, much of his work is opinion based, and his opinions align with his personal beliefs. That being said, I am not saying he is wrong in this particular case. Glad it worked out for the kids.
  21. How about the D Coordinator at Penn State??? "a one and a two....you know what to do....."
  22. Potential candidates from the NY Times https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5956030/2024/11/29/bears-head-coach-candidates-list/ SI's list https://www.si.com/nfl/top-candidates-for-bears-head-coaching-job Local Chicago NBC affiliate https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/sports/nfl/chicago-bears/potential-bears-head-coaching-candidates-after-matt-eberflus-firing/3612383/ I would agree that names are being thrown out to see what sticks. It is interesting to see in these list potential trends for certain names.....
