  1. Woodlan HS Head Coach position is open Please submit a letter of interest or a resume for each position to jobs@eacs.k12.in.us by no later than 4:00 p.m. on December 4, 2023, to receive consideration for this position.
  2. The poster is his dad. I found out he was on staff when Allen was the DC at IU. They came to Homestead HS for a 1 day camp. Pat and Mark Hagen were the D Line coaches. I have some not so good memories coaching against those Roncalli teams he was on.
  3. I am looking forward to the playoff as well. The talk in the pregame shows about the Michigan osu game was that the game will have less meaning, but I don’t think it will. I think teams will still fight for a higher seed, especially the first 4 since they get a bye. The biggest change besides the playoff will be bowl games. I guess they can tag some of the playoff games with those bowl names, but I don’t think they should be neutral site games. Potential problem with neutral sites. Say osu is a 5 seed playing a 12 seeded LSU. But the Superdome/Sugar Bowl already had been guaranteed the 5/12 matchup, it could hardly be called a neutral site. I am ok with the championship game being a neutral site though, but all others should be home games for the higher seeds. Another potential problem conferences need to consider is whether to continue the conference championship games. A team may reach that game but only been ranked around 10th in the CFP Poll. Losing the conference championship game could cost them a spot in the playoff while someone else in the same conference could miss playing for the conference championship but make the playoff. I know this one is an extreme thing, but it’s definitely not an impossible scenario…..Michigan and osu go into the last regular season game tied for first in the conference. The loser could still finish in 2nd place, setting up a rematch the following week in the conference championship game. Add to it, based on seeding, they could see each other again in the playoff. Crazy, huh? 🤔
  4. I admit I googled if offseason was one word. 🤣 For many of us as fans, the offseason is now here, so might as well start a topic, right? This will be an offseason unlike any one prior. The whole landscape of the college game is changing drastically now. It's been mentioned before, the NCAA has done nothing with regard to the transfer portal. To me this is a problem; reaching out to kids who are not in the portal. https://www.barstoolsports.com/blog/3494966/washington-state-qb-cam-ward-reportedly-has-up-to-10-seven-figure-offers-to-transfer?fbclid=IwAR2yYDdsNHU8_WwRQQW7K72Cx2FRLudeuobnOyJ4OptEdLXOiirk_feNiDI One simple fix....scholarships go back to what they were; multi year commitments. Might as well just call them contracts now. The NCAA, if they survive this, could even allow a rookie contract, so a player could decide whether to stay or not after year one on campus. Then programs can get them to sign 1, 2, or even 3 year contracts, with 4th and 5th year options if there is a red shirt or injury year,
  5. Just learned during the game yesterday that Dickert is from the same small town my grandparents moved to when they moved back to Wisconsin from Lemont, IL. We spent a lot of Summers as kids in Oconto, WI. I like Dickert too. Lord knows what happens with them next season as far as a conference goes. Two other names come to my mind….Mike Hart is one. He has been in the program at IU as a coach, so he has some idea of what needs to happen. Brian Hartline is the other. Both know what it takes to run a top 5 program. I would add there is one to avoid….Tommy Rees. Just never thought a lot of him as an OC, a job he would likely maintain if he were a head coach somewhere. And I am sure he is going to be actively looking. IU also needs to fire the asshat who included the huge buyout as part of the contract extension Allen got after the 2020 season.
  6. A friend posted a video from that corner of the end zone. It was clearly a TD, but the official is looking at feet when he signals incomplete.
  7. From The Land of Cheese. My younger sister works for Lake Geneva Schools (represented by Badger HS). Her son and daughter are recent grads from Badger She called right after the game to ask how many teams go for 2 points late in the game after a TD to go for the win. I told her it was more common that she thinks. Waunakee has 7 titles since 1999, and this was Badger's 1st trip.
  8. And to think I caught crap when I said an early season win with this group was not really a surprise 😄 Not you, but looked for a recent comment to connect with.
  9. Great story from Saturday https://www.southbendtribune.com/videos/sports/college/football/2023/11/18/sam-hartman-tells-the-incredible-story-of-the-flying-marshmallow-senior-day-notre-dame-football/71641033007/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_South_Bend_Tribune&fbclid=IwAR1De2tMk3uZYfHfdt0Uf8CtRdOHtb1odO5C2_sVz0BrySebQAgyg0UsoAo
  10. I agree as far as the assumptions go about controlling enrollment. The same can be said when the r word is thrown out when the term people are actually referring to is undue influence. And the difference between recruiting and undue influence is pretty significant.
  11. Right now, someone is at least thinking this....and someone will step up to this challenge.
  12. Sorry.....every single one does Every single one has an admission/application process. That limits/restricts enrollment Even with tuition assistance and vouchers, the cost to attend limits/restricts enrollment. 99.9% of them have little to no special needs population, and even the ones that do have very limited resources and have to turn away certain student they know they would not be able to serve effectively. That limits/restricts enrollment. Every one of them has a performance and behavior standard in place that would not be allowed in public schools. That limits/restricts enrollment. The size of most buildings, including the number of classrooms and the number of seats available limits/restricts enrollment. These are not criticisms, but they are all realities.
  13. You are new here, aren’t you? 🤣 What’s the line from that commercial? Oh yeah That’s not how this works at all 🤣
  14. While some has been self inflicted, other societal issues are put on schools that they were never meant to handle are a HUGE problem. You also cannot ignore what politicians in the Statehouse are doing that negatively impact schools that serve predominantly poor communities.
  15. If you are not following this guy on the Xitters, you should….he is a true American patriot
  16. Look at you people getting this topic back on the rails.. lol lmao smdh
  17. Or instead of “yes”, it could be “you” Not calling you one mind you; although @Lysander may have a different opinion 🤣🤣😂 just kidding. I love when topics get derailed 😂
  18. Wise decision……this is not the place for it. Report it though to the AD. The challenge in a number of situations has been getting AD’s or other school/district administrators to follow through with reporting.
