Bremen appearently is losing tons of gate money in most sports playing the South Bend schools. The leadership at that school has been suspect for almost 20 years now. They don't tend to have much foresight when it comes to the big picture. They are tend to be like the little dutch boy and his finger in the dike. They keep trying to plug holes with the easy solution and have really layed a ground work for success. They have a few good coaches in some programs, but other programs they just keep rinsing and repeating. There hasn't been any financially investement of note in athletic facilities in almost 30 years. They have lost some good coaches to other places because the coaches are more invested in success then the actual school. The like to brag about giving kids oppurtunities, but the oppurtunities don't have much cooridination in a school wide plan. I know there is some new energy in the elemetary school for some sports, but I'm afraid once those kids and parents move up no one will continue the effort.

The MLS is a pyramid scheme. They started expanding and now are addicted to the growth of expansion fees to profit. The teams that got in early are set, the teams on the bottom that get in late are going to get crushed. The MLS isn’t even the most popular league in this country. La Liga MX and the EPL are at the top. Then add in the other club tournaments, the MLS is an afterthought.

I’ve grown to like soccer a bit, but I can’t stand the MLS or other leagues after watching the other leagues on TV.

Can they stick with the status quo?

Step up or step out. You have to get out of your comfort zone if you want to compete at the next level. If you aren't getting better, you are getting worse.

I don’t mind my money going to the IHSAA, but I have problem with my money going to ticket company’s at 30% mark up.

This was definitely a down year in the NIC south, and same for most of the big schools as well. As a region, area football is falling further behind other regions. Michiana at one point was above Fort Wayne and right beind Indy. That is clearly not the case anymore. Sending 2 or 3 teams to state was common, they are lucky to get one now.

What a colossal failure on the part of those senior leaders at NorthWood. In order to win state you have to be completely focused. They are not the first and won’t be the last to make a self centered choice. Actions have consequences, tough way to learn that lesson. Glad it happened this way and not with a horrible car accident.

The St. Joe-NW game just got a lot more interesting.

I will add that since the merger, Bremen, Jimtown, and Glenn have not been as good either. A lot of factors have contributed, but these programs seem content with doing ok in the JV division and don’t seem as motivated as they were in prior years. In the old days, if you won the NSC you were a solid team that could make a deep run, winning the NIC JV does not reflect that. Football in the region is not a state standard anymore, other regions have passed us up and continue to widen the gap. That can be said for the DAC, NLC, and other northern conferences.

Rumors of administration dismissals for insubordination.

Major shake up occurring with administration at Bremen. Things in the school may finally be refreshed.

They’ve been live streaming them the last couple years.

I’ve been on here since I was 19 or so, some years there is a lot of good debate, other years not so much. I am 41 now, I’m older and more cantankerous. Don’t like the things I see from my alma mater. I feel like they are just going through the motions and aren’t thriving for more. This isn’t necessarily the football team but all sports. Stepping back a bit further, as a region I think we continue to fall behind the rest of the state and the gap grows larger every year.
