Yes, without question MD is the better program. I think you can argue Castle does less with more resources (# of students, weight facilities, program $, etc.) than any of the upper echelon SIAC teams. It's a head scratcher IMO. What Mike Goebel has done at MD is amazing. Prior to him being HC, MD had success, but nothing like what they've had in the 20+ since he's been in charge. Nick Hart was the final piece of the puzzle. A lot of GS people had worked for years to build a program starting at the younger ages. So while he deserves credit, so do a lot of people who had already been working for years before he arrived.

No predictions for me either. I think both teams are very similar - hard-nosed, disciplined, and athletic - and if a kid who had to be carted off a week ago is considering trying to play, then its pretty obvious your kids love their school and team as much as ours do. Here's hoping for a great game. Safe travels to all the EC fans. Regardless of the outcome, I think the EC fans will enjoy Enlow Field. It is one of a kind.

But young kids are also less coordinated and have less strength to withstand an impact and more importantly, control their bodies (head) when they go to the ground. I'm not a big fan of these kinds of youth tournaments. Our feeder program is tied very closely to the feeder schools, so we are often limited because of when our designated season ends. We have on occasion had teams participate in these kinds of things. I know we had a 5th or 6th grade team play in an event a few weeks ago. My biggest concern is the inability of some adults to do what's in the kid's best interest because they are trying to relive their own glory days. I shudder when I see twitter videos of "baby" Derrick Henrys in youth leagues running over much smaller defensive players. Certainly do not know enough about any of these events to judge, just giving my personal thoughts.

Heck no Lysander. I wasn't meaning to infer that at all. I remember seeing that the 2018s had beaten Cathedral and thinking "uh oh". And that was one of the strangest games I've ever seen. Nothing went right for BC. We are still below 600, but our enrollment has increased this year for the first time in a while. We have a new President in charge who is solid and we seem to be making some inroads in attracting some kids from outside of the feeder schools. Had several play on our MS teams this fall. Don't disagree with the premise that team > individuals, but 2018 was the last time the Trojans beat the Irish, so that says something about the 2018 team (not knowing much about Cathedral that year). Reitz has a great history, but their results and post season success in recent years pales in comparison to EC.

LOL. Have seen a lot of film. Best team we've faced since Chatard 2008 or West Lafayette 2018. And they have much more depth than us.

I'm not buying Harrell's prediction of Memorial (-1). EC is a school of 1,225 with a football tradition unlike anything we see in the SIAC. Laying at home will help, but I'm not sure it's enough. We'll need some magic.

I had a feeling MD would pick Friday to avoid an early Saturday time. MD may have wanted an earlier start Friday so they can get home before 2am.

In 2017 the orange Tigers rolled into Evansville as 2016 state runners up and went home after Memorial hung 56 on them and had 300 yds passing in the first half. They've been here before...

I'll give credit to the crew we had last night at Northview. At one point when it was becoming clear Memorial was controlling the game and frustrating the Knights, things began to get chippy. Quick offsetting unsportsmanlike-like conduct penalties pulled things back into check for the most part.

In lop-sided games, the sooner it ends the better to reduce the chances of incidents like what took place last night between FW Wayne and Mississinewa.

Not counting the 90 +/- drive at the end against the JV, I'm pretty sure it was less than 100 total yards O for Northview.
